Darlene Rodriguez: Ive tried to go twice. There hours are weird but we have tried to go when they are supposedly open. Both times they close before they say they are closed and they have it hours posted. Noone answers the phone regardless if its before closing. Tried then when they first opened and they were okayish but heard they got better so we wanted to try them out again. Businesses like these are really frustrating.

Christina Manderfeld: Passing through on the way to Minnesota from Maryland- we were so hungry!! As soon as we walked in we were welcomed with smiles and sat at a large comfortable booth. Our waitress was kind and made sure we had everything we needed, down to the smallest detail. Our meals were not only delicious, but also made from the freshest ingredients. I had the spicy shrimp - which I highly recommend. The beef burritos that my husband ordered were perfect, my son's quesadilla was so gooey and cheesy - he was delighted. The meal was so well presented, my son decided to try rice and beans mixed together for the first time and he LOVED it. We were in a bit of a hurry as we travel with 4 dogs, so they made sure we had a delicious dinner in a timely manner. As we were leaving, the restaurant started to fill up more and every customer was treated like family. I overheard folks ask about how the owner was, which tells me that this place has repeat diners, always a great sign. Thank you for making our trip thru your town dee-licious.

Maureen Barth: Wonderful family owned restaurant. Catered our party of 25 on a Notre Dame game day with just a four hour notice. The chicken and shrimp fajitas were a huge hit with the college kids. The guacamole was over the top delicious and authentic. Very generous portions. The kind owner, Juan, even made a special delivery, during a snow storm ❄️ to deliver the tortillas that we realized were missing from our order. It's hard to find a really good Mexican restaurant, and this place is definitely a diamond in the rough. Showme How400 (All0wM3): I always enjoy eating here! I only go here when they have the what used to be $1 taco but are now $1.50 taco special, so take that into account for my review. For the price of the special the tacos are pretty good depending on what you get. The pork (al pastor) tacos were a bit lacking in seasoning. I provided a pic below. I'd recommend the steak tacos! The steak is seasoned well and if you like your tacos Mexican style (cilantro & onion) you'll enjoy the flavor! This place has a LOT of other food choices, including breakfast but I have not tried any of it. The only other items I'd suggest are the chicken quesadilla and french fries! ~Ya I suggested fries from a Mexican restaurant haha! The former comes with refried beans in it so order accordingly. Trust me, the French fries are pretty tasty. Give'em a try!

Charles Morse: This place slaps. Even if they don't seem to have the right prices listed, it's cheap for HQ food. I'm pretty sure they make the tortillas by hand, they definitely do for the pupusas. Ground beef and shrimp tacos were delicious. Everything was hot and cooked fresh in my to-go order. The only negative was the corn tortillas tasted like paper. Something wasn't right there, lol. You can't go wrong eating here.

Patrick Witherspoon: I am a disabled veteran 67 years-old. I went to this place to eat, the wait was long so I asked for help. The heavy set lady finally came & acted like she didn't want to help me; I let that go. I got my food; taco dinner; I was too hungry to complain. I ate what I could, left a tip, headed to the door like I was leaving, turned around and saw the waitresses talking about me. Poor service, being made fun of, & I believe I was overcharged. When the smaller lady saw me looking she told the other lady who hauled it aways from there. I'll probably not go there again. I'm sorry that happened to me; I love Mexican food. I'll find someplace else that will respect me. Take the money, tip, & talk about me afterwards....

I would give them 10 stars if I could.Unfortunately, my food was beyond bland. The plate did not look appetizing and I couldn't eat it, and I eat everything 🤣. I will say the churros were delightful! Recently they added some menu items the Molcajete easily feeds 3-4 people and its amazing. And they changed the corn tortillas witch was the only complaint we had. Gary Hall: On a Sunday morning my son and I were on the west side looking for a traditional chorizo and egg breakfast, and of course 'papas', and we came across "Chico's". It's a quaint little place operated by three, gracious and attentive staff.We were both surprised and pleased with their traditional fare...neither fancy or overseasoned, but the 'heat' was available. Please, don't go in expecting 'Tex-Mex", as this a home-cooking fare.Our plates arrived with scrambled eggs and chorizo, diced potatoes, beans, rice and three tortillas...all, for $10.50. While awaiting our food, we munched on the complimentary chips and salsa, and well brewed cups of coffee.They are open until mid-afternoon, so don't arrive later expecting dinner. For my son and I, we shall make the drive from Granger to the west side often. We recommend you try their hospitality.

Brantley Botham: Had a 7 o'clock reservation arrived at 7:04 got sat immediately wasn't very busy at all. Sat and sat for 20 minutes before being greeted. Ordered our food it came out great. Food was fantastic service was good after they forgot about us being there. Paella was awesome. And the potatoes were great.

Mommyof Sev7en: we went to a baby doctor appointment because i am exactly 6 months today and the doctor appointment wasn’t actually until 1:30 pm so We we’re looking for some spanish food and we came across Chicos. We looked at the menu to order, they have limited selection on menu, and they charge chips and salsa separately. you think if you’re paying 12 dollars for 3 tacos only you’d get chips and salsa. we will not be back, we have visited a lot of spanish places to eat and this one is the FIRST out of many that does not offer chips and salsa with the meals to purchase. Kinda disappointing. was looking forward to eating chips and salsa. Guess this place is scratched off the list of places to eat in south bend. Would not recommend due to pricing, location and no chips and salsa.
