J Frey: Buyer be aware. Care from installers is greatly lacking. We went to Bob Miller's based on the impeccable reputation of the previous owner, Bob Miller. Unbeknownst to me, Bob Miller has retired, and his son has taken over the business. The purchase was made November 2021, and installation could not occur until Jan 7, 2022. This was somewhat understandable due to COVID.Jan 7, 2022 two installers arrived at the stated time. Installer A began work under the kitchen sink and quickly reported that he could not turn the shut off valve to the old dishwasher due to corrosion. I suggested that this installation be rescheduled in order for me to hire a plumber to come replace the valve. He insisted that the job could be done by shutting off the main valve. I again suggested/requested that we reschedule and have a plumber come inspect and replace any/all corroded valves. He refused the suggestion. Meanwhile Installer B went to turn off the main valve. Installer B shouted up that he had turned the main valve off. Both home owners immediately turned on faucets to ensure that the water was turned off. Irregardless of the home owners loudly and clearly stating that the water was NOT turned off, Installer A proceeded to disconnect the old dishwasher from the water line. Water GUSHED (their word from their report) everywhere. Water damage was done to kitchen cabinets, floor, lower level ceiling tiles, and lower level carpet. The matter was finally resolved at the end of April 2022.The installation, needed to be rescheduled any way... . and could have been done so without any damage to our home. The incident happened on a Friday. No call from Bob Miller's management or owner on Friday afternoon, Saturday, Monday or Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon, I called them. The owner had seen the report, and I was offered a fan to dry out the lower level carpet.Bob Miller's may sell quality products, however their customer service is greatly lacking.

Mj Philson: We purchased a microwave, refrigerator, range, dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer from Bob Millers as a package. During delivery they took chunks out of our freshly painted walls, cracked a piece of hanging sheet rock, and poorly installed several items. Most recently we have discovered our microwave falling off the wall from a poor installation. Initially when we contacted them about the damages and poor service we were met with skepticism. They eventually agreed to compensate for damages that occurred during their poor service, it is now 1.5 years later and we have yet to see any compensation. This further speaks to their lack of professionalism and accountability. I would be very hesitant to purchase anything from them again, especially considering our purchase was a good chunk of change and we were still treated this way. Good luck if you do use them.

Thomas Flint: We recently bought a new Sharp countertop microwave from Bob Miller's.Though we can't yet say much about the microwave (it arrived only today), we can speak to the exceptional nature of the service that Bob Miller's provides to its customers. Both I and my wife have back problems, and were concerned about our ability to carry our heavy old microwave away and bring in a new one ourselves. We knew that most stores don't usually deliver "small" appliances such as microwaves, but asked if there was any way we could pay extra for delivery. Kathy, our salesperson, offered to bring the new microwave to us herself, on her off day, and take the old one away -- for no charge. As it turned out, Bob Miller's decided to put it on the regular delivery truck instead. The guys who delivered it were terrific: they took the old, heavy, antique away, got the new machine out of the box, and made sure everything was up and running before they left. So, truly outstanding service in every respect! If we end up half as happy with the microwave as we are with Bob Miller's superb employees, we'll be very happy customers indeed!

Brian Bowen: Purchased a Jenn-Air oven 8 years ago from Bob Miller. Early this month the programing buttons quit working. Called Bob Miller and they told me it was a board and they ordered it. When service came 2 weeks latter to install the board they found that it was not the board but the touch pannel. They carged us $150.00 for the service call and said they would order the correct part. Two days latter we get a call saying there may be more than one problem and they feel we should purchase a new stove. They were done working on it. I used to run a service department and I can say that my company does not treat customers like this. We are not very happy with Bob Miller.

But trust me, I WON’T DO IT AGAIN!!!!

They came out told me it was a part that had no mechanical value at all, and stated that they could not get part. I ordered part (feel stupid, cause I knew that would not cause issue). Installed it to learn that no, it did not fix issue. Called them and told them I paid $99 to be mislead. They said sorry, but you were told that we don't service your item. That is the farthest from the truth as you can get. They have no interest in providing quality service or fixing anything. They just want $99 to tell you sorry, nothing we can do for you. So if anyone thinks about calling this place, call me, I'll come out for $50 and tell you sorry! At least this choice will leave you with and extra $49 to use on different service company, or replace item! Older maytag dishwasher, and they are under new ownership, don't know if thats what the issue is or not

Jerry Kretchmer: I came home from work yesterday and my wife told me the dryer wasn’t working. Every time she would turn it on, it would just make a humming sound and the drum wouldn’t spin.My daughter did a quick Google search and discovered it could be a broken belt. She looked a couple of videos on YouTube and found a tutorial on how to check to see if the belt was broken.Long story short; I found the belt to be the culprit. It had broke in two and was laying at the bottom of the dryer.I called Ace Maytag right as they opened this morning and spoke with Chad. Our dryer is twenty years old so we were thinking of getting a new dryer, but we couldn’t wait a week for it to be delivered.I asked for the belt instead and Chad didn’t push me to get the dryer. (The dryer is $700+ vs the belt costing $16 including tax.) I really appreciate a salesperson who has their customer’s best interests in mind.Replaced the belt and it works like brand new. Thanks Chad!I will definitely buy my next new appliance here!

He kicked everyone out of the pool one night and had the audacity to say "This is why I'm not having any Damn kids" when leaving the pool are. He's also very fast to nitpick all the kids when we were hanging out in the lobby area. The other lady who had shorter hair was in the process of asking the kids to leave the breakfast area unless accompanied by an adult. For as much money as our and another hockey team spent to have rooms here. They were very discourteous. TLDR some staff is not kid friendly.

Summer Morris: It is a shame that there are such negative reviews about this place, I'm just going to list off a few things my family and myself liked about our stay...-due to negative reviews we asked to see a room before we payed for one and the man was so kind and genuine about it, infact letting us see 2 rooms-everywhere is CLEAN, we didn't even see dust in places you exspected to see dust-all staff was kind twards all customers and was enjoying eachothers company at work-breakfast was a good selection (even had waffles with toppings to add in the mixture)-large fitness room, good pool area, had a buisness center to do work if needed, good sized rooms, lobby was nice-rooms block out noise and stay warm-good price-beds aren't hard, wake up well restedThis is getting long but we really didn't have any issues with our stay.Rooms: Warm, good sized, quietNearby activities: It's right near town snd theres a buttload of things to do in South Bend

Jennifer Penrod: One of my family members booked a room here for his sons birthday. He planned to let kids swim and do food and presents in the room. He told the clerk when he booked over the phone that it was for this specific reason. When he went to check in they told us we needed to pay $10 per child that was attending and would be swimming. Never in my life have I had a hotel charge for kids to swim. We voiced our dissatisfaction and were met with no empathy or leeway from the front desk. The pool was absolutely disgusting and cloudy. The front desk wouldn't give us more than 1 pool towel per kid and even went as far as telling us to just use the room towels. How would they dry off from a shower if they used to room towels and wouldn't give any extra? I would highly recommend never going to this location. I would rather sleep in my car on the side of the highway. The sheets were stained and the headboards were oily. They also own the hotel in front which is a sleep inn. Probably wouldn't stay there either. Also, after paying cash for kids to swim, they charged the room credit card for the kids. So they obviously don't know what they're doing and have horrible customer service.
Mariah Murray: My insurance booked us a room due to our furnace going out in a snow storm. When I arrived the lady that told me her name was Betty was being very rude to two other guests that were before me in line. When I approached the counter, I told her I have a reservation, but couldn’t even give her the reservation number before she screamed at me no you don’t. I was taken aback and tried to explain to her and show her the email from my company that I do in fact have a reservation. After this she refused to check me in and then stated my company would need to call her to book a room. So while I was on the phone with my company I asked Betty for the number to call her. She stated you know I need to call my boss because I don’t think I want to book you guys in. She then came back and stated that she could not take payment over the phone per her boss. My insurance people were very confused because they have a contract with this hotel. Long story short my house will not be ready and I’m currently in my car in the snow looking for a place to stay. I will never do business here again, and neither will my insurance.

George Koppers: Pool still broak dirty rooms , it's becoming the normal with the private owned quality inns. I do a lot of traveling and the comfort inns and quality inns are becoming nasty hotels. The people buying these properties are scrimping on amenities and are not repairing or thoroughly cleaning the rooms . Breakfasts have become gross also.
Ginna (ginnamwal): I don't recommend this place at all! Even though the rooms were clean and the breakfast offered was good. The pool was closed for renovations, guest laundry didn't work. It was offered for me to use the guest laundry at their other property. However, the staff at the other property was not happy about that. They were rude and we found out the hard way it didn't work. Our clothes never dried. The absolute worst part, is the guest pin pad was BEHIND the desk. The desk clerk took my card, and then to my dismay signed the pin pad on my behalf. When I said something it didn't phase him at all. When I insisted and pressed for both a receipt showing proof of payment for the room and the $20 pet fee ( very reasonable no problem with that at all ) The desk clerk, stated "I will just charge your card and you can get a receipt in the morning". When I said this was unacceptable and I was uncomfortable with that and I wanted one now. He repeated the same thing. Tired from my drive, I nervously just walked away. When, I came back in from unloading my car, the desk clerk had the receipt for the pet fee charge. When I went to the desk in the am for a late check out they happily allowed us to check out at 12. When I went to check out and provide my Choice Privilege number I was told to call Choice they could not do it. When I asked for a receipt of check out. I noticed none of my information was listed on the reservation. My name was wrong, no address information just a generic N/A and South Bend In as my address. This alerted me, I was informed they couldn't change it, and I had to call Choice. The desk clerk had taken my ID and Card the night before and was typing things into the system with them. But no information was in there. This alerted me majorly. When I phoned Choice they didn't seem to be alerted either. This was a MAJOR issue for me. Choice and this property dropped the ball, by encouraging their desk staff to illegally sign my signature into the pin pad. The guest pin pads are for the guests to use to sign their own name! I filed a formal complaint with Choice the same day I checked out 12/28 and I have yet to hear back from the property. I am watching my card closely.

DeKiffany Warren: My stay was good however if I can figure out how to post a picture of the breakfast, you’d be highly disappointed as I was. The eggs for the 2 days I stayed were so hard, overcooked and not for human consumption. Definitely should be more mindful when feeding guest. I’m sure they wouldn’t eat that mess either. They were better off now serving hot food if they were going to serve junk.

Eric Markovich: I am not sure why the negative reviews so I am posting on my own experience. This establishment was cleaner than some I’ve stayed in. We stayed here to attend a ND game. It was just a15 minute drive to the Campus/Stadium. Very acceptable for me. I would stay here again. Beds were okay but some place to sleep as we spent most of our time on campus. I would recommend this place to anyone

Kevin Downs: I know this is a 2 star hotel, but it definitely wasn’t “quality.” Everything was outdated, pool closed, the breakfast was terrible, and the entire place smelled like a foot. Every hotel has some sketchy people, but this hotel seemed to attract it. I gave it 2 stars because I managed to survive my stay there. There are other 2 star hotels nearby doing it better.

Kurt Nufer: As a long time Hilton Honors member, I always first look for a Hilton property when traveling. While planning a visit with my son at Notre Dame, I selected this Hampton Inn. I read some of the reviews that were not good. However, this was a very busy weekend (Junior Parents Weekend) and we decided that we'd trust Hilton and stay at this location.This was a big mistake. The check in staff was very polite. However, the facility was very poorly maintained. Our room (205) was shocking. The inside door handle came off in our hand. The closet door, same. The bathroom floor was dirty, the bathtub base was a shade of black (looking like it had not been properly cleaned in months). There were long black hairs on the shower walls. The club chair was stained in the bedroom. About the only thing that appeared clean were the sheets.I would encourage anyone who trusts Hilton, to stay away. Our room should never have been made available to a guest. period.

R Giles: We arrived after 8pm and we had to wait about 10 minutes for the lady to get back to the check-in counter, she was very pleasant and apologetic. I am a Hilton Honors member and usually will stay at a Hampton if there's one close by. I was shocked at the condition of our room. Mold spots on the ceiling in the bathroom, wallpaper peeling off the walls, and a lot of bumps and bruises. I can't say the room was dirty but it definitely needs updated. Sorry for the negative post, but I expect more from a Hampton Inn.

We were disappointed the pool was closed for maintenance. No hot tub. Guest laundry with one washer and dryer. Good lighting and outlet placement. Breakfast on the lower end of Hampton Inn. The hotel has treats out throughout the day which is a nice touch. Staff is excellent.
Tracey Brown: We always try to find a Hampton anywhere we go. While the staff was very friendly, the room itself and hotel were disappointing. The sheet would not stay on the king size bed., the bathtub floor was not level and angled to the middle. Was difficult to stand in it. The hotel itself must be old. Sarah MapelLentz: If I could give a 0/5, I would. I have contacted customer service at least four times now about our experience, and there’s been so real response. We were scheduled to stay at this hotel mid August for our son’s move in to Notre Dame. We arrived and there was trash literally everywhere on the floor, and our room smelt nauseatingly like smoke covered up by Febreeze. We asked to switch rooms, said we were happy to have a smaller room, two rooms, anything. The front desk person hung up on me and told me she couldn’t handle it. There was another family near us who had been booked into a room for three people, only their son was left without a bed or sleeper. They asked for just some bedding so he could sleep on the floor. The front desk person said there was none - anywhere in the hotel. Our son was supposed to take a Calc placement exam the next morning at 8am, which he ended up missing after we finally found another hotel at 2am. The whole experience was beyond disturbing. I would have never expected this from a Hilton property. We figured writing to the CEO and contacting customer service would get some place, but alas, it has not. So I’m warning others to not use this place. Stay at one of the many other hotels in the area if you want a bed, or at least bedding even if no bed, or at least a room that isn’t making you sick due to the smell (in the nonsmoking room). THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE HAMPTON INN AND SUITES SOUTH BEND, not Home2Suites Mishawaka.

Sunshine DeVos: Kids loved the pool. It was smaller and cold but perfect for my little fish. Breakfast was good. They had apple juice, oj, tea, coffee, toast, bagels, yogurt, produce, cereal, and waffles. Our room had major carpet stains & dirty mirror when arriving. Also a confusion on deposit. I had called day prior and was under the impression my total was different. Had ask for $70 deposit I gave a $100 bill and received a received a receipt for a $100 deposit. As long as I receive my deposit I stand by a 4 star review :)
