Dani H: I always ride by here on my way to work and finally decided to try it. I saw them on Grubhub and decided tonight was the night. I do not know why I waited so long to try them!!! It's hard to find a really good Mexican restaurant, and this place is definitely a diamond in the rough. The service we recieved was top notch, felt very welcoming and all our needs throughout our meal were met. I reccomend the chicken tacos, but make sure to get some queso sauce to drizzle over them - NEXT LEVEL!

Charles Morse: This place slaps. Even if they don't seem to have the right prices listed, it's cheap for HQ food. I'm pretty sure they make the tortillas by hand, they definitely do for the pupusas. The tripa is SO good. Also, they have barbacoa and lengua (which tastes great but not as good as the asada/beef/tripa)!

Gary Hall: On a Sunday morning my son and I were on the west side looking for a traditional chorizo and egg breakfast, and of course 'papas', and we came across "Chico's". It's a quaint little place operated by three, gracious and attentive staff.We were both surprised and pleased with their traditional fare...neither fancy or overseasoned, but the 'heat' was available. Please, don't go in expecting 'Tex-Mex", as this a home-cooking fare.Our plates arrived with scrambled eggs and chorizo, diced potatoes, beans, rice and three tortillas...all, for $10.50. While awaiting our food, we munched on the complimentary chips and salsa, and well brewed cups of coffee.They are open until mid-afternoon, so don't arrive later expecting dinner. For my son and I, we shall make the drive from Granger to the west side often. We recommend you try their hospitality.

Brantley Botham: Had a 7 o'clock reservation arrived at 7:04 got sat immediately wasn't very busy at all. Sat and sat for 20 minutes before being greeted. Ordered our food it came out great. Food was fantastic service was good after they forgot about us being there. Paella was awesome. And the potatoes were great.

Mommyof Sev7en: we went to a baby doctor appointment because i am exactly 6 months today and the doctor appointment wasn’t actually until 1:30 pm so We we’re looking for some spanish food and we came across Chicos. We looked at the menu to order, they have limited selection on menu, and they charge chips and salsa separately. you think if you’re paying 12 dollars for 3 tacos only you’d get chips and salsa. we will not be back, we have visited a lot of spanish places to eat and this one is the FIRST out of many that does not offer chips and salsa with the meals to purchase. Kinda disappointing. was looking forward to eating chips and salsa. Guess this place is scratched off the list of places to eat in south bend. Would not recommend due to pricing, location and no chips and salsa.

Admittedly, the location in the heart of downtown South Bend is great, but the food and ambiance does not merit the cost. South Bend, of course, has outstanding Mexican food, and for a more authentic — and much cheaper — experience, I'd recommend any place on Western Avenue.Parking: Free parking in a nearby garage. He told me about this spot so i called in a meal he told me about, once i got there i found out that i had ordered the wrong thing, the young lady at the front counter went to ask her manager what she should do since i had ordered the wrong meal and wanted to order something different. Well i walked out and went to the jerk chicken place around the corner for dinner and i will not be back here. Great job with loosing a potential customer and wasting a meal and receiving $0 for it. The right thing would have been to give me the food that i wanted at least you would have gotten paid for the meal i wanted, you’re a restaurant, you’re going to waste food buddy well now you wasted food & lost a customer.UPDATE; your absolutely right the jerk was delicious try cool runnings for delicious authentic Jamaican food and a full bar around the corner from here much better atmosphere & customer service 😌

Ian Owen: I lived in South Bend for five years until recently, and I went to Cinco as much as I could. Never had a bad meal. The Thai food, the Mexican food, the margaritas are all delicious, and the service is typically excellent; I’m honored to say a few of them now feel like friends! Friends who bring me great Pad Thai! What more can you ask? You would have to be some kind of fool who tries to change their order super late and then leaves in a huff to not enjoy this place.

Jonathan: I've only eaten here once, but that one time sold me. This place is the real deal. It's small, only 8 or 10 tables but it's a nice atmosphere. It's obvious that they focused on the taste. Ground beef and shrimp tacos were delicious. Everything was hot and cooked fresh in my to-go order. The only negative was the corn tortillas tasted like paper. Something wasn't right there, lol. You can't go wrong eating here.

Patrick Witherspoon: I am a disabled veteran 67 years-old. I went to this place to eat, the wait was long so I asked for help. The heavy set lady finally came & acted like she didn't want to help me; I let that go. I got my food; taco dinner; I was too hungry to complain. I ate what I could, left a tip, headed to the door like I was leaving, turned around and saw the waitresses talking about me. Poor service, being made fun of, & I believe I was overcharged. When the smaller lady saw me looking she told the other lady who hauled it aways from there. I'll probably not go there again. I'm sorry that happened to me; I love Mexican food. I'll find someplace else that will respect me. Take the money, tip, & talk about me afterwards....
