I've seen 'em all, from the fancy-schmancy designer showrooms to the discount warehouses where the employees wear vests that say "How may I ignore you today?" But let me tell you when I walked into this place, Nichole was a breath of fresh air. Not literally, of course - the air in the store was perfectly fine, but metaphorically speaking, she was like a gust of wind on a hot summer day.From the moment I walked through the doors, Nichole greeted me with a smile and a willingness to help, and not just the fake kind of help that you get at some stores, where they're just trying to make a sale. Nichole was genuinely interested in finding the best piece of furniture for me. She listened to my needs, asked thoughtful questions, and made recommendations that were spot-on.  She's kinda like a cross between a Swiss Army Knife and a genie in a bottle.  Before you know it, she's got you sittin' pretty on a brand new sofa and your living room looking like a million bucks!  Thank you, Nichole, for making my couch shopping experience a fairy tale come true.

Diane Stier: We are in the process of rebuilding our Columbia City home after losing everything in a fire. Recently, while in Fort Wayne, I had some time to kill, so I thought I would start looking for furniture at Klopfenstein Home Rooms on Lima Road in Fort Wayne. Tiler, the salesperson that greeted me at the door made me feel so comfortable and was so helpful, that I decided to go ahead, right then and there, and pick out the furniture I would need to furnish our house when it is completed. A task that I thought would be a huge endeavor, turned out to be a very pleasant experience. He was very knowledgeable about the quality and construction of the furniture and had great recommendations for our choice of mattress. He was very attentive, but didn't hover. He seemed to know just when to give me some space to look around, but also provided all the help I needed. I made a second trip back with my husband to make sure he liked the choices too, which went better than I expected! Because of the BOGO sale that was in progress at the time, we felt we spent a very reasonable amount of money to furnish our entire home. It was a great shopping experience.

We have bought multiple big ticket items there over the past few years including a beautiful bed frame and now a large sectional. Their team does not pressure you to make a purchase and are very helpful when you do have questions. It is my preferred place to look for furniture because of the service and the large in store selection.

I highly recommend this store!!UPDATEDI HAD to check, and re-check over 9 months from the PROMISED 4 months to have the couch. The store NEVER contacted me with updates. No apologies or contact, nothing FROM them . Finally a apology AFTER I complained. Given excuses excuses excuses. Refused to refund my money. I was NEVER told that could happen. If it was in the fine print i missed it. Blaming everything on covid. Really? So no one can contact me EVER from your store because of covid? Blamed that the original sales person moved so that was why I wasn't contacted. Really? So when she left the store no one took over her people/sales? Excuses after excuses. When ever I went in or called, they are to make a note of that on my account. NO ONE ever did. No updates from them. For the huge amount I spent in here, I had terrible service after purchasing the item. They are all nice up until you buy it. Then they drop the ball and don't care. Furniture is great. Service not at all.

Sally Darr: I am very unhappy with my interactions with this store. I went in January and purchased 2 chairs. One was in stock and the other was on order and supposed to be there in a few weeks. We went ahead and paid for both chairs and took the one home. within 2 days I received a call that the chair would be delayed. Told they were waiting on an electrical part. Should be end of Feb. I thought it was already on it's way? Then it was delayed again told waiting on Leather..probably end of March or April. Went in again and was told oh its delayed waiting on Leather and its in line to be made should be Middle of May. Again thought this was already made/on its way? Called yesterday and told it still hasn't been made but its in production and should be sent to distribution the end of the month we think. So at this point I said never mind I just want my money back. To which I was told I would have to speak with a Manager. Asked to speak to a manager and she wasn't available and would call me back. Never did. Sales rep called me back today and offered me $75 off to which I said I just want my money back and again was told I needed to speak to manager. Again she wasn't available, told probably too busy to get back to me today. I waited 2 hours and went to store. That was soo busy there where 3 sales reps sitting around chitchatting about what another sales rep was doing. Manager came and told me that returning my money wasn't their policy. I was never told this in the beginning or any of the other times I checked on this chair. Stated she would have to take it to someone Higher up, and they aren't available on the weekends. Which is why I called yesterday on a weekday. Response: well it took them all day to find out the status of the chair. Wrong it took her less than a half and hour to call me back with supposed estimate date of end of month and I asked to speak to management about getting my money back at that time and was told she wasn't available and would have to call me back. So I was told it would be taken to the next level and I would be contacted back on Monday. At this point I give this store 0 stars. I still love Lazy-boy which is why I specifically went to this store that is supposed to be so great to work with. At this point I have no chair and no Money??? How would you feel?

J W: We had been on the hunt for some new living room furniture for a while and were getting pretty discouraged by the selection and quality offered by the other furniture places in town. While on our way to a yet another store we decided to stop by Habegger Furniture "just to look"; assuming that we would find a similar disappointing selection as to that offered by the other places we had visited.We were wrong!After a brief stroll through the aisles we finally found a selection that we thought would work well in our home and offered the kind of comfort we have been sorely missing from our current furniture. We had the pleasure of working with Trina, who helped us with every step of selection and purchasing process, and is someone we look forward to working with again should we make more purchases in the future.All in all, a top notch experience so far. We are looking forward to our delivery! (and I will updated the review at that time).

I stand by the sales staff and their ability to help you design a good space.Fast forward…about a year and my call to them about the fabric on the sofa pilling. A few weeks later they came out and ran a lint remover over the couch. Stating that would take care of it and should be good.Fast forward another year. Couch still pilling and looks cheap and dirty. After several phone calls to get a resolution I was told that if I got reupholstered would lose my life time warranty on the couch.Also I was questioned repeatedly about how I used the couch. I use it just like the other 2 Smith Brother couches (which are older) and 3 chairs that have no issues. They do have different fabric but when you buy “cashmere” you don’t expect pilling. Frustrating to have to debate this when it became quite clear they were looking to avoid responsibility. I understand that the warranty is 1 year on fabric but was not given any solution other than they would send someone out to take a look. That’s been months and still haven’t seen them.Now my only solution to this expensive couch is to cover it with a $50 polyester couch cover, which I’m sure they will tell me voids the warranty.The true character of a person or place of business is how they handle problems, and not when things are new and they are making money. I have lost faith in the character of the management and customer service of this business.……This is a great place for quality furniture. The furniture is great but the people that work there are even better. I needed help with designing and furnishing a living room. Trina has a great eye for style and is very knowledgeable on what takes something from ordinary to extraordinary! My room looks brand new and has style and sophistication. Something I would not have figured out on my own. Harold and others that work there are equally as talented. If you need new furniture this is a great place. Diane Daniel: I went to Habegger because their furniture looks so beautiful, and I wanted my living room to look nice. A few months after paying for the furniture and 3 months before it was to be done, I decided I wanted to change the size of my couch to a smaller size, but the saleslady insisted that the size I ordered would work and said it would put me months later on delivery if I changed to a shorter length. Now, I cannot put my couch sideways in the room, as it is too long. I paid $100 extra for couch pillows that were supposed to be very soft like a bed pillow. These pillows were hard as a rock and really flat as a pancake. I had to buy my own. I ordered two swivel chairs, and these are both so uncomfortable, both hard as a rock with no cushioning at all for your arms, and the seats are very hard. The furniture is so heavy that is it impossible for us as seniors to move. Please buy your furniture for comfort, not just for looks, and you will not find comfortable furniture at Habegger Furniture. One last thing. They don't return phone calls, which I think is very rude. I spent a lot of money on furniture that I hate, and I will never shop there again.
Marie Powers: Entered the store to browse on a Saturday afternoon. After informing an older female employee I am "okay and on a call." She proceeded to approach me in the store asking if i was "still on the phone." Quite rude and off putting. She was very overbearing of course I would not want to "girl shop" with you after such acts of entitlement. She literally expected me to get off the phone and acknowledge her. My time, money, day, freedom. Some of us do not need or desire your sale/design tips. Allow your guests to browse peacefully. However the store was nice and the nicest furniture I've seen in this city. I didn't stay long her presence was weird, ruined my energy to find what I needed. Followed around an empty store interrupted every 5 minutes-very distasteful. We are not children.

Kellie Pierce: The furniture pieces are beautiful, stylish and are great quality. The delivery drivers are top notch! They called ahead to make sure we where ready and said they could be earlier than expected and wanted to make sure it was okay if they arrived early. They went above and beyond our expectations! They arrived early for delivery and it was snowing. When I opened the front door to get ready for delivery, I saw the two delivery men shoveling the snow from our sidewalk and porch area to make sure they had a clear path. In addition, they placed quilts down on our floors before walking in our home so they didn’t drag in the winter elements. Lastly, they were very careful when carrying in the furniture to make sure they didn’t dent or scratch the walls. Thank you for your attention to detail!

Kathleen Lukas-Miller: Terrible experience with John Klopfenstein Furniture from 10-17-22 thru 2-22-23. Ordered a "custom" leather recliner which upon delivery was extremly poor quality in spite of a $1500+ price tag. Unable to receive a refund when delivery was refused due to "custom" designation on order. Jason Klopfenstein offered defects to be corrected. Re-delivered on 12-23-22 and within two weeks chair had stretched out leather seat, permanently indented padding on arms and defective mechanical reclining system. Jason Klopfenstein refused to refund sale and advised we pick out another recliner as the only option. Ordered recliner from Lazy Boy Store attached to Klopfenstein (owned by same owners). Lazy Boy Power Recliner quality is nothing like their past reputation AND we needed to add $$ to re-order replacement chair. Jason Klopfenstein refused to comp additional delivery charge because he "had to incur charge to "fix" defective chair." I wonder if this furniture store is selling furniture seconds. Avoid dealing with this store and family. Very disappointed in what was to be a Christmas gift. Would have given zero stars if able to but the delivery men were very nice.
Scott Thum: When they had us take the floor model at the same price as new, I should have been skeptical. When they charged us a much higher price until I corrected their math, I should have walked. When the $2500 couch started buckling after a couple months, I was stuck. The person they sent out was honest and nice, but basically said the couch was made poorly and couldn't handle my weight {210lbs). They did replace cushions, but new ones collapsed after about 2 months also. Just an overall garbage experience.

Brandon Caldwell: Went in to browse furniture for a living room we have unfurnished. Found 2 sectionals after the sales employee Alyssa showed us the differences between the 2. We chose the one we wanted maybe took my wife and I an hour to decide on the fabrics for the pillows and sectional. We ended up being there for 3 hours. The employee was a nice lady. I don’t know if it was info she just didn’t have on the back end for financing but that process should be sped up. Felt kind un organized and they didn’t really have a price breakdown on a sheet. Seems like it’s either intentional or they just haven’t thought of having an itemized print out you can look at. They did give us 12 month financing when it was only supposed to be 6, so thank you for that. Great place very informative when it comes to the product quality but the process could be tightened up a bit.
patnuk1: Had a horrible experience with this place when we purchased a couch set from them a few years back. It was a rainy and a very windy day and they could not wait to throw us out into the rain as soon as it was close to closing time. They closed the door behind us, leaving us getting soaked outside. The employees we dealt with had such an arrogant and lackadaisical attitude towards customers.Will not shop there again. The experience left a bitter taste in the mouth.

THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT A SALE NOT THE SERVICE THEY AREE PROVIDING. ***UPDATE TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW***IT HAS BEEN 22 DAYS AND STILL NO ONE HAS CALLED ME BACK. 17 DAYS AGO I ORDERED THE CONTROLLER I NEEDED ON-LINE, IT CAME FROM AUSTRALIA AND IT HAS BEEN DELIVERED, INSTALLED AND WORKS WONDERFULLY. SO SAD LOCAL SHOPPING WASN'T AN OPTION.
Alex Lizurej: If I could give this place a zero star I would. The sales people here lie straight to your face and make fake promises. They told me that I would receive my pillow in 2 weeks. 5 weeks later I still hadn't recieved my pillow so I decided to go into the store to cancel my order. The greedy sales women then informed me that they would not refund my money even though I still hadn't received the pillow. Terrible customer service, extremely overpriced and poor quality. Would not recommend
Keira Carrasco: We were wampum welcomed by sales associate Tom who was kind enough to show us around the entire store as we did have a bit of a picky taste but we ended up finally finding the perfect one. Tom was very patient and kind and not pushy at all. He allowed us to look through the covers because we weren’t in love with the fabric on the couch on display so he allowed us to browse through all of them until we were happy with it. Will recommend to anyone with furniture needs!

crystal loshe: Was not pleased when I specifically asked if the table we were purchasing would be coming out of the warehouse and was told yes....so not floor model...ok we'll buy. Drive 40 miles to pick up to save the $130 delivery fee just to find out the table was a floor model. On top of that, it had been broken and they glued it, numerous scratches and dings plus flaking paint. And they only wanted to take $100 less.... um, no matter how much money your offering off not buying damaged goods especially when their still over a $1000. Sad, you used to be good store with honesty guess that's gone. Well, so is my business!!!
Rebecca Comer: This place is great until you need something repaired. Then they lie, lie, lie to you. When that doesn’t work then they insult your intelligence. The repair department is the worst. Even if your furniture is under warranty they will not tell you the truth and they will resort to demeaning you. Don’t spend your hard earned money here because they will not fix the problem. They will just add to your headache!
Kristen Gebhart: I would have given zero stars if I could --- we ordered a couch and all seemed great UNTIL it was delivered. We never received a phone call or saw the delivery come to our home. I called and there was never a return phone call. The next day in the pouring down rain we drove to our lake home to check on something and our couch was sitting in that driveway. Mind you we have not had furniture delivered out there in 10 years.....our receipt for this couch NEVER had this address on it. I called several more times as the couch is damaged, it was not delivered to the right house that was on the receipt. AND WE STILL HAVE NOT GOTTEN A PHONE CALL BACK!!!! This is terrible service. We will not purchase anything from here again.

I continued to walk the entire store and was not addressed until I was frustrated and just about to walk out the door a gentleman named Tyler said something. Sorry Tyler...to little to late. I will move on.
Grace Archbold: Purchased a new love seat and reclining sofa was told i was able to pick up on Wednesday & then was called the day of i couldn’t pick it up off the Illinois road.I also called in the day of pick up to make sure there was guys to load it and was told yes. I was lied to and now have to re arrange my schedule to drive further to get my things.
Hieu Nguyen: Bought a table, paid cash. Per usual they keep moving the date further back. Heard from the salesman twice on the status of the table, btw that's total. Still do not have my table it has been over 3 months. Not only that the salesman said the price included the warranty... Surprise it was not. Will speak to a manager soon regarding business ethics of their staff and professionalism.My two cents take your business elsewhere. The staff is hit or miss with professionalism and the business ethics is below par. You can buy furniture online with the same quality for less hassle and know you'll be getting it at a set promised delivery date.Will never do business with them again.
