Cat Smith: We came before the dinner rush and Umi was phenomenal! The vibes and music were on point, food was fast and warm, service was so spectacular and our server didn’t mind giving us some recommendations. We got the crab Rangoon dip and it was to die for, their Bento Box is definitely worth the price as well. Miso was a bit on the salty side for my liking but everything else more than made up for it 🤩

Kayla Pelance: I have been to Umi numerous times and it never disappoints! We had a Valentines dinner reservation and they were attentive, not too busy, and made sure we had a wonderful evening. I had my favorite Doc G Roll and we tried their crab Rangoon for a starter. The Rangoon was perfect. I also had a drink to go with dinner and it was delicious but I can not remember the name unfortunately. It was blue-green and beachy... and not too strong but not weak either. I would highly recommend Umi to anyone looking for a nice dinner out!

Ibrahim Awadallah: This restaurant serves sushi and Japanese food in a very unique and delicious style. I thought the sushi rolls were a bit expensive when I saw the menu but they are not your typical sushi rolls and were worth the price. The bento box was amazing and the salmon was super fresh and perfectly cooked. I love this place and will definitely be going back.

Brid889: moved here from New England and the sushi is good, better than most places in Fort Wayne so far that I've tried. However I'm never going back cause my partner who doesn't eat fish ordered the teriyaki chicken and when it came out 50 minutes after I had gotten my sushi I ordered(btw we ordered at the same time). It was a sad mildly flavored piece of chicken with only a scoop of white rice... I actually laughed out loud cause it was so awful for the amount of time they spent preparing it. especially for the price. wont go back again after that cause it was truly pathetic.
D C: Worse experience ever! My wife had someone's ear bud in her dish. Yeah, you heard me right, AN EAR BUD! Only thing the garbage manager did was give us a free dessert that no one wanted. I wanted to walk out but it was my daughters graduation dinner and that pretty much ruined it. Yes, the health department was called but doubt they did anything. Trash restuarant and staff!

O M: Three stars because the food is good. However you guys should work on customer service. I come because I can't resist the food but I really think you could improve being nicer to customers. It is okay to be blunt, however I always notice that you are nicer to your white customers thanyour minority customers. I am always very polite and say thank you however they never say anything back. Kristin Butler: Wow! Really fresh sushi!! They have some unique sushi roll choices. We got a Geisha roll and a Christmas roll. The miso soup is good. They have a crispy rice roll on the appetizer menu that is different and really good. We also got a Bento box with Spicy Chicken Teriyaki. For a lunch size serving, it was a lot of food. The tempura veggies were a little greasy, but I'm not a huge fan of fried stuff. The staff is very nice and very attentive! We will definitely go back!

He could have simply cook shrimp for her. He continued arguing with her. I heard her say Shrimps, with cabbage on side. You put cabbage on the side. No shrimp. She ate few spoons of rice, end up throwing dinner away. Shame on you not honoring/believe Customers.

If you try to order online for delivery or pickup you never can because they're always "temporarily closed" on all the delivery platforms.Hopefully the owner can solve his staffing problem because I would eat here a lot more often if the wait wasn't so long and I imagine a lot of other people would, too. And of course that'd mean more profit for them so here's hoping it improves in the future.

Lilee Nguyen: Hands down the best sushi restaurant in Fort Wayne. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Food is great and on par EVERYTIME. I love their teriyaki sauce! Heard it is home made by the owner. If you love sushi and never been here, I recommend trying it. My go to's are gyoza, chicken teriyaki, tiger roll. There are also some delicious cooked sushi for those who don't eat raw sushi.
Sean Foerst: We had an amazing dinner experience here at Asakusa. Jordan was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable on the food when we asked questions. I personally don't like sushi so he recommended the chicken teriyaki which was all white meat and cooked to perfection. My partner ordered sushi which was perfect and to their liking. I highly recommend Asakusa for a night out of dining experience. You won't be disappointed.Vegetarian options: Vegetable tempura, clear soup and salads

Bean Meeks: Food good. Nice restaurant.
Theo Bishop: I’m a regular here and I got food poisoning from take out. So I called and simply asked for a gift card/ reimbursement and the manager told me I needed a doctors note to prove I had food poisoning. Going to the doctor over a $65 sushi take out order isn’t worth it. Now they have lost a regular customer for years because they were unwilling to accommodate me in the situation. I will not be back and would highly recommend Sapporo.

Jennifer LeCount: Went in tonight to have some dinner and obviously there was a wait which I do not mind and expected. There food is so good and I was excited to eat some sushi, but once we were seated we did not get waited on. We waited about 10 minutes watching the server hit the table that got seated after us. I got up and told the manager we had been sitting for 10 minutes and he didn't even offer to get our drinks started. We sat for another 5 minutes and decided to leave. I understand being busy an all as I have waited tables, but very poor service. Sadly, I have no pictures of the yummy food cuz I didn't get any.
