The Avenue Bicycle Station: what do users think?
Eddie Goddard: I work there.
Mikaela Farrugia: Great bike shop! Super knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. They took the time to explain to me my options, specifics of my secondhand bike, and had very reasonable prices and quality equipment. I would absolutely recommend to anyone. Plus the music in the store was an A+ and it's very accessable by bike.
First “Sprouts”: Took my 2 bikes told them I think my crank is what's making noise they replaced the pedals cost me way too much still made the noise took it back again got it back still grinding ...just found out it is the hubs all along don't waist your time and money!!
21hellos Gaming: Local business. Still, one of the best for anything. Person was very nice and helped me quickly, even though he was working on another bike. 10/10, would recommend.
Deborah Haggin: They fixed my bf bike ,he did a wonderful job,its like its brand new,an he has lots of bikes for sale, plz check it out ..I would recommend going an checking his bikes out,an if you need your bike fixed I would strongly recommend this shop..No.1#

I was more than delighted to find a shop that would recondition my father’s antique Schwinn bicycle !The owner was extremely knowledgeable about the reconditioning process and did an outstanding job! The bicycle was serviced, cleaned ,and reconditioned in one week! I would highly recommend Avenue Bicycle company.

Bill Entenmann: I live on Long Island. My son is a student athlete at Notre Dame. I called John and explained that my son had a problem with his Swagtron Swagger 5E electric scooter. John said that he would take a look at it and determine if he could fix it. He gave me both his store and personal cell numbers and asked that my son call him directly. My son spoke with John. John met my son on the ND campus, picked up the scooter and brought it back to his shop. John was able to make the repair to a loose fender and met my son the next morning on the ND campus for a drop off. Simply put: Outstanding service, great repair and at a very reasonable price. John and the Avenue Bicycle Station are tops in my book. Thank you John!

Pro Form Bike Shop: what do users think?
Bob Bella: Took a bag of Walmart mongoose broken parts and pictures from my phone. 10 minutes later got what I needed in and out and very knowledgeable friendly.
blair zordell: I needed to replace a broken derailleur quickly (racing on Saturday). With the internet suppliers, I know that quick service is not always possible. I called proform Monday afternoon, and they did not have it in stock. Ken checked with the supplier and ordered it for me. Arrived on Wednesday!
Britt O'Brien: Very friendly and helpful. I'm fairly new to the cycling scene and needed some assistance with finding a bike rack for my car. I've previously had some bad experience with other shops where I felt as though I was being snubbed due to my lack of knowledge, but not at all here! Not only did the gentleman assisting me help me to find the proper product, but he was kind enough to show me how to set it up.
Obed Antwi-Baidoo: A good man running the shop with good skills
scott davis: I took my Specialized bike there to repair a broken derailuer ...chain... and tune up.... this bike came back way better than it was brand new!!....great work guys.... and reasonable prices too!!
David E: Great bike shop to visit! They had supplies I have been looking for back home without any luck!
Steve Liskey: To say these folk are helpful is a understatement. Went in on a Sat and they spent an hour answering any and all of the wife and my novice questions. Helped us repair an older bike instead of pressuring us for sales. Wife was guided towards a solution for her road bike even when it move a sale away from them. Took my old bike, spent a ton of time to help me find a fix for it... three other shops would not look at it. To busy. There is no novice beware here. The folks gave us simply one of the best experiences we have had at any store let alone bikes. Mad props to these great folk, not going anywhere else.
Dave Grundy: Had a great experience getting a tire fixed here. I've been to a couple of other bike shops in South Bend and this place blew the others away. I can't believe I never realized this was here. It'll be the first and last stop for my cycling needs from now on.
Matthew Black: Even though they didn't have bikes in our price range, they were very helpful.
Quintin: Very helpful staff and decent prices for a local shop. The staff assisted me in getting the right parts to upgrade a old Fuji into a very reliable, smooth urban single speed. The pricing to have the rear cassette replace, I don’t have the tools, was very reasonable.
G Kame: They sell quality products and provide excellent customer service.
Matthew Fulcher: Fast and friendly service. Had a simple flat--were able to fix on the spot.
Bruce Corbett: Ken and his wife own an awesome shop!! Ken and the guys did amazing job on working and upgrading my ride. Always a pleasure to walk in your shop!! Bianchi rules!!!!
Carl Arelt: They always do as they promise.I ran out of stuff to do on my bike, so I’m now starting to take friends bikes over there.
Stephen Hicks: I never thought I could afford a bike from a real bike shop. However, I was wrong. Ken was great and made it worthwhile and even fitted me to the bike. I have enjoyed many miles on my Scott over the past few years and now am in need of tires and tubes. Even though they are slammed with ND students returning and race season, they are going to get me going before my trip south. This is a great shop with great folks that love to ride!
Jon Grimes: Wow! Customer service and knowledge are unprecedented.
Daragh Fogarty: Quick and friendly service. Prices are standard but not too crazy
Andy Heilmann: Super friendly and knowledgeableThey don't make me feel weird like some other bike shops
Ken Smith: I called this bike shop to see if they would consider shipping a bike since they are an authorized Bike Flights dealer. I told them that I had a vintage reproduction bike. I explained that I was going to purchase the bike if they would ship it. The lady told me they would. So, I purchased the bike and told the customer I purchased the bike from to deliver it here. I then called them to explain the bike would be delivered, and the owner stated that he refused to accept the bike from the seller stating that he was a problem. Apparently he had a previous bad experience with him. I tried to explain to the owner that he was only dropping the bike off because I had no way to get it there. I would be the person paying for shipping but he refused stating he would not accept the bike. No matter what I tried to do to convince him that I would be the one dealing with this, he refused. As much as I hate to post a negative review, I also am a business owner. In my right mind, I could not commit to providing a service, and then back out of doing what I committed to do, regardless of the situation. I believe in honoring what you say you will do even if it means you have to bite the bullet. In this case, the owner just did not want to deal with him dropping the bike off even though I told him, I would make sure he didn't say anything. Deeper into the conversation, the owner stated he didn't want to ship such a bike and it would be too much of a hassle and would probably have to go truck freight. If that's the case, then why are you an authorized shipper with Bike Flights? For a first time experience with this shop, this just doesn't leave a good taste in my mouth. While both the owner and lady (Might be owner's wife just not sure) were both polite to me, it still doesn't help the situation I was placed in. The whole reason I called first before purchasing the bike was to make sure they would ship the bike. Now, I have the hassle of trying to get my money back. If you as a business owner are not sure of complete details, ask before you commit to something, not after.
Kevin Berger: They are very knowledgeable and helpful.
Eric Johnson: I noticed problems with my shifting and was in South Bend from out of state for a race the next morning. I called and asked if they could look at it right away. They said yes, and an hour later when I arrived they immediately attended to my bike and fixed the problem. Crisis averted and and I had a great race the next day! Thank you!

Albright's Cycling & Fitness: what do users think?
Chris H: Was planning on buying a bike. Went inside and was the only person in the store with 3 people working. It tooks 5 minutes for somebody to offer to help me or ask if I had any questions, which I did. I had been here multiple times in the past couple months narrowing down which bike I wanted to buy, and had every intention of buying a Giant bike from this store. The sales guy eventually went into a back room and was whispering to his associate about selling me a bike, and eventually made a pitch at selling me a bike that was on the floor, that was specifically not the size I was going for, but attempted to pursuade me that it was the right size for me. It was all very shady and unappreciated. I bought a bike from the Trek store instead and the sales guy there was very helpful.
Ron Wingeart: Best Bikes, Service andDefinitely the Prices. I'm new in town and lucked up on referrals to this Gem.
R Greg Payne: I’ve had several great experiences at this local shop. Bought a Giant Escape for my son and a Giant StanceE for myself in the past few years. Had a warranty issue with a tire and they took care of it right away and provided me a brand new tire free of charge. They also tuned up my son’s Trek mountain bike and it shifts better than new. Whether it’s a new bike, water bottle, tubes, or whatever, this place is my first stop. I like that it’s family owned and operated. Highly recommended.
Nicholas Lowe: So, I just had a great experience at Albright's. I recently bought a bike (brand unknown) to trek to/from work -- it's 8.3 miles one-way. This morning, I'm a mile from my destination and my chain begins slipping in/out of gear; the culprit: loose cassette. I do not have any other transportation available to get me to/from work -- I'm panicked. I can't afford to take a Lyft or Uber more than a day or two. So, I'm playing with it at work with some tools and I can't figure out why it's loose. Later this morning, I begin calling around to local bike shops and I'm explaining the problem as best I can and everyone was nice but they kept telling me a week or more to get any fixes done. UGH! I call Albright's and they tell me, right now, a couple days to a week, depending on the issue. Well, they're the closest to where I live, so it makes sense to go there. That, and considering their the shortest turnaround time. So, after work, I take the city bus to Albright's and I walk in to a friendly gentlemen named Drew. Two seconds later, I'm met my his friendly Labradoodle. He stopped, whatever it was he was doing, to immediately take a look at my bike. So, he just dives right in as I explain all the things I tried to do to fix it. I don't have much of a disposable income. So, the whole time, I'm wondering what's wrong and how much. Well, as I'm releasing my anxiety through mutual adoration of his fine dog, he's continues working on my bike. (I actually made it worse tweaking with it at work). For 10 or 15 minutes, he's plugging away and I take a spin around the store to look at their inventory. They're well stocked for whatever you need, btw. I head back and he's done and the bike is fixed. It didn't need actual parts but it did need some TLC. (This bike was bought off craigslist last week, so I don't know what all it needed or how old it was, etc. I just knew it looked good and it rode well in a circle, when I bought it) I can't even begin to tell you the relief I felt when I knew I had my ride to work tomorrow. Then, I ask him the big question; "what's the damage"? He tells me 'it's all good'. I was dumbfounded and overwhelmed with gratitude. I have $60.00 to my name until payday, tomorrow. I was thinking, the whole time, if I don't have enough to cover repairs, I'll have to leave the bike and come back later this week. Well, Drew, thank you. Your expertise and professionalism are far above and well beyond what I expected or have even experienced in any other customer experience I've had in a very, very long time. You have a customer for life!
Mark Pajor: Great shop. They’ve helped me with a lot of things over the past two years, and today they very quickly took care of my flat tire so I could get back to the Urban Adventure Games.
Anonymous Sources: Good people, good place to buy or service a bike. This place has been around a long time for good reason. Just had the shifters replaced on my grandson's bike, works great.
Luke Troyer: My wife and I recently purchased two Electra Townies from Albright’s and had a fantastic experience. They listened and were knowledgeable on each of our questions. They shared everything we needed to know to be safe and have a great experience riding our bikes. They offered a wide selection and were friendly- all the qualities you would expect from a business that has been in operation for 108 years.
Jochen Rindt: Twice in the past I have had my bikes serviced at this shop and was satisfied with the results. Recently I took my bike in to have a clicking noise from the crank fixed and to have a rear derailleur cable replaced. When I picked up my bike, they had replaced the rear brake cable- NOT the rear derailleur cable that was clearly frayed and which I had shown the mechanic. After riding the bike, I noticed the clicking noise was still there. The bill was $99, of which $4 was parts (brake cable). So I was charged $95 in labor to replace something I did not ask them to replace, while none of the things I DID ask them to do were done. Albright's is a lousy shop-- dishonest and completely indifferent to their customers. Do yourself a favor and do not give them your business.THIS SHOP DOES NOT DESERVE TO BE IN BUSINESS !!!
Dan Hertel: I bought a new Townie 7D made by Electra, back in April, this is the best bike I have owned. I am in my late 60's and just want to be able to ride 25-50 miles at a time and don't want a racing bike. This bike lets me sit up straighter and not get a back ache. With the 7 gears I can easily ride up a fairly steep hills without much trouble, and in 7th gear I can maintain 12-15 MPH on a flat road. I am tall and this bike is big enough without being unstable. After riding it for a few months I took it back for a 30 day tune up. They adjust the brakes, the shifting, and the handle bars. It shifts so smooth now, the brakes are really quiet and stop on a dime. I dropped the bike off at lunch time and got at call at 5 the bike was ready, wow. This is a great store, very friendly and honest. I have done business with them since I was a kid back in the 60's and I still buy bikes there for me and a few grand kids. Great family owned business.
James Griffitth: Have a lot of knowledge, willing to help. Good prices.Well established shop, 100 + yrs. Jim real customer.
Jacqueline Skwiercz: Great service. Got my son the bike he really wanted.
Jordan Muck: Not a good experience. I went in to ask a few questions about tires for my road bike. Associates that were there stared at me the second I walked in the door without even saying hello. I could tell whatever they were doing was more important than my presence. Store was filthy, items were overpriced, and people were rude. Would not return or recommend.
Anthony Riddle: Nice people
Jesse W.: Took my bike in as the wheels needed truing. They charged me to do the work, just never did the work. I asked if they took the wheels off to do it, they said they did. I have a small "tie" for the brake cable to stay close to the derailer as my rear tire setup is custom. I noticed this wasn't removed and called them out on it. He said he didn't need to remove it. You do..... I did the rear setup and have taken the rear wheel off several times. You absolutely have to remove it to get the derailer off. It's an internal hub and custom derailer.
Makalah Henderson: Everyone there was so friendly and I got a great bike
Jennifer Henderson: Amazing place!! Amazing service!!
Dana Rassas: Grateful for their service. It was a long wait to get my bike serviced but I understand the pressure they are going through. Thank you for making my bike run beautifully.
Keith Hodgson: Exceptional, fast, and friendly service. Highly recommended!!
G Kame: Approximately several weeks ago, I took a bike that I purchased from them about 16 years ago, into their shop to get a new chain and cassette put on and was told it would take about half a week. Went in today to check on it and to see if I could get some upgrades made to it only to find out that one of the brake cables was now snapped. I asked the mechanic if it was worth fixing or upgrading and he stated "It was time to buy a new bike." I took the bike to another bike shop East of town and they wrote me up an estimate to repair, upgrade and service it and said it would be done in a week. I've been a pretty good customer of Albright's over the years, including 5 new bike purchases, so I think the mechanic could have at least called me about why it wasn't finished and explained to me how the brake cable broke.
Cory Gehring: They were very professional. The bike looks really good and the tune up will add another few years to the bike. Highly recommend.
Mr Mike: Quick, fast & friendly!
