Dean Brown: Checked in at midnight left 10 minutes later. Room had a nasty smell. It was very hot so we tried to turn on the air but the AC didn't work. My wife and I got nausea and left within 10 minutes. They refused to refund because we used the bathroom in that 10 minute period. Jay, the manager is terrible. Just stay at the quality inn next door.
Michael O'Loughlin: A very clean, comfortable and convenient place to stay when visiting the University of Notre Dame. The staff is very helpful and we appreciate their kindness to us during our stay. A very good value in the area. Highly recommend Perkins restaurant nearby for excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner. Adjacent to a 7-11 store for fuel and other travel needs. Very convenient to the highway. The hotel is about a 15 minute drive to University of Notre Dame and Notre Dame Stadium.
Mary: Decent hotel in a rather odd area of town. Kind of dark, desolate feel to the area. Almost an abandoned type of feel. Room was clean. Breakfast was adequate- I just had cereal and yogurt. Staff is very friendly. Rooms not entirely sound proof. People outside standing around drinking. Very comfy bed. Though might not be my first choice if staying in the area again I would still feel ok to stay here if need be.

Aloft South Bend: what do users think?
Carolyne Myers: Staff friendly and go above and beyond! Made it easier to be away from home for work over the Easter weekend. TeJae Jackson: The hotel is gorgeous and had a whole room set aside for keeping rambunctious hockey playing kids entertained because "we know they have lots of energy to burn." This is a first for a hotel to plan for and accommodate hockey kiddos like this in 9 years of traveling for hockey with my 3 children. It made us feel welcome instead of dreaded, which is HUGE. When booking for hockey tournaments you almost never have an option on where to stay, and to know many hotels don't actually want your hockey players there just makes the whole experience feel icky, like you're walking on eggshells. This was refreshing and wholly surprising. The rooms are beautiful and spacious - very comfortable.
Edgar Rodriguez: Staying at this hotel makes me feel like home. The evening chef prepares quality fresh food and the front desk staff is very professional.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Connor U.: Love this hotel. Clean and very modern. Truly a unique hotel!! Great employees. Will be back! Need to get the old elevators back up and running.
Katrina L Wilson-Ross: Great hotel! Great customer service and breakfast was good as well. The only small issue was the thermostat controls were very confusing! View from the 14th floor!
Trish Boccuti: The sleeping rooms are spacious and comfortable and very clean. Love the dry bar toiletries as well.Today we had a business meeting and the room was very spacious and the team the took care of our food and beverage was great. The food for the meeting was average- not bad; nor great. But the great staff help made up for that!

Pickens NotaryLLC: Great staff, nice clean rooms, good food, and I love the view of the city. No complaints at all other than some of the sports (hockey) "inconsiderate parents" and their rude unruly kids. This is not a play ground. Its a nice establishment. I truly appreciate a clean, nice hotels, with a great staff and good food. Also I love kids. Kids will be kids, but the parents can do better.

Knights Inn South Bend: what do users think?
Chris M. Payne: This place is helping people transition from homelessness to relocation into a place to live and it's being run by a great guy who cares about the people who stay there!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Theresa “Mzfabulous” Hensel: Motels4Now program for the homeless, environment is very toxic and unsafe, poor management, low barrier which means a lot of horrible decisions without consequences, favoritism, NOT SAFE FOR KIDS!Rooms: Every room needs maintenance or some sort of fixing up which doesn't get done. Extra critter friends to keep you company,Safety: Shady unsafe environment, night security is a joke can be paid off with drugs or liquor, policies are only enforced on certain people, 10-10 quiet hours feels like prison...Walkability: Yep, liquor store is a 2 min walk grab your candy on the way back! Kill 2 birds with 1 stone... DOOOOPE! 🤫Food & drinks: Steak city's nacho fries are awesome 😎!
Robin Morris: ROACHES WERE CRAWLING OUT OF A ROOM PLUS THEY HAVE BED BUGS
taylor crowe: This place needs to be condemned immediately. I understand it's currently a place for the homeless but I would not let a homeless animal stay there. It's doing the homeless no good if they don't have heat/Air and can't take a bath. If I could give it a zero I wouldRooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More
Donna Hotrum: Was not there! But was next door and what I saw said to me that I would NEVER Sleep, Stop, or Walk into the Knights Inn South Bend!!
Deanna Salisbury: Currently being used to house the homeless, its not safe but better than the streets
Gregory Matthews: The most unbelievable part of the whole thing was we asked upfront if there was a bedbug problem and they were very rude in there answers telling us no..well they were so bad no halfway competent person wouldn't recognize them they were clearly there for generations. This is the absolute most disgusting place in the entire Michiana area they should be condemned
Bhavishavick Patel: Good hotel
Ashlea Stormoen: If I could give this place negative 10 stars I would! I don't have to explain! Here's some photos of the place! And we had to call the police to get our money back! The heat did not work! And we stayed somewhere else!
Tony Conley: Bed bug infestation
Marcus Dowd: Roach motel was second stay this year one was worse first room had people allready in it even tho wasnt supposed to be,second room had no handles on shower or sink and the ac was gone with only styrofoam between inside and outside at knee level, 3rd room was best of 3 even with hole in wall thru to the other side with was vacant room.

S B: Bed bugs in room 220 they moved us but still not a restful stayRooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Summer Morris: It is a shame that there are such negative reviews about this place, I'm just going to list off a few things my family and myself liked about our stay...-due to negative reviews we asked to see a room before we payed for one and the man was so kind and genuine about it, infact letting us see 2 rooms-everywhere is CLEAN, we didn't even see dust in places you exspected to see dust-all staff was kind twards all customers and was enjoying eachothers company at work-breakfast was a good selection (even had waffles with toppings to add in the mixture)-large fitness room, good pool area, had a buisness center to do work if needed, good sized rooms, lobby was nice-rooms block out noise and stay warm-good price-beds aren't hard, wake up well restedThis is getting long but we really didn't have any issues with our stay.Rooms: Warm, good sized, quietNearby activities: It's right near town snd theres a buttload of things to do in South Bend
Keshia Hammonds: If was filthy, nasty, dusty and they had bugs in the bed I had someone put it in the bottle
Daniel Lambert: Nice hotel
Jennifer Penrod: One of my family members booked a room here for his sons birthday. He planned to let kids swim and do food and presents in the room. He told the clerk when he booked over the phone that it was for this specific reason. When he went to check in they told us we needed to pay $10 per child that was attending and would be swimming. Never in my life have I had a hotel charge for kids to swim. We voiced our dissatisfaction and were met with no empathy or leeway from the front desk. The pool was absolutely disgusting and cloudy. The front desk wouldn't give us more than 1 pool towel per kid and even went as far as telling us to just use the room towels. How would they dry off from a shower if they used to room towels and wouldn't give any extra? I would highly recommend never going to this location. I would rather sleep in my car on the side of the highway. The sheets were stained and the headboards were oily. They also own the hotel in front which is a sleep inn. Probably wouldn't stay there either. Also, after paying cash for kids to swim, they charged the room credit card for the kids. So they obviously don't know what they're doing and have horrible customer service.
Mariah Murray: My insurance booked us a room due to our furnace going out in a snow storm. When I arrived the lady that told me her name was Betty was being very rude to two other guests that were before me in line. When I approached the counter, I told her I have a reservation, but couldn’t even give her the reservation number before she screamed at me no you don’t. I was taken aback and tried to explain to her and show her the email from my company that I do in fact have a reservation. After this she refused to check me in and then stated my company would need to call her to book a room. So while I was on the phone with my company I asked Betty for the number to call her. She stated you know I need to call my boss because I don’t think I want to book you guys in. She then came back and stated that she could not take payment over the phone per her boss. My insurance people were very confused because they have a contract with this hotel. Long story short my house will not be ready and I’m currently in my car in the snow looking for a place to stay. I will never do business here again, and neither will my insurance.
Melissa Mack: Great place to stay while driving thru the area. Not top of the line of course but for the price it wasn't bad. Friendly staff. Hot breakfast.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
George Koppers: Pool still broak dirty rooms , it's becoming the normal with the private owned quality inns. I do a lot of traveling and the comfort inns and quality inns are becoming nasty hotels. The people buying these properties are scrimping on amenities and are not repairing or thoroughly cleaning the rooms . Breakfasts have become gross also.
Ginna (ginnamwal): I don't recommend this place at all! Even though the rooms were clean and the breakfast offered was good. The pool was closed for renovations, guest laundry didn't work. It was offered for me to use the guest laundry at their other property. However, the staff at the other property was not happy about that. They were rude and we found out the hard way it didn't work. Our clothes never dried. The absolute worst part, is the guest pin pad was BEHIND the desk. The desk clerk took my card, and then to my dismay signed the pin pad on my behalf. When I said something it didn't phase him at all. When I insisted and pressed for both a receipt showing proof of payment for the room and the $20 pet fee ( very reasonable no problem with that at all ) The desk clerk, stated "I will just charge your card and you can get a receipt in the morning". When I said this was unacceptable and I was uncomfortable with that and I wanted one now. He repeated the same thing. Tired from my drive, I nervously just walked away. When, I came back in from unloading my car, the desk clerk had the receipt for the pet fee charge. When I went to the desk in the am for a late check out they happily allowed us to check out at 12. When I went to check out and provide my Choice Privilege number I was told to call Choice they could not do it. When I asked for a receipt of check out. I noticed none of my information was listed on the reservation. My name was wrong, no address information just a generic N/A and South Bend In as my address. This alerted me, I was informed they couldn't change it, and I had to call Choice. The desk clerk had taken my ID and Card the night before and was typing things into the system with them. But no information was in there. This alerted me majorly. When I phoned Choice they didn't seem to be alerted either. This was a MAJOR issue for me. Choice and this property dropped the ball, by encouraging their desk staff to illegally sign my signature into the pin pad. The guest pin pads are for the guests to use to sign their own name! I filed a formal complaint with Choice the same day I checked out 12/28 and I have yet to hear back from the property. I am watching my card closely.
Linda Wagner: Night desk clerk, Betti, after her shift was over, took me to the hospital for my chemo treatment and picked me up when finished to return me to the hotel. The blizzard did not get taxi, uber, or lyft services to me. She is now known to my family as Betti Angel.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
DeKiffany Warren: My stay was good however if I can figure out how to post a picture of the breakfast, you’d be highly disappointed as I was. The eggs for the 2 days I stayed were so hard, overcooked and not for human consumption. Definitely should be more mindful when feeding guest. I’m sure they wouldn’t eat that mess either. They were better off now serving hot food if they were going to serve junk.
Richard Joseph: An excellent hotel, and value, for the price. Clean rooms, good free breakfast, and friendly, professional service from both the hotel staff and owners. Would certainly stay again!
Alex: 4 stars for the price. No juice at breakfast though, pool was closed. Smelled a bit like smoke in the rooms.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Eric Markovich: I am not sure why the negative reviews so I am posting on my own experience. This establishment was cleaner than some I’ve stayed in. We stayed here to attend a ND game. It was just a15 minute drive to the Campus/Stadium. Very acceptable for me. I would stay here again. Beds were okay but some place to sleep as we spent most of our time on campus. I would recommend this place to anyone
Martha Bell: The rooms were clean and airy and the front desk steered me to just the right place for dinner.
shawn E: Don’t stay here…It’s a joke
Kevin Downs: I know this is a 2 star hotel, but it definitely wasn’t “quality.” Everything was outdated, pool closed, the breakfast was terrible, and the entire place smelled like a foot. Every hotel has some sketchy people, but this hotel seemed to attract it. I gave it 2 stars because I managed to survive my stay there. There are other 2 star hotels nearby doing it better.

Eric Hoskinson: Facility, rooms, and amenities are as expected. All the staff but one was extremely courteous but two. Watch out for the obese front desk worker who's stomach hangs below his shirt. He kicked everyone out of the pool one night and had the audacity to say "This is why I'm not having any Damn kids" when leaving the pool are. He's also very fast to nitpick all the kids when we were hanging out in the lobby area. The other lady who had shorter hair was in the process of asking the kids to leave the breakfast area unless accompanied by an adult. For as much money as our and another hockey team spent to have rooms here. They were very discourteous. TLDR some staff is not kid friendly.

Embassy Suites by Hilton South Bend at Notre Dame: what do users think?
anthony cavegn: I live out of state and traveled 7 hours to come here for a work conference. It wasn’t until a week after I arrived home that I realized I left one of my bags in the room. They went above and beyond to make sure my property was kept safe until I could retrieve it. The staff was so kind throughout my stay and the breakfast was absolutely killer. 10/10 recommend. We weren’t advised that when checking out we needed our room key to leave parking lot after check out we normally leave our key card inside hotel we were stuck for over 20 min waiting on someone to let us out and another couple was also waiting prior to us.Rooms: Not what we are use to being diamond members we did realize they weren’t suites.Noteworthy details: The hotel should make sure when you check in that you are aware that you must take your room key with you at checkout to leave the parking garage we were stuck for 20 min along eith another couple
Elizabeth Phillippo: Hotel itself was great but the maid stole my yeti cup while we were out to lunch.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Great view, Kid-friendly …More
Roger Draft: This outstanding hotel is across the street from Notre Dame and actually appears to be a part of the campus. We were fortunate to be traveling mid week rather than a football weekend, so were able to get a beautiful, well appointed room. From an evening reception with complimentary drinks and appetizers to a comfortable bed, a large screen TV, an exceptionally clean bathroom and a much better than average complimentary cafeteria style breakfast, we felt treated as welcome guests. It is easily accessible to and from US 31 and the Indiana toll road.
Kim Pop (kimpopusa): Made to order breakfast. Please also offer oat milk at coffee area. Convenient to campus.
Kim Griffin: Left a jacket & shirt in the closet and housekeeping did not turn in to front desk. When I called back management ignored my request to check with housekeeping. Next day management said too bad.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Greg Moran: Great hotel in a great location. Unfortunately, they recently started charging for parking which, I believe, was previously free for diamond members. I have stayed here a few times and this is the first time I was charged.

Thanks to the staff for taking great care to the many details that have to happen to make a home away from home run so smoothly! Great job....especially to Michael at the front desk and Chef Mario and Chef Patrick.
Dan Morris: Separate charges for everything. Beds very hard
Roselene Lange: It’s super overpriced, not clean enough. We stains in our sheets, not enough blankets and it’s an old hotel. Breakfast is great, but takes forever to replace coffee. Eva Harrison: Terrible experience. I stayed here for two nights. The hotel front had scaffolding which limited parking but no big deal. The room seemed nice enough at first. It didn’t get cleaned after the first night but there was a sign telling guests to check at the front desk if they needed clean towels, etc. The morning of my second day, I noticed something nasty. The front desk guy referred me to their Director of Sales and Revenue, who apologized and said that he was going to refund my charges. A month later, I’m still waiting for that. Beware!
Woo Woonius: These guys working here are just as nasty as the smell in this place. They are theives whom will take funds from your account in the hundreds. Angel Fry: Had a blast at The Backer...great staff, great food, great people!! One of my favorite places to stop in South Bend
Tiny E: Great lil Pub ! We had a group of 8 very accommodating. Music was at a good level so we could have a conversation without yelling. Can't wait to go back!
Pirate Slappy: Good drinks, good food, good bartenders, good security guards, great times!!!
Iron Laws: Good food friendly service!
Tom D: Great perch basket.
Doug Hill: Five stars for the tradition and legacy. It's a tad on the dive bar side but a must see if visiting Notre Dame. The bar tenders are great and do an amazing job handling large crowds.
Joel Gould: Great college bar on game day
Joel Lawson: All the times I can remember were great
Mike Norris (Betapixels): Classic ND area bar. Good burgers and cheap beers.
Katty Kat: Good vibes. Free drink with entry fee.
Tom Smith: Great place to visit and have a beer and a burger before ND basketball game!
Bob Kronewitter: One of my all time favorite places to haunt.
Randy Hutton: GarbageTownie staff is on a power trip and tosses around slurs regularly at their customers. Just don’t. Place smells like cow pasture anyway. Can’t tell if it’s the bartenders or the bouncers though. Might be both.
Charles Dugas: Nice bar, usually very crowded after NDFI games. Very lively, enjoyed my brief visit there.
josh fribley: Went for a Notre dame game very exciting atmosphere very good food great place to go before the game
Stephen Dunham: Great place to be before the game. Enjoyed some cold beer and popcorn with friends. Had heaters outside under the tent to expand the party.
Julie Van Slambrook: A must when you go to Southbend! Great music, great cheeseburger!
Patrick O'Brien: The new owner has CRUSHED the mojo with a cover charge during the day. No more of that local feel that makes it so special. We still come but the crowd it totally different.I’m sure they would have made plenty of $$ without it.This bar has been featured on ESPN on Saturdays as being what is still right about college football. Unfortunately, Greed has taken its toll on this.
Ashley Shaw: We had a great time before the game. Wonderful food and great crowd.
Peter Arriaza: Very tasty pole
