Dr. Whitney Purtzer is very thorough and I feel confident she will catch any serious problems with my eyes. My prescription is always accurate and I love my glasses. The frame selection is plentiful as I have a narrow pupil distance and can find frames that fit my face here. They will also gladly order the correct size frame to fit your face. My family sees Dr. Purtzer as well and have had thorough eye exams resulting in glasses. They are seeing better now! The service is always on time and I have zero wait time even if I’m early. I appreciate Good Service, Thank you!

Brett Crowe: Ordered glasses $729 waited a month for them to come in. Can only see my phone when I hold it 6 inches from my face. 1 in closer or further away completely blurry. Can see fine far away unless I turn my head I centimeter to the left or right then again completely blurry. They told me it might take awhile for my eyes to adjust. I've worn glasses for15 years and have never had a problem before with much less expensive glasses. Both of my roommates got medicaid glasses from focused. With anti glare and scratch resistance at a cost of $0 extra. I paid and extra $192. I am not at all impressed with focused eye care. I can see better out of my pair of drug store glasses. They simply dismissed my issues but I guess they've already been paid in full so why would they care that I am not at all satisfied not to mention cannot see out if the inferior glasses they sold me. The most expensive and absolute worst glasses I have ever had. And they say you get what you pay for...Ha! Last time I splurge on myself.
Danashe Thompson: The receptionist lady is Beyond rude, and she book a appointment that I missed and was not aware of after a call with questions and concerns on the situation due to my child. I was told to go see my primary doctor. Due to it not being time for his Eye exam time, but because I have 3 miss appointments it’s my fault even after explaining what happen, but best wish.

Dennis: Had metal shaving in my eye and they fit me in in-between appointments and took care of me quickly. The staff and doctor on hand were extremely friendly and very helpful. I was very appreciative of the fact they took me on as a walk in and got me in and out quickly and throughly checked my eye and made all the foreign material was removed.
Mrs. Lindow: The entire staff works together to provide a quality experience. They assisted us on numerous occasions, including the time my daughter’s glasses broke less than 24 hours before a special family trip to the mountains! She had her new glasses in literally hours. Our entire family sees Dr P-that’s 6 of us!- and we have always been happy with our experiences.

My eye dr is the greatest she takes the time to listen and she really cares about what she’s doing and about her patients. They go out of their way to make sure your comfortable and happy with the glasses and how they fit. Now if your like me where I can’t make up my mind on which pair I want, they’ve helped me with that too. I’m always happy with the results and very pleased when I receive my glasses!!!!! Brooke Russwurm: I’ve given this place 3 stars and not 5 because they lack communication. I ordered two pairs of glasses, one pair Sun glasses and the other pair regular high definition lenses. They failed to inform me that there were special care instructions for these lenses so I had to use my only warranty to replace them. They also told me that my insurance would pay a certain amount of my frames but then 2 weeks later they billed me an extra $80 because they were wrong. Then I tried to pay $100 towards my sunglasses and they wouldn’t let me leave with them even though I’ve been a customer for 5 plus years! They are very clean and professional and the doctors are great but the front desk staff and the ones that prepare your glasses for you, lack communication and could use better customer service.

Matthew Lehner: I was sent here by Indiana LASIK Centers for pre/post LASIK appointments. Midwest Eye Consultants rescheduled my appointment on short notice three times, pushing it back until a week before my LASIK date. Two days later they decided I need to see a retinal specialist prior to getting LASIK. As would be expected, I can't get into one on either of the two business days before my LASIK procedure, so I had to cancel it. Since Indiana LASIK Centers only does LASIK once a month, I am not available to reschedule with them until the end of the year at the earliest. Now I have to start the whole lengthy process over at another LASIK center.
D T: I didn’t get my prescription here but I did come to buy a pair of glasses. Jessica who helped me take my measurements and choose a frame was super helpful, had really great suggestions, and was just really satisfying in general to work with. She was also super patient for someone as indecisive as me. Thanks for all the help!

They said they would replace them, and tried to give me a completely different frame. Has taken weeks now to get these glasses and has been a very frustrating experience. Would not recommend purchasing glasses at this location.

When I called to schedule an appointment, I double-checked with the person I talked to (who was nice and friendly) if my insurance would be accepted and if it would cover prescriptions. Once I got there, I had an extremely positive experience with the nurse and a pretty good experience with the doctor, though I had to wait for him for 15-20 minutes. My experience was totally ruined at the checkout when I was told about some additional charges nobody had mentioned before, with the $60 "contacts" exam being the most ridiculous one. I still do not know which part was the "contacts" exam, and if I had known I would be charged that ridiculous amount for it without almost any changes to my existing prescription, I would have gone to Walmart. Would not recommend it to anyone who does not want to have bad surprises upon ckeckout.Update: nobody even tried to reach out to me.

Blair Gingerich: Dr. Coalter and the rest of the staff were a joy to work with. We were there for a vision exam for my 9 year old son. Dr. Coalter made sure to speak directly with my son. My son felt validated and heard. He advised us well on the best course of action for my son, taking into account his age and personality.
palmolive: immediately had issues with my prescription and upon calling, they seemed very disinterested in helping sort it out. saying i might be charged or i might not be to be given an accurate eye exam, i'm guessing on whether or not they thought i was making it up. won't be going back. they also tried hard to not give me a copy of my prescription.

We are not new patients, we have come here for at least SIX YEARS! The selection of frames is very poor. Took our prescription to Walmart. When they tried to run the prescription thru for glasses it was rejected. Boling had run through saying we had gotten glasses there. We won’t be back.

Doug Posthumus: Dr. Robbins-Winters has been my eyecare provider since my surgeon recommended her after eye surgery. Dr. Robbins-Winters and her technicians do a great job. Dr. Robbins-Winters is very patient explaining my eye issues and answering all my questions.I recommend Eye Care Associates of Michiana.Updated 4-12-2023:A month ago I had cataract surgery. Dr. Robbins-Winters coordinated with the eye surgeon to provide me with the best vision I have had in many years. A standard lens was used to repair the cataract and now the vision in my left eye is to a point where I don't need eyeglasses or eye correction for the first time since I was 8 years old. I can't thank Dr. Robbins-Winters enough for the eye care she and her staff provide for me

Kristen Gillison: My experience at Midwest Eye Consultants has been above average. The staff are very friendly and the appointments are always done in a timely manner.
Kamui Mitchell: When I first moved to Mishawaka it was a very lonely experience. So as someone that wears glasses I was a bit weary in going to a new place and deciding on which one. However, as soon as I stepped foot inside the door and was properly greeted it all became very clear this was the right place to go. I've been going there for nearly a year now and I CONSTANTLY get my glasses adjusted. I'm sure it's a bit of a pain for them to do, but I've never been made to felt like I was wasting their time or a burden. Which being alone in a big city, it was really nice to feel like there were some friendly faces out there still. Could not recommend more.

Cathi Walbert: The people were friendly although there was a young man that tried to charge me $300 to widen the bifocal in my glasses and then the manager did it for $70 they were trying to lead me to believe that since I have anthem my glasses were sent to a different lab than theirs so they’re not as good quality I have had to send my glasses along with my frames in because my left lens continues to fall out at least twice a week I go to any optical place that I can fine open to put my lens back in I get them back after 2 1/2 weeks the lens falls out again and of course they’re out of warranty of for sure you know but they did tell me that I could have my eyes exam and get new frames because my insurance is flipped over now what in the world would make them think I would ever come to them again obviously the frame and the lens are not the correct size the right lens doesn’t fall out so you would think they could get it right after the second time never recommend them!

I recently went in twice for nose-pad replacements for my glasses wherein the first visit was smooth. The second visit however was a total mess followed by a false police report over my inability to wear a mask.I would NOT recommend any business that cannot adhere to State Governor Executive orders.

Sara Nielson: Everyone here is very friendly and knowledgeable and I highly recommend them. Not sure if I'm spilling a top secret but they price matched my lenses! Saved 20 BUCKS!!!!

Jared Bunton: I went and got an eye exam and contacts for my birthday and a few months later I was having issues seeing. Out of one eye(I've worn contacts 16+ years it's happened before due to negligence of eye hygiene). Anyways so I went there to see what was up, and they could not help me there BUT the doctor got on the phone ASAP and got me an appointment with a specialist THAT SAME DAY! (I skippedweeks waiting list) because of the call. The specialist saved my vision had it been 1 day longer t may of not been repairable. So I thank them for playing a huge role in saving my eye. Cornea was scarred from sleeping in my contacts. My fault. Even went back and got the Dr a gift card later

Laura Didonna: This was our first time using Eyecare Express. My mom and I were on our way to another quick eye care place when they decided to call me and tell me they canceled my appointment (after we drove 1.5 hours there). I called EyeCare and they informed me that they would see me immediately and I could just do a walk in. I saw the eye doctor to get my prescription and she was quick and thorough. They were very patient with my mom and I as we were indecisive about which 2 frames we wanted. They stayed with us 5 minutes past closing and took our orders. We came back the next day after noon to pick up our glasses. We noticed that a lense on my mom's glasses was popping out of the frame and they fixed it immediately. We also dropped off sunglass frames to have them made while we went to eat. They even let us share the bogo on our sunglasses. Due to severe traffic we were going to be about 10 minutes after closing to pick up our sunglasses. I called them and they said it was no problem and that they'd have our order ready for us. My mother and I had a nice experience and I am grateful for the kindness they showed. I would recommend them.
Deatris Jones: Amber was amazing. I called right as they were closing asking her if she could please help me because someone broke my glasses and I was driving without them. She allowed me to come to the store and was able put my current lens into a new frame. I am really grateful for her help and kindness.
Jim Rockford: If you want to look good or are in public often, DO NOT come here for new glasses! Received absolutely terrible lens fitting that is distinctly noticeable. Nose pads also cannot be adjusted or situated because of the lenses not being properly made. When asked about the issue and if everything was correct visually and pointing out the lenses looking like they were put in crooked, was told in a snarky tone by the desk clerk "nothing we can do about it, its already made". No offer to correct and re-cut the lenses or get at least 1/2 a refund for the shoddy quality - nothing at all. Very poorly put together and absolutely no care about quality from this company when you pay over $300 for a pair of glasses that were supposed to be buy one get one free. Beware their one hour service, shop elsewhere.
Arisa Bajer: Very nice people with fast service. They were very busy but still moved along in a timely manner. The doctor herself was very nice and energetic, very obviously wanting to genuinely help. The rest of the staff were kind and professional.
Pat Hayes: First time we used Eyecare Express. My husband and myself both picked out frames placed our order and picked up new glasses in a reasonable time frame. However, after wearing a few days they felt heavy, so we went back explained our problem to Jennifer. She let us know it wasn't a problem we only had to pay the difference, and she reordered the thinner lens. We picked our new glasses up today had a couple minor adjustments and walked away very happy. Jennifer was amazing with her customer service skills and very knowledgeable about the products.

Ms. Carmen SanDiego: Terrible service. No one seems to know what to do on the front end. The doctor was very unenthusiastic, not knowledgeable and seemed like she didnt want to be there that day. Paid over $300 out of pocket because someone did not do their job and submit my claim to insurance. Ended up having to do a reimbursement form which was time consuming and I'm not even sure I'm going to get my money back. Then a month goes by and I have not heard from anyone so I call to find out where my contacts are and she goes back and tells me that they're ready for pickup?? I asked when was anyone going to call me and inform me that what I PAID FOR was there and she just kind of laughed and told me that she didn't know. Don't waste your time. This place is not one to go to for your eye are needs.

robert young: go with eyes wide open. if it sounds to good it is. had broken frame same one on shelf asked to buy frame and put lenses in them. no they would not.. 2 pair glasses n frames $69.. used insurance charged over 300 for 1 pair. that's why our health care suffers.follow up visit same review nothing changed. same experience.
B Base: Do not go here. I purchased 2 pairs of thin feather weight lens. The first time I went to pick the lens up the lens were different thicknesses. The second time they came back they were not the thin light weight lens. The third time they tried and they were double the thickness of my original lens and they said that is the best they could do. Just go online and purchase your glasses.
