I can say definitively that Dawn, in contrast, clearly understands how to work with a dog and its caretakers to address more extreme behaviors, she is very responsive to any questions or concerns we have between sessions, and she made a point of developing an advanced schedule going out several weeks so we know when we'll meet. Plus, she provided a whole training handbook to review, versus a few basic printouts provided by the other trainer. The training program, in other words, feels far more robust, holistic, and concentrated on final results rather than one-off advice. The up-front flat fee also made it very easy to budget for this training, as we knew exactly how much we'd need to pay for the full training package.
Dawn is informative, patient, and competent, and I would definitely recommend her.

Stephanie Mowery: I had a wonderful experience with Dawn helping us when our younger dog starting attacking our older one. We were overwhelmed and felt like we couldn't trust our dogs in our own house. Dawn worked with us patiently and helped us get both our dogs back on track. She gave us so much insight into our dogs' psychology and was available for text support in between sessions. She even scheduled a last minute session with us after a specific upsetting incident. It took patience on our part, but our dogs are best friends again and we feel so much. more confident as dog owners. We owe it all to Dawn and are so happy with her services.
Jennifer Dishman: We neglected to get our dog trained when she was a a puppy due to health issues and then just never got around to it. I was doubtful that my eight year old dog could really accomplish anything. We decided to do the private, in home route because that is her environment. We have several behaviors we want to correct and Dawn has been helping us. I’m honestly pleasantly surprised at our success! Each session we learn something new. Dawn is patient and gives us just enough to work on before the next lesson. The philosophy of circle city dog training is fitting us well. I definitely recommend them.

Carleigh Grupe: Circle City dog training was amazing in helping us train our dog, Sierra. Our dog is a deaf Labrador mix who had trouble with people coming into our house and being around other people/dogs in public places. We worked with Dawn over a year and can now have people over to our house with no problems, and we are able to take our dog out into public places. She is much calmer and more manageable now than she ever was prior to training. Dawn was a great help and worked with us on every little issue that our dog had. I have 3 dogs one being a very anxious 7 y/o German Shepherd that has completely calmed down. My other two dogs are listening so much better! It’s a much more peaceful house! Kurt Walton: I am a current guest of Extended Stay America Hotel next door to Barkefellers and I would not recommend this place. The alarms go off all the time at night and there is not a night staff to tend to the dogs. I have seen a few staff members from my window strike the dogs. I would recommend taking your doggies to a better place.
Lacey G: 99% of the posts from March 29th are about a x employees social media post. All the 5 stars are from employees and the 1 stars are from people who believe everything they see on the internet. I saw the post and was concerned since we were scheduled to take our dogs on the 31st. I commented on one of them and the owner called me the next day to address my concerns. He said we were welcome to check out the facility at any time. After our call I decided to go ahead and take my dogs. They were perfectly fine and I felt they were well taken care of. We will be using them again 4 days next week. I always prefer them to be with me, but sometimes they just can't and I trust barkefellers to take good care of them. If you're reading reviews to see if this is a safe place to take your dogs I recommend you just stop in and ask for a tour so that you can see how the place is on any random day.

A current employee couldn't take it anymore and posted pictures of feces covered animals..filthy kennels. A former manager who quit confirmed that employees are lax, animals are not well cared for so she moved on to start her own pet sitting. Numerous people who had used them once and never again posted their bad experience here.
Ali Chumley: DO NOT board your dogs here. They tend to leave animals in their cages with pee and their own feces. They also leave the dogs overnight with no overnight staff, this is very dangerous. Too many horror stories of dog’s not being treated right.

caity bot: They leave their dogs in filthy kennels for hours, refuse to properly bathe them when they inevitably get digustingly coated in their own feces, and the owners don’t seem to care or find this a problem. When employees bring this up, the owners completely ignore the issue and refuse to bathe the dog properly if they’re not being paid to do so, leaving employees to shoddily try and bathe them with a hose.Shame on them.
m a: I was honestly worried with boarding My cat Elhpie and My dog Rover here as it was my first time leaving them at a pet hotel while I went on vacation. Fortunately, it was the best decision ever to leave my pets at this place. The service was amazing. Everyone was so patient and understanding not only with me as a first-time customer but with my kids as well. It’s hard to believe what these reviews are talking about, especially since my friends recommended me this place.

The reviews are going around the media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, etc...) with the pictures attached, along with one of their own employees quitting her job for the same reason I'm leaving this review. (A few up there care, but most just see it as a job....)
Chuck Terrell: The last stay, our pet was not given ANY of the treats we provided. It's hard telling what else they didn't do.Then today, they called to cancel our appointment we made weeks ago, saying it was a mistake. We have movers coming and are moving out of state, we had no other options. The manager said she would find a place for her. My wife arrives with our dog and she tells her they can't do it. We had to come up with a solution to have her get a spa day and stay in the spa. I hate being lied to like that. Avoid this location or Barkafellers all together!!!

Marissa Barber: Uptown Pup has been a lifesaver! 🙌🏼 Prior to finding them, our dog had not been able to be groomed. We had multiple failed attempts of grooming sessions (no fault of the groomer), trials of anxiety medications, and a sedated groom. When we were finally at a loss, our behaviorist recommended Uptown Pup. I was skeptical that it wouldn’t work and our dog would never be able to be groomed, however, I was beyond wrong. Uptown Pup, specifically Katie Genier, has worked her magic on our pup. Following a rigid schedule with her, he is able to tolerate a lot more now than ever. He is by no means perfect when it comes to grooming yet but he has made amazing strides and I will be before thankful for her and this company.

Glen Boer: We were looking for a place to board our little rescue dog, Lucy for the first time. After recommendations from our friends, who have used Uptown Pup, and meeting the owner on our first visit, we decided to give them a try. We dropped her off on a Thursday evening and picked her up a week late. We were worried that she might not eat well, since she is very timid around others. When we picked her up, I asked if shes been eating well. They said not at first, but they wet her food and sat with her. They said she ended up cleaning out her bowl every meal. I am so grateful for the staff at Uptown Pup and the care they showed our Lucy. I'm also glad our friends recommended them and I would recommend you give them a try for your furry baby. Danielle Maulucci: I boarded my dog here for 5 days and I could not have been happier with how she came back. She has had previously poor experiences with boarding and has a lot of separation anxiety due to her past of being abandoned many times. When I picked her up she seemed so happy and I asked the staff how she did and they were able to tell me specific things about her (her quirks and all) that they wouldn't have known had they not spent time with her. I had her in the tummy rub club and enrichment and I believe they genuinely did these things with her which is a relief since many boarding places have you pay for add-ons and don't even do them. She also did not smell like pee or smell like she had a bath which is a good indication to me that they took her out enough and she didn't have any accidents! Would not board my dog anywhere else.

We are working with one trainer, Brooke, and she has been incredible to work with. It's so special to see our puppy get excited to be dropped off in the mornings. We get videos every day discussing what our puppy has learned and what to do at home to help implement these skills. In addition to the trainer, the front desk and help staff have always been so wonderful and helpful. As a first time dog owner, they have been so willing to answer all questions we have and direct us to what we need. We have not used the boarding or grooming services yet, but I couldn't imagine taking my dog anywhere else!

However, we were never emailed a link to use this service and we’re not able to get ahold of them while on our trip. They ended up discounting our stay 10%. Good not great.

Ferdinand Pages: Either the positive reviews are fake or nobody with a dog over 100lbs comes here. Was told midway through our 2 dogs week long stay that one of them would not be welcome their anymore because their “staff” are too weak to handle a 100lb dog…then they proceed to leave generic fake feedback in their report cards saying how great they are…if they were so great why aren’t they welcome back? If you can’t hire a staff capable of handling a bigger dog then that’s a YOU problem. It’s not the dogs fault.Would not recommend sending your dogs here if you have a larger breed. Overpriced and there’s a good chance your dog will break out of their cage due to incompetent staff.

He can definitely be a lot to handle due to being a rescue and not having the best of training. I asked what I could do to help and They gladly took the time to gave a few pointers. Everyone is extremely professional and sweet, I seriously appreciate all the hard work they do!!

Wendy McCauley: I’ve taken my miniature poodle Minnie Pearl to the south location many times for boarding and grooming. They take good care of her and I wouldn’t trust anyone else but Carolina the groomer with my baby. Always a great experience and my Minnie Pearl loves all the staff.
Gloria Mann: First time and absolutely the last time. The check in was awful. Vet records were in order, but they insisted on calling the vet. Our wonderful pet didn't pass the temp test. So, instead of barkefellers trying again, they just put our pet in the kennel. We paid for the luxury suite, with web cam, personal tuck ins, and cuddle time. After watching the web cam for a long time, I never saw one attendant come and comfort my pet. Cut my vacation short and came to pick up. Then, after all the money, for nothing, I was charged more money. They also had the addiciy to imply for a tip. Save ur money folks.
Jessi: They took great care of our pugs while we've were out of town. It was our first time boarding our furry babies and the staff was very nice and helpful and put us right at ease.
Michael Bates: Totally dissatisfied with customer service. We used this boarding place for the first time. Both our chocolate lab and yellow lab came home limping. We sent enough food for the whole stay, amazingly they gave us back half of it. Hmmmm. Also our chocolate was on a prescription and we asked them for the bottle. They lost it. Asked them to give both dogs a bath. No bath. We will find a place where they really care about our pets.

Larry Webb: Picked my dogs up at Barkefellers South Indy July 18th. My dogs had been at Barkefellers for 1 week. Our lab had a prescription diet dog food so both our dogseat the same food. It appears that they must not have fed them our food. I usually have very little left when they come home after a week but this time only half of what I sent was used so this is merely an assumption but my lab has severe diarrhea which happens when she Is fed the wrong food. . This is not to mention the terrible experience I had when I called to see if the grooming was done. Or the30 minute wait to get my dogs while 10 to other people came and went after me. The sad part is I paid 900.00 dollars to be treated like this. My poor lab .Never again.Well it continues, I was given the owners name Cristy Coffee and number. I left a message 6.5 hours ago asking for a return call. Well no call back so far which ki d of falls in line with my experience. I'm getting ready to call the vet since my dog is still having issues which I a assume is from being fed dog food that is not prescribed and I provided.

Jessica Perry: Bark Tutor's 3 week training course was wonderful. Marvin, our Bernedoodle puppy, learned so much from Kayla and the rest of the team. He got so excited to go to school every morning. All of the staff made me feel confident and comfortable leaving Marv in their care. They are so attentive and kind. I love that Bark Tutor sends photos of the pups throughout the day and provides a detailed report card each evening.Kayla did a great job teaching Marvin. His behavior and manners have improved so much and he's much more confident now. My husband and I also feel much more prepared to train and raise Marvin. Kayla gave us many resources and tips to make sure we're the best dog parents possible.I can't wait for Marvin to go back for daycare to see all his friends. I highly recommend Bark Tutor.

And we are so glad we did.From the initial call with Kylee, we knew Bark Tutor was right we’re Reggie needed to be! We enrolled him in the 3-week day training program and never looked back.We are so thankful for Reggie’s trainer, Mark. The Reggie we dropped off on day one and the Reggie we picked up on day 14 were sincerely two totally different dogs! Mark was incredibly patient and diligent with not only Reggie, but also with me and my husband, who I’m sure at times were more difficult to train than the dog. You can clearly see that he has a special gift! We were so impressed with Mark, and all of the other Bark Tutor staff that we encountered during drop-offs and pick-ups.We would recommend Bark Tutor to literally anyone. The entire staff and our trainer Kayla were so amazing with Milly and I felt so comfortable leaving her there everyday and knew she was in the best care. Over those three weeks her daily report card was the best part of my day! We recently took her to an outdoor brewery to practice her new skills and the experience was like night and day compared to before training. Anthony Perugini: HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend. When we first got our GSD puppy we knew we wanted a formal training program. We opted for the 3 week day training program. It is 100% worth every penny.Kayla, our trainer, is phenomenal and worked with us on the basic obedience training, answered any and all questions we had, and often went above and beyond with any extra troubleshooting we needed etc. She not only helped train Ruby but she also helped train us to be better communicators with our doggo. I cannot recommend her enough as she is truly a gifted trainer. BarkTutor was very flexible with us after we had to reschedule due to conflicts and make adjustments due to my education/work requirements.
Stephenie morton: Bark Tutor is an outstanding place to take your puppy or dog for training. I took my 3 month old basenji for Day Training. Day Training is a three week program where your dog is assigned a trainer 5 days a week to learn basic skills, manners, etc. Kayla was our trainer and we had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend Bark Tutor and Kayla. The entire staff is professional, reliable, friendly, attentive to you and your pooch.
