Johnny Appleseed Park: what do users think?
Robert Fournier: We have stayed numerous times and have enjoyed every one. Going back this year!! Great City park.
Michael Harding: Very quiet, relaxing parking lot right on river. Will be checking on the camping there
Patricia McReynolds: Difficult to find, loved seeing his gravesite.
Tabitha Ketchum: Kinda blah....maybe it was just this season but bathrooms were locked, kids had to pee and that was the biggest problem for me. Where were the city workers but kids had a little fun with themselves and the snow. Will definitely check it out during summer.Playground: Small but it was nice, for smaller children.
Hailey Perkins: Little weird if a parking set up but beautiful spot.
Terri Lessard: Great dog park. Two large fenced in areas. Plenty of parking.Restrooms: Clean and fairly close see e to dog park.Dog-friendliness: It's a dog park! Poop bags and disposal areas available.
Alissa Doehla: Beautiful little park. Small but fun kid's play structure. Dog parks. Campground. Area along the river. Nice spot in FW!
Andrea Carlson DVM: Lovely peaceful campground!
Joseph Pearce: Great little park. The grounds and bath houses were extremely well maintained. The staff was phenomenal. The RV spots were nice and big and easy to get in and out of. Being right beside Johnny Appleseed’s grave was really neat — I never realized he was a real person until we stayed here.
Jennie Hunt: The playground is cool! And there is a dog park there too. Also scenic lookouts of the bridge and old filtration plant.
William Bennett: Definitely stay there again. Great city camping.
Bill Patterson: Well kept area. There is a nice turn around that just barely allowed our 35ft. fifth-wheel around. - CAUTION - There were some low lying branches that took off our front sidelight lens covers.and A very close tree/branch along the upper inside corner - CAUTION - SWING WIDE
Ingrid Mello: Up on a hill, kind of hard to find. I parked in the coliseum parking lot and walked up.
Michael Garber: Great venue for the Johnny Appleseed Festival. Lord of vendors and period demonstrations.
Natalie Wright: Small for camping but a nice park for walking
Marta Hayes: I’ve been here a week and have paid for a month and I can say that if they gave refunds I’d ask for my refund and leave the same day I don’t have the prettiest or most expensive camper and one of the park host husband has made me feel the poorest and dirties I’ve ever felt my whole life I will not be returning till I have a camper that is from the 2000’s 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😭 I have four you g children and do not appreciate being spoken to as if my dollar has a different value then there’s
Robert Howell: It was exactly as described. We learned some the history of Johnny and were able to give him our thanks for the hard work he devoted his life to.We will return during the next event held here.
James Burrows: I've booked this place before, but since last year, it has gone down hill. First, I can not be upset with the location or SOME of the camp hosts, they are great. But when you come back from work and find items from your storage area sitting outside and water lines have been pulled to the point that it cracked the flange leading into the camper, and the bucket the water line was in is now missing. It makes you wonder. Also the first night, the smell of pot being smoked was so strong I had to close my camper up, it seems as though nobody cares what goes on around here. When reporting to staff about the water line and the missing bucket, I got a serious attitude from "Rick", the husband of the campgrounds host, "what do you want me to do about it" in a rough begrudgingly tone..So, keep it in mind that this place has a few issues. I spend 40 weeks out of the year in my TT and this is the first time I have ever had an issue, and rude attitude from a host. Will I return here next time when work brings me back this way? Depends on who is the host and I will be looking at every review to see what others think.
Todd Brink: Nice park! It's nice that it's downtown Ft Wayne, that you can be close to all the restaurants, bars, and things happening around town.
julia j: Only positive memory I have of growing up in this horrible city.
pinkE fam vlogs: It was a great and fun family experience I will be doing this for years and years to come with my three children thank you for a wonderful time guys

Franke Park: what do users think?
Rob Motsinger: This is a great place for many different activities. Playgrounds for the family, a lake, and many deep and twisty trails great for walking and for biking. Keep your eyes out and ears open for other bikers.
Jared Numbers: The park and it's facilities are well-cares for. Beautiful sites. And the proximity to the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo is a huge bonus. Great place to take the kiddos.
nightmare 101: Friend of mine had her wedding reception right next to the water and it was absolutely beautiful.
J Preston: Beautiful area trails. If your on one trail you can easily get off course with several hidden trails. It was pretty muddy for my dog and I the day we went, and I couldn’t get many photos, but we still had fun. Highly recommend.
Chester Tejido (Cham): Nice to walk around if you're bored. It was muddy when I was there though.
layla ahmed: I love visiting the park in Christmas. They had lots of Christmas lights and designs up. I especially like watching the ducks in the lake. I go there often to teach my daughter driving and it is helping her a lot.
Jonathon J: Be prepared - geese run the park around the pond!Playground: Nice playground area for the kids.Restrooms: Public bathrooms on site.Picnic area: 1 open pavilion and 2 enclosed you can reserve through the city Parks and Recreation Department. I don't recall ever seeing other picnic areas there - probably due to the geese duck population.
Arron Declue: Great experience...the lights was top
Laura Mccue: Fantasy of Lights we're beautiful to see
B McMillan: Nice park. The Fantasy of Lights drive through event is a terrific holiday tradition. Next to the outstanding Fort Wayne Zoo.
L W Durril: Gorgeous 🎄
Linda Martin: Lots of beautiful lighted decorations to see at the Fantasy of Lights.
Laurie Hammond: Beautiful park
Amanda Moore: Was fun christmas lights
Tom French: Went to the Christmas event. The grandkids had a great time.
Ellie Neuerburg: So so pretty! A perfectly foggy morning with nobody else around. Got to enjoy a view from the middle of the pond thanks to the available deck, and got to make friends with some of the baby geese. Enjoyed a seat on the waters edge when I got surrounded by the little guys, which was such a serotonin boost! A gorgeous sunrise shining through the flowers allowed for a very pretty photo op and truly added to the experience.
Conner: Fantastic running and biking opportunities.
Samuel Hauptstueck: This is a fantastic park to visit alone or with friends or family. There are many great hiking trails in the woods, as well as the fantastic Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo.
Matt Dietrich: Mountain bike trails were well maintained and had good flow to them. Was quite surprised by the quality of the trails.
Skip Balkenbusch: Lots of people out walking and enjoying a beautiful day!
Alessandra Rainbow: I have loved this park since 20 yr +

Swinney Park: what do users think?
Omar Villalta: Very peaceful place
Julie Andrews: Lovely park!
John Sheehan: One of the joys of living in Fort Wayne is the range of parks and public places. Swinney is one of the more versatile - great walking and running trails, lovely scenery, a frisbee golf course and often there are interesting folk fishing in the lake. I am more sedate - I take my folding chair and a book, find a deserted spot with a view of the geese and have a couple of quiet hours to read and smoke a cigar. Sometimes I only see two or three people and it is a great blessing.
Cassy Finley: Beautiful park!
Vince Brown: One of the great parks too few people enjoy! Next nice day go to a park
Ericka Kruse: Love walking the woods and trails here. The only issue I have is the trash people seem to want to throw trash everywhere. They could probably use a few more trash cans and people can respect the park a heck of a lot more!Playground: Playgrounds are nice with a baseball diamond that was being used.Restrooms: Restrooms are both sex friendly so you're able to use either. Clean as you can expect.Dog-friendliness: Plenty of happy dogs walking but some rude people leave dog poo or poo bags lying around. Please keep up after your dogs! Nobody wants to step in the waste of any kind of animal.
Kimberly Pratt: I love this place.Playground: Small but manageable.Restrooms: Pretty clean and single person use.Picnic area: There are tables, a covered area and tons of grassy areas.
Katie Hicks: Swinney Park is enormous! Numerous sports complex sections, including a golf course, is pet-friendly which is a huge plus. This place is bustling on a sunny day but does have lots of parking.
Lois Stogdill: Nice park with trails connecting to other parks nearby. We found a turtle that had made its way out of the river to the main road. It’s a pretty walk in the spring and has good shade in the summer. Use insect repellent in the evenings as there can be be mosquitos. There’s a playground for children. Also a Japanese Ramada with tables for a gathering or to enjoy a picnic. Ultimate frisbee groups frequent this park, cyclists & fitness enthusiasts. Water fountain & bathroom facilities available too.
Roslynn Brown: Great place to frisbee golf take a walk ride a bike
Tabitha Ketchum: Best time Ive had outside in a very long time, sat back and relaxed in the BEAUTIFUL WEATHER, that finally Indiana has given to us. Took the kids fishing and they did not catch to much but they did feed them their bait. People all around jogging, biking, Playing Frisbee golf and other fishers. On a day like today definitely stop by and enjoy what peace and relaxation Fort Wayne does have to offer.
Jo Blackburn: Nice park. My Yorkie loved the Canadian Geese!!!
Dan Chester: Memories from my childhood
Alisha Livingston Cantwell: Very pretty park by the river.
Big head Webb: Ft Wayne Police circled and watched....
Jeff Norman: Nice disc golf course
Joe Crozier: Good
william carter: Great place to visit! Plenty of room to move around!
Dave B: Needs work
He llio: Ghetto!
Kip Jackman: Nice park, clean and spacious. Missing that fith star because the park only has a couple of picnic tables and the only one we could see had the road access blocked. We carried our picnic stuff to the table. But it was worth it. Four stars are solid. We had a relaxing time.

Parkview North Family Park: what do users think?
Megan Fisher: The park itself is great….the fact that every year it is the only local park only open seasonally is insane. To top it off, it is impossible to determine the exact open and closed for the season dates. Here we sit the first week in April, 70 degrees outside, park still closed for season. If it is a liability having the park open during snow and ice, close the dates during those times- not the entire late fall to early spring.
ERIN ALKHAZALI: I love walk8ng here can't wait for it to open!
Tabitha Henson (Tabbie): Beautiful scenery and place to walk hand in hand with a loved one!
David Rousculp: Nice park for the kids when you have to hang around the hospital. Nice distraction.
Michelle Daily: Love this park, but this last time I visited my Grands, I planned on taking them here but we all were Very disappointed! They closed the park, said for the season! I'm from Ohio, we go and play at the parks in the winter, for that matter all year!!It was a beautiful day out and it should have been open!
Mimi Lanning: Grandkids loved the play area.
Jonte Mcbride: Cleanliness is superb ! Everything is functioning. Grass is cut perfectly, plenty for little ones to do !!
Donnie Brice: One of the best parts I've personally visited in fort Wayne
Tom Featherston: Fantastic facility and high quality kids equipment. It's always clean and the walking trails have amazing views. Attendees are very respectful as well.
Joel Parks: I walk after my shift with my dog perfect for her to get exercise and me my steps.. tranquil in the mornings...🙌PRMC😎
Betheny L: I love that this park is astroturf. I can watch my preschooler play and my one year old can't eat wood chips (there aren't any). However there is a serious lack of shade in the early evening at least. The slides have also been too hot for the kids to use both times I've been. But we still have fun regardless and go because of the astroturf. The equipment is varied and a lot of fun. It also seems pretty safe to prevent falling from high places.
Bean Meeks: A very pleasant park, always very well maintained. Our grandchildren love playing tag there, as the playground equipment is configured well for it.
Keepin'ItReal: Great spot for kids to play!! They love the big hill to run and roll down, along with all the equipment.Sad they took out the exercise stuff. The paths around it are nice for walking though. And even sadder it is owned by an establishment that STILL forces mask wearing, restricts visitation...OVER 2 YEARS later! Sure glad they "follow the science*". 🤦‍♀️😒*Makes me question how reliable the care truly is.
Jason Wellman: Lacks shade at the playground, but the equipment is sturdy, well maintained, and has a lot of options.
Kinta Dowdell: Beautiful park . Basically a hidden gem for kids . Lots of equipment all brand new. Lots of space
Karen Broski: Grandkids have a blast here! We go as often as possible.
ghamar nikzad: Loved there, the park is big and a lot of facility for children and adult.
Johnathan Prickett: Always a great time.
M B: Play area was FULL of wasps living in the play sets. My oldest got stung, but it didn't ruin the day. Otherwise, it's our favorite park! April 24, 2022
Amina Bam: Nice bike trails but the park isn't opened because "they have to sanitize it from goose droppings" which I highly doubt they plan on doing. I understand closing it to prevent kids getting hurt when it's snowy or icy but it's warm and I saw many parents there with their kids and a police officer came out in full regalia (vest gun, nightstick all his weapons showing) to tell everyone to get out. Scaring toddlers, and preschoolers (slow clap) nice job FWPD great for the positive self marketing, post 2020.
Daniel Kautzman: Nice paths, clean restroom

There are several tennis courts and a lovely golf course. It's a great spot to take kids after school. However, be wary of letting your children near the water. It's very polluted.
Stan Pochopien: Place to play golf

Matthew Wright: Very bigPicnic area: Plenty of options
Kaylee Faust: Best park in fort Wayne! Just wish they would keep the water park open a little later in the year. I have 3 littles that aren't in school that love the water park. Its easier to take them to the park during school hours cause it's not crazy busy and overrun by bigger kids. Last time we went my 4 year old daughter was being bullied by 12-15 year olds.
GT Riegling Jr: Nice well kept park. New Haven does a Great Job keeping their City nice and clean.Playground: My 5 year old daughter loves this park. Payton County Park: what do users think?
Tyler Ellis: Bring bug spray!
Logan Amstutz: Short little hiking trail. Perfect for a small outdoor excursion for toddlers. Rarely busy.Just make sure to go to the bathroom before going, since they don't have facilities.
AJ CALABRESI: So quiet and peaceful. Nice place to take a healthy walk in nature.
David M: The mosquitos were horrible, and the trails were slightly overgrown with brush, but the trails were trimmed grass. I see a lot of potential if someone takes a hedge trimmer to the overgrowth, and plants some lemon grass or something to get rid of the mosquitos.
Daniel Kieft: A lovely place e for a walk!
Mody Mody: مكان عادى
Lucy Puller: Pretty area!
Rindy Schlatter: Very quiet and full of wild strawberries, elderberries, mulberry trees, goldenrods and quite a bit of poison ivy. Mostly young trees, except for a giant oak at the entrance... it was almost like an old orchard and farmed fields left to grow wild. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon stroll.
Jacob kruckeberg: Beautiful small park
Jerry Mathis: Pretty with snow on the ground and tranquil
Miranda Dunten: Very nice trails in a small well kept park.
David Redding: Nice little park.
Lee Powell: High dollar edition has been built right on top of the park. Too much noise and too many people.
Stephen Liebenauer: Nice quiet park with well maintained trails.
Heather Follis: The trails are wide and there doesn't seem to be many people there, so it's a peaceful place to get a walk or run in. I saw a frog and a blue heron there, so it has the potential to reveal some wildlife, too.
Ed Leonard: Quiet walk on simple wooded trail
Thomas Wilson: Maybe I'll review again in the dry season. Someone rode a horse through the park, trails were torn up, not maintained, and even the high ground was a soggy mess. Not a place to take your dog the day after its bath. Managed to get down several starts, but kept turning back around because of the amount of muck. Much better options close by.
Barb: Nice little park for walking a short trail dissappointing that two neighborhoods are going up beside it
Russell Fought: Great place to hike with multiple trails.
Hella Good: Needs some upkeep.
Allana Coulter: I've used this park a few times for portrait sessions.

Plenty of shade on the sunny days, and plenty of sun where you want it most. Quiet and hidden gem in this busy little city. Love it.

After lunch our 4 year old son enjoyed playing on the bungee rope "tower", the ring-go-round, the little basket-go-round, and the Noah's Ark play set. I think his favorite was the bungee rope swing. Seems like a nice park to revisit again.
