Yumz Up Cooking Classes For Kids LLC.: what do users think?
Tina Quassy: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Girl Talk With Zyra Rose: My daughter loved this cooking classes! She came home with lots of treats and great excitement from mixing and measuring and identifying kitchen utensils. This class is definitely building great and amazing memories for my baby. As a parent I'm excited for her! And thankful someone has created a comfortable space for our babies. Its reasonable and she will definitely be a regular at this safe establishment.
Monique Nelson: My Son and friends had a blast Ms.Cherice was very professional and loving my son learned a lot...
candice quarles: We celebrated my daughter's 6th birthday with a cooking party hosted by Yumz Up! The kids had a great time. The party decor was super cute and Ms Cherice was very professional & fun!
Roleen Demmings: My kids had so much fun cooking, learning chef techniques, kitchen safety and team work!
toy toy: Thanks so much for having a cooking class for kids!! My daughter enjoyed cooking and definitely stated she would like to return for another class.. see you soon!!
Tamara Jones Hines: My daughter really enjoyed the class. Not only did she learn to cook a dish by recipe but she also learned to set a table properly. She attended a class on 7/7/19 & asked if she could attend another one either this upcoming Thursday or Sunday. She did not want to leave when I picked her up. I will definitely allow her to attend classes in the near future & I especially love that it is located within a 3 minute drive from our home.
cpa spaud: My 7 year old daughter love the cooking class. She enjoyed every bit of it.
Mahogany wells: My daughter loves Yumzup classes, she gets excited when I tell her she’s going. After the class is over she’s eager for the next one. She’s talks about how much fun she had, but more importantly how good the food is! It’s definitely a fun hands on experience for young children boys and girls. I recommend it to everyone!
Brandy Woodson: My daughter looks forward to her cooking classes weekly is a great learning /cooking experience for her 😊

Sur La Table: what do users think?
Andrzej K: Did a the Thai date night cooking class recently. Overall this class was okay sharing a single burner with 3 other people was disappointing because most of us were standing around for 3/4 of the class luckily we had some wine. The other disappointment was the menu had coconut lime sorbet, which ended up being already pre-made for us so we were able to experience that in the class which should be stated when booking.Maybe another class might redeem this experience but at 90 dollars I was expecting more.
Ashley Richardson: Had an amazing Thai cooking class with chef Tony, would highly recommend!
Violet Feaster: Date Night Thai cooking class was so much fun! The chef was knowledgeable and helpful. We would definitely recommend and look forward to doing this again!
Kelly Stukenberg: I attended one of the pasta cooking classes and management of the class was extremely poor. Only verbal directions were given from the instructors, and it was very hard to hear. No demonstrations were done for the entire class to understand the steps. The instructor who knew the recipe better did attempt to help individually, however, there was not enough equipment for the entire class to do all steps at the same time. At the end, you were able to try the food you made. The ravioli was pretty good but the cannenoli was not even cooked. We consulted an instructor who tested the temperature and claimed it was cooked. After consulting the second teacher, he agreed the pasta was not cooked (we're talking sticky dough consistency). He told us to take it home and cook it longer in the oven. VERY DISPLEASED with this class given the money spent to attend and unappetizing result.
Kim “2XTREME” Lange: Took the Thai cooking class. Knowledgeable instructor and had fun.
Elisa Doll: I have concerns about a recent purchase that is also my first and likely last purchase. I bought some pricey hot chocolate as a gift for someone but the item I received has a torn off sticker on the front. For an expensive purchase it's worrisome because the sticker could mean it had been reduced price in store (for age or promotion). As a gift it's irritating because I have to try to remove it without damaging the art on the tin. As a consumer, if I pay more than is usual for a product I expect more from the product, and that includes the packaging. I cannot speak to the quality as of yet as I haven't yet gifted it. I hope that will make up for the initial disappointment. And it's why I am reluctant to give lower stars, though I still felt it's an issue that other consumers sgould be aware of, but is also too small to contact customer service (especially so close to the holidays). It's also good feedback for the company as I am sure that my expectations are not extraordinary.
Carol Metz: Trying to do some Christmas shopping on limited time, but frustrating when the store doesn’t open and it’s 10:10 . Lost two customers because of it. It was snowing and cold so waiting outside is very cold. More and more stores are not trustworthy.
W C: Terrible customer service
Tammy Owen: We were there for the date night cooking class. Chef Sarah, Josh and Donna were great. Lots of fun!! Signed up fir the knife skills class in a couple of weeks.
Wiley 6: My daughter just completed the Teen cooking class at the location in Carmel, Indiana and I wish I could say we were impressed. They didn’t do the mystery box on the last day, the Chef only lead the class the first day and they sent the kids home with undercooked brownies on the last day and told them they could finish cooking them at home. Not what we expected or paid for. Wish we had a better experience. We got a refund for the second week that she was going to attend because my daughter was not happy with them cutting out the mystery basket and the other issues with this week, she looked forward to doing that all week. Not worth the money if your kids want to really learn something. The food did not taste good either. I called to give feedback about our experience and was supposed to be contacted… still waiting.
theresa predmore: I gave one star because I can't give it a zero. Bought silverware sets and went to return and they hasled me about it. I had a fire and needed to replace my whole kitchen glad I only bought silverware to see if I liked the place and will never go to this store again. Beware horrible customer service. Took two trips and my husband to receive what was right.
Jake Wagner: Half my kitchen is from sur la table. We love their supplies, so when my significant other and I were recommended the cooking classes by one of the store employees we booked one. We have now tried to go 3 times. The first two were cancelled due to not enough guests. The third was cancelled due to employee illness. At least they were refunded. Very frustrating.
Jeannie Milan: Took the cooking with wine class, Scott was a great chef and instructor. Will take another class!
Jw Lee: They manage their cooking classes poorly. I bought Christmas cookie class and valentine cooking class for my kid but they canceled both with last minute notice. Going to a Sprout cooking class seems like a better option.
Maks Luthra: This review is exclusively for the poor management and lack of communication for the cooking classes. I purchased in-store cooking class as an anniversary present for me and my husband, and was charged $158 on my credit card. We reached the Carmel location for the class in heavy rain only to find that the store was locked but there were some other people waiting for the cooking class, so we thought maybe the instructor is running a bit late due to the rain. At 9:10 AM, an employee came. She told us that she cannot let us in but basically, there is no cooking class. She mentioned that the cooking class was canceled a week ago due to unavailability of the instructor and after checking the roster, she told us that someone may have tried calling me and would have left a voicemail.First, I didn’t have any missed call or voicemail in the past 10 days that I did not know about. Second, I was not refunded. This should’ve been the first thing they should've done if cooking class was canceled a week ago. Third, the person should have tried calling the alternate phone number (which I checked was there on the roster) or tried sending me an email to make sure the message was conveyed. It's been 4 days and I have still not received the refund. I have followed up with the store over email and have not heard back. I finally called their customer service today and a gentleman told me that in the system, he does not see that the cooking class was cancelled, so he is unable to issue a refund but he is escalating this to a team so they can review my case and follow up, which I appreciate.I am not sure if there is disconnect between the corporate and store management, but a client should not have to pay for this nonsense. You wasted our time on the day of the cooking class and are still withholding our refund for your lack of professionalism.
Rosette Fernandez: The manager Liz was incredibly rude on the phone after she let me know the class I purchased with my 9 yo daughter was no longer available bc there was no instructor. This class was a Christmas gift and there was no attempt to help rectify the situation or offer another class. I was told I needed to rebook but I knew the other classes were full. Also all of the classes are 14+ age, so I have no alternatives. I understand things happen but when there is no attempts to be kind or helpful that’s not ok
Jeanne Deangulo: So many cool kitchen gadgets!!
Ryan Mossakowski: I love Sur La Table due to the knowledge and customer service they have! Ever time I walk into the store I am greeted and notice how clean and organized everything is. If there is ever anything I need they are willing to help.I just recently had to deal with customer service and it was such a positive experience! I emailed them all the information and it was fixed shortly afterwards (less than an hour). I was very impressed!Wonderful company on all fronts and I’m happy spending my money there!
Brad Thurber: Friendly and helpful - but sometimes to the amount I would call hovering. I wish they would stock more of the products they carry on their website that get great reviews. The cooking class area looks very well equipped.
Heather Bailey: We did a cooking class at this location. It was super hands on and super fun! We made all of the food that we cooked. Learned some good cooking techniques. I will definitely plan to go back another time. Talking about planning our next date night there already. We made risotto, salmon, a new way to make a delicious fresh salad, and made a pastry. Chef Mel was a wonderful instructor! We was offered 10% off everything in the store after our class, and a discount on a future class, too. ..again, super fun, and totally will go back!
Mojo: Over-priced kitchen stuff but if you dig you will always find a deal. Nice place, friendly staff

Katsumi's Teaching Kitchen: what do users think?
MONIKA G: We were looking for an alternative event for a team building / get-to-know-each-other event and found Katsumi’s Teaching Kitchen online.  We had such a wonderful time and so much laughter!  The Summer rolls and California rolls, Miso soup, and cake were delicious, and we were taught all about how the quality of rice and its preparation lays the foundation for really good sushi. We also learned how to create a wonderful Umami flavor in our Miso soup.Mori also taught us about Japanese cuisine and culture but most of all, we had an absolute blast that evening and I cannot remember when the last time was that I laughed this hard and for so long.Thank you, Mori, for the super fun evening!
Delaney Ryder: Very educational! We learned about ingredients, cooking, culture, etiquette, and more! Everything we made was super tasty, especially the rice and the cake. Mori is very knowledgeable. Would absolutely recommend for anyone interested in learning about Japanese cooking or is enthusiastic about Japanese culture.
Meredith Sharp: My husband and I love Japanese food so I was looking for a Sushi making class for Valentine's Day. And I'm so glad I found Mori and Katsumi's Teaching Kitchen online because it truly was a wonderful experience. Mori is absolutely hilarious and had us laughing the entire evening. She also shared with us her wealth of knowledge and we learned so much about Japanese cuisine and culture. The food we learned to make was delicious - the type of rice and method of preparation really makes a difference in the taste and texture of sushi. We especially liked learning how to make spring rolls with peanut sauce - it was surprisingly easy! This weekend we plan to visit the Japanese mart in Castleton to buy items to make our own sushi at home. Thank you Mori for the guidance and an exciting evening of Japanese cooking!
Aaron Vaillancourt: My wife and I recently attended this class and we had a wonderful time. We wanted to learn how to prepare and roll sushi (which we did), but also learned how to make spring rolls, miso soup, a dessert, and even learned a bit about chopstick etiquette as well as some general history. Mori was delightful and humorous. We certainly plan on coming back for another class.
Tracy Sullivan: My daughter and I attend the intro to sushi making class a couple of weeks ago. It was so much fun! Mori was informative and a great host. We made the same recipes at home last weekend. Yum! I would highly recommend this experience.
Grant Rogers: I gifted the class for my girlfriend for Christmas. It turned into a perfect date night. We had so much fun making the food. The instructor was knowledgeable and relaxed the class with her easy going personality. I would recommend this place for anyone interested in Japanese food.
Alexyss Jackson: Our experience was truly beautiful— Mori is kind & funny, making the class relaxed and comfortable. We had wonderful conversations the entire time! We will definitely be going again sometime :)
Rachel Estridge: My father always wanted to learn to make sushi so we attended the Intro to Sushi class and we were blown away! Mori not only gives you the skills and experience but she also provides extensive information, history, and context of the supplies and ingredients. As a retired lieutenant colonel of USMC, my father has quite the poker face. But on the way home he expressed how much he truly enjoyed this class! He’s excited to visit the Asian markets Mori recommended so he can have his own sushi night at home :) Couldn’t recommend this class more!
Virginia Skye: Mori was a blast and such a great teacher. Will be coming back for the ramen class!
Kelsey: Everything was delicious and Mori was a fantastic (and hilarious) teacher. The class is super hands on, but Mori does a great job at breaking things down so you feel confident.I definitely recommend taking a class if you’re looking to up your home cooking game or if you just want a fun afternoon with killer food.
Alicia Tucker: I absolutely loved this sushi class!!!! Mori is an incredible Japanese Cooking Class Teacher. I am hiring her again for catering and personal chef services as well. The Fresh ingredients and Authentic Japanese Cooking secrets make Katsumi's a local destination treasure! I Highly recommend learning from or hiring Chef Mori.
Light Matter Promotions: Katsumi's Teaching Kitchen catered an event for us but they also offer private cooking classes, personal chef services and team building classes. We were so impressed with the high quality ingredients and the difference in authentic Japanese Cuisine. We highly recommend Mori and Katsumi's Teaching Kitchen in Beech Grove, Indiana.
Tim Hughes: Had a blast. It felt like having your quirky aunt teaching you some recipes. You really need some basic cooking knowledge for the street food class. If you can make pancakes and stir-frys you'll be fine.
Z C: Mori is charming, hilarious, and a good teacher. The food was excellent and we were taught everything we needed to prepare this food at home.
Rachel McFadden: So fun and so delicious! We had a great time learning about Japanese cuisine and culture while we made spring rolls, sushi, miso soup, and cake! Lots of laughs and full bellies!
Mary Lajiness (Mary L): We really enjoyed the Ramen Noodle class! Mori is a delightful and entertaining teacher, and in addition to letting us do everything ourselves, she provided all the information we needed to duplicate our creations at home. The food we prepared was delicious!
Stephanie Haskett: Wonderful lesson and would highly recommend, I took the Ramen class and learned so much! As part of the class we learned potstickers, as well as a steam cake dessert, all the steps were explained clearly and easily. Recipes that I had thought of as overwhelming and hard, were broken down and made easy.I'm super excited about cooking the recipes I learned for my anime loving family!
Maria Hannah: So much fun! We loved our experience - this really is a gift that keeps on giving ❤️🍣❤️Pros:•Fun (teacher is humorous)•User friendly step-by-step process•Detailed•Explains local stores and allows photos for what to buy so you can take what you learned homeRoom for Improvement:•Nothing! Awesome experienceWorth the trip and will be talking about this to others 🙂
Jacki Hoffman: Purchased a class for the family for Christmas. We had two members that were coming in town from New Mexico the week between Christmas and New Years and she was very accommodating and allowed us to schedule a class during that week. We had a great time and learned a lot in the beginners Sushi class. Kids indicated they would like to do another class in the future…maybe ramen noodle course. I would highly recommend!
Corey Ward: Great time with the wife learning how to make Japanese food and learning about the ingredients and culture.
Danielle Fuller: We had a great time for my daughter's 10th birthday. Mori was so patient with our 9 kiddos and 3 adults. We underestimated how much time we needed and Mori completely accommodated despite our distracted kiddos. Give yourself time so she doesn't have to rush. Otherwise this outing was perfect!

Sprouts Cooking School: what do users think?
Jefa Sheehan: Clean and safe environment with classes that I feel are geared towards kids that have very little to no experience in the kitchen. Both of our kids enjoyed their classes and camp for the most part but said they wished the classes would have been more in depth or that they would have been allowed to do more. We probably won't use them in the future because I do feel that the cost is a bit much given the skills and recipes covered, but if you're someone that doesn't cook at home or let your kids help you cook, this is a good way to get them some exposure. Staff is always very friendly and helpful.
stephanie schell: Our nine year daughter loves Sprouts Cooking School! We live on the Southside and make the trip North for her to spend a few hours baking & cooking with other kids. Tonight’s class was a hit, a baking competition.
Joe Pople: Sprouts is great for families and even little kids. We did a summer dessert class and it was really awesome.
Stephen Groce: Cool fun for the kids. Friendly, clean, professional for kids and adults!
Angela McClung: Most enterprising place to work! So much positive energy!!!

Macaron Bar: what do users think?
Pamela Scott: Delicious macarons, fairly priced, and great service. We were in and out pretty quickly but didn't feel rushed. There was a nice variety of ready macarons. The associate who was behind the counter gave recommendations and explained the pricing (although there was a sign as well.) When we finally got around to trying them, there were no bad flavors. These were well made and delicious. Will definitely be back.
Kelly Stukenberg: I took a macaron baking class a few months ago and the instructor was phenomenal! Instructions were clear and guidance was given to correct technique. The end product was fantastic. Can't wait to try at home.
J V: Delicious desserts!
Colleen O'Sullivan: Decided to take the Macron making class. We were a little nervous because a 3-hr class could go either way. Jen was TREMENDOUS! She did an excellent job walking us through each step, with helpful hints and tidbits, equal parts serious and funny. It was SO worth it! Try to get Jen - you won’t regret it! Added bonus - boatloads of macrons and the recipes!!!
Maggie Vaitkus: Such a lovely place! The woman behind the counter was incredibly helpful and friendly, and of course the macaroons were delicious with really creative flavors. Will definitely be back sometime!
Hubert H. Gottfried J. D.: Received very kind service tonight! Definitely stop in— very cute shop!
Diego Silva: Son sabrosos, la atención es buena. El lugar es muy bonito.
Amelia B: I recently ordered a 7 tier macaron tower for our holiday party. The macarons were a smash hit- the whole party raved about them as they were absolutely delicious. The customer service was great- I will continue to order from them.
Shane Howard (Dead Man's Hand): Fast service, delicious macarons. Simple.
Sofia Wicker: Delicious!!
brownie 97: Very nice people! Such a cute gift idea.
Ian Mast: Love everything here! The new blueberry cheesecake macaron is amazing and my go to lemon lavender is .
Hakunnah Mu-tAH-TAH: I love it. I had an issue months ago and when I returned recently I expressed my concern with the last batch I had and the employee just made it right and made sure I was taken care of. I was so pleased with my order I came back days later & when she saw me in line she came up to me and asked how that batch was for me, i told her it was way better. That meant a lot for me, seeing that she cared about my experience and ensuring that everything was good. 5 stars Macaron Bar! You have a returning customer .
Jason Zarate: Amigos son muy buenos, 100% recomendado, tienen diferentes sabores y un excelente servicio
Judy Jones: Delicious...large variety...fum
David Mitchell: We made the best macarons at our first attempt.
Maria Khan: Really nice customer service and large quantity of flavors. They offer a free birthday macaron which has been a nice treat when meeting up with friends for their birthday on mass ave. The macarons are reasonably priced ($2.50 each) and sized. I also saw during my last visit they offer cooking classes ($84 for 3 hours) which sounds like a really fun activity to do.
Westin Williamson: Best in the city!
Tyler Spiker: Good macaroons, but they are pretty pricey and sadly there's not a very broad selection. I would justify the cost if there were more options.
Victoria Harrison: First time having fresh macaroons and I was not disappointed! The 6 macaroons box is a great way to try their many different flavors! They also offer a macaroon class that shows the in's and out's of perfecting these little treats!
elizabeth sittinger: so, I've been reluctant to leave a review because I have worked in bakeries for over ten years, and I know sometimes bad batches are produced.. but I was not very impressed by these macaroons. The over all macaroon appeared to be nice looking, fluffy, high feet, but it had a lack of filling and they were incredibly hard. The pistachio flavor I purchased you can clearly see a color difference at the base which indicates it was over baked. My other concern with the shop was they were not kept refrigerated, perhaps they rotate product regularly to maintain standard, or maybe they sell that quickly to not need proper storage. Overall, I would expect more from a bakery that specializes in one specific product, I do feel the price is very fair for macaroons though. I likely won't be back since I live in Lafayette and happened to find this cute shop when I was walking through Indianapolis, but figured I would leave input.

Jenifer Richart: I used to love this place so much and would tell everyone I knew to give it a try. Hopeful that the new location with the larger venue would not take away from the original charm, we tried it today for lunch, and our experience wasn't good. The space is beautiful, but no longer feels like a "hidden gem", the small quaint cozy vibe is gone. The coffee used to be amazing, but it was watered down. They no longer offer fresh squeezed juice. We were told it would be 30-45 minutes until our food arrived, which we were ok with, but we finally left after the hour mark had come and gone. We took our food to go; it was a sorry, soggy, cold salad. I'm really bummed that I have to go searching for a new favorite hidden gem.
Holly Hospel: Really fun me new spot for celebrations and family gatherings. Energetic vibe.
Josiah McCruiston: This place did better the second time around. The service top notch and the food was better. I has the black garlic chicken wings and croissant waffles with the Blood Orange Sidecar. Plus 3 delicious pastries.A redeeming visitGive Jason, Batman, and Robin a raise 🙌🏿

Napoleon Maminta: Beautiful space. Great energy. Beautiful pastries. We ordered at 1130 am and at 1 pm no food. We changed it to takeout and still waiting. Jason, the bartender, was efficient and kind and provided a discount. I realize that it's newly minted so service will suffer. I will reassess in 6 months. This place has potential!!Ok ..got our food at 115 pm and received the standard " apologies" for the delay. Got home and tasted iron skillet steak with eggs Benedict. Tasty and very good, but one egg over cooked. I attribute this due to service issues from a new restaurant as well. AGAIN, I still believe in this establishment and will return. Looking forward to this restaurant DRAMATICALLY IMPROVING!!This the NEW LOCATION ON College Ave across from Root and Bone. Did the kitchen staff turnover as well?
Dusty Sheckles: Stopped by to grab a pastry and coffee. My croissant was frozen. Suboptimal.

Amanda Kennedy: Overall, beautiful interior, excellent hostess, fast pre-bus rate, delicious food.Bad though? Service is wiffle - waffle. We went early (9am) to break in before the busy crowd and in hopes to ensure if we took the busy service out of it, we could focus on how well service is.Instead, our server forgot our sodas, wasn't sure about the differences in the lattes served, and when it came to getting the check closed, as if we wanted change. I work in the industry as well but when you are the front man of a business, please never ask if someone wants change. It's abrupt and kind of rude. We said we were good, but if they would have spent the extra 10 seconds bringing the change more cash would have been left.Overall, a 4 star. Staff needs to be trained not to push on tips (even if it's not intentional like it was here). Server training to ensure that they're not pushing would be fantastic, but man. This place for some potential. We will give it 3 months and come back. The shrimp and grits were fantastic though. Lee Gaines: I don’t typically leave reviews (good or bad), but this was the worst meal I’ve had in awhile. My partner and I came for dinner. Maybe that was a mistake since this place is known for its brunch. And we’ve had brunch at their former location — it was solid, a little pricey but decent enough.Anyway, we were excited to try their new location. They’ve clearly put a lot of work into the ambience, which is nice. All the waitstaff were super friendly, too. Most of the menu is just… brunch basically… which is strange to serve at night. They have a handful of vegetarian options and maybe like one vegan option. And the dinner menu is ala carte and wildly expensive. We ordered:- sparking lemonade (it was decent)- the bread basket (a little bland and uninteresting and but fine)The dish that really did it for me was the mushroom tartine. It’s a $17 piece of toast covered with a handful of burnt mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and a hollandaise sauce that tastes like mayonnaise. I ate half of it and was deeply disappointed. My partner got the half chicken. He was similarly disappointed. It was small, dry, bland and he said it tasted reheated. I didn’t try it so I’ll take his word for it.We also ordered the mashed potatoes as a side. Like the tartine, the potatoes came covered with a handful of burnt mushrooms. The mushrooms were bad and the potatoes were bland.I want to support small business. And I really wanted to like this place. But they need to improve their dinner menu and the quality of the food coming out of their kitchen.Vegetarian options: Few options for vegetarians
Jim St John: Excellent Asparagus Soup, DeliciousDesserts an Entrees / had 1/2 Chicken & steak . Presentation Lovely.
