Mike Feldman: We used Whittney to redo our 1936 built home and from the beginning we were amazed. We were doing a 5+ month remodel on our forever home so we wanted to get it right the first time and didn’t want any regrets so that’s why we chose to work with a designer. We knew she specialized in older homes so it was a no brained to use her. She normally would present 2-3 options for each light fixture, tile, cabinet hardware, etc… and while we usually went with one of those options, a few of the choices were outside our budget and we voiced that to her and she quickly gave us more options that were great. She was very accessible and we never felt like our project was too small for her. She was very worth the investment and we will use her when we redo our master bathroom and basement. We’ve referred her to several friends of ours because we’re now big believers of doing things the right way the first time and a quality designer will ensure that. Can’t say enough good things about Whittney!

Jamal Smith: When the HER TEAM says “trust the process,” that is exactly what they mean. We had a major renovation under taking with a full kitchen remodel, entire home flooring and a 2 bathroom refresh. We experienced delays, incorrect items shipped, and every common construction woe that we were warned about in the beginning. Construction seemed never ending! Not one time did the HER team waver even when we got anxious and asked a ton of questions. They remained calm, transparent and communicative throughout.We sought out many design firms because we knew this was a major project. However, once we shared our vision for our space it seemed as if other firms only saw dollar signs, were booked way out or didn’t follow up to see if we still needed service. The HER team was available, answered the phone and understood what we were trying to achieve. The design team worked with us to bring function and beauty to our space and we love every square inch!We couldn’t be more pleased with the finished product. Our home was beautiful before but this redesign raised the bar in MAJOR ways. Our home looks and feels completely different, which is exactly what we had hoped. Jen Day: Big discrepancy between Services described over phone vs services rendered-very disappointing. Second meeting was to identify materials. Very few materials were selected by the team and lacked function/creativity. When I asked to see more materials they said I would have to pay more money. Majority of 2nd meeting was showing me lack luster photos, not materials and I had already provided inspirational photos at the first meeting. Many details I had mentioned in the first meeting had been forgotten by meeting 2, time waster. Designer I had primarily spoken to was absent for the second meeting and I was not notified she wouldn’t be in attendance until mid meeting. They ask for money upfront so if they fail to provide promised services, It’s at the customers loss. In stark contrast, I found an amazing alternative local designer who came to my house with a ton of materials after simply looking at my inspirational photos that I texted to her. We worked out an entire bathroom design in 1.5 hours for 1/3 the cost.Service:Bathroom design

Courtland Robertson: We worked with Jeff on restoring a elegant historic home in downtown Indianapolis. The clients had used him for an extensive structural refresh. However, they found some rot in the 140 year old siding and framing. Jeff brought us in to properly remediate the issues at hand and restore the home to its' original design and aesthetics. He was always punctual, thorough, eloquent, and used the newest technology to provide the highest level of service to his clients. He managed every portion of the project, so the homeowners never had a single worry.
Karis Klassen: I consulted Jeff for color selections for major repainting project. He was able to find a selection of colors I loved in less than two hours and assisted me in finding a good painting company. He helped with advising me with managing the project and making sure I was happy with the final results. I would definitely consult Jeff again, his expertise, creativity, professionalism and flexibility not only helped me find the right colors, but helped me feel great about the whole project. I've picked out my own paint colors in the past and always regretted doing so. This is an expense that is well worth the investment!

Brian West: I bought a sizeable home in a historic district downtown Indy that was in need of a deep remodel and personalization. Jeff had been my licensed interior designer for many years at our previous home. He was given a limited amount of time to completely overhaul my new structure inside and out including: full architectural design issues of kitchen and master bath face lifts, three new baths, new laundry, lighting plans, garage tech, a whole house generator, decks, landscape and the like. He translated furnishings from my existing house to this new home, added many new items I had researched plus new pieces he suggested. A fantastic whole house automation system including security, entertainment, HVAC, window shade and lighting control was also designed; giving me great control of my home no matter where I might be. Jeff handled all aspects of the project: full design, purchasing, materials and contractor management, final clean up and move in. Rinal Patel: Moving out of state to Indiana and buying our first house. I’ve been following HL and love the work they do. Therefore, I wanted to see if the team would work with us once our new build was completed. I shared our home layout and budget of 50k. The team got back to me and simply said this wasn’t enough money. I’m a little disappointed that the team didn’t even explain or try to work with us. I guess I thought they would try and work with clients who are also passionate about making their house feel like a beautiful home no matter the size/budget. Also, 50k is not a small amount for someone who just needs help styling their new build and no demo needed. Luckily, I was able to find a designer who would work with us and we even increased our budget after talking about what we wanted. Maybe they were blunt because they didn’t want to waste my time. Maybe in the future I’ll have enough money and a bigger home to work with this company.
