Thomas Cera: A little out of the way, a little hard to find and limited hours, but absolutely worth it when you get there. There are numerous authentic creations. The staff is friendly and genuine. Be prepared to spend more than you thought since it is difficult to limit your choices!

Melissa Saltzman: Legit Polish bakery in a legit Polish part of time (a lot of the road names around here end in "ski" lol). Place is very small kind of a hole in the wall - but I wasn't here for ambiance, I was here to get baked goods!! Bought a variety of products from here, including - naturally - paczkis for Fat Tuesday. All the baked goods were slightly less sweet than offerings from most bakeries, which was rather delightful. The paczkis are nothing like the donuts you get from other bakeries and stores that are mislabeled as paczkis; the dough is heavy and dense and not overly sweet. All in all, liked everything we got, and would definitely go back. Just wish the hours weren't so limited!

GEO D and Stuff: I bought a little over $30 worth today and I could've eaten everything. The pastries were absolutely delicious and the lady that helped me was very sweet. My coworkers and my grandparents loved the custard filled donuts. Everything was a decent price, so I managed to get 5 or 6 different boxes of pastries for my money.

Tammy Rutherford-Oldaker: So long awaited and totally devastated....I use to live local and bought these cookies multiple times a week.With 4 kids, we ate our fair share, to say the least. 😅Even after we moved, I did what I could to seek them out. (The Blueberry Fest and gas stations, etc.)I have tried several times, to catch the store open, while doing errands in South Bend, but never seem to time it right.I finally got a chance to have some yumminess today. (Well, so I had anticipated.)I got home, opened the box and frumped! 😔 The cookies were only ⅛" thick and had a 1/16" of flour residue, on the bottom.The frosting was still as delicious as I had remembered, but I couldn't even taste the cookie.Maybe my next chance meeting, they will be the normal ¼" that a sugar cookie should be and I can experience that wonderful memory of them.

Liz Paz: OMG LOVED it! Definitely will be back, as often as I can..over the weekend! A HUGE variety of delicious pastries. The smell as you walk was so deligjtful...yum! I truly wanted to buy 1 or 2 of everything lol 😆

Hilda Gomez: Well went from Elkhart to S.Bend to buy Mexican sweet thinking it would be a little cheaper to buy at the main bakery instead of at a Mexican grocery store. But it cost the same as it did in Elkhart so it wasn't worth the drive. Won't go back.
Marta Conlon: This is a lovely and DELICIOUS Mexican bakery. My dad and I went in to buy a bunch of different pastries for my mom's birthday. They have a wide selection of treats. The gentleman that helped us was very kind and gave us both a concha to try. It was still warm from the oven and amazing. There are several panaderia's to try on this stretch of Western Ave. I hope to try them all but I will always come back to La Central. Muchas Gracias!

Tom Chenier: Wow, I just discovered The #1 Mexican Bakery of Michiana! Don't let the unassuming store front fool you, this family owned bakery has been putting out a wide selection of fresh breads and sweets for 26 years. I frequent bakeries like this and I'm rating this one #1 in the area. Come early and you may be able to snag items still on the cooling trays in the back room while they are busy preparing the next items for the oven.

Western Avenue had High hopes and then after the pandemic many stores have closed ...but this bakery is one of a kind that you MUST visit 🙋...the offerings there are fabulous & the baker is working diligently 7 days a week, and he is very kind 👍Do yourself a favor.... stop in & don't let the area stop you from participating in a great place and great bakery with items made fresh on the premises ...Happy New Year🙋⭐💖
