Purdue Fort Wayne Student Housing: what do users think?
Sierra Moreland: Do not recommend student housing. In my experience the roommate that I had keep playing the same song over and over again loud as hell (work hard play hard). My roommate would invite random people off the streets to stay on the apartment couch. Felt so uncomfortable at my apartment.
Jaylee Frye: I’ve had such MANY bad experiences with housing staff! They are never eager to help and seem to care less about their jobs.
Kim Haas: It's been one problem after another all 4 years my son has gone there. The current issue is the sprinkler system in the building froze because the pipes are on exterior walls and burst causing multiple apartments to flood. They seem to be fixing the broken pipe and patching the walls. The carpet and walls are drenched but that doesn't appear to be a priority at all.
Luis: Very bad 0/10 do not recommend
Azam M: Good amenities, maintenance is responsive.
B C: Haven't lived here for over a year, but when I did live here Freshman and Sophomore year, the rooms were overpriced for what they were, it was very easy to lock yourself out of your apt just by walking out the door (automatic locks) and it's $10 charged automatically just to have your RA open it back up for you. Probably better than most dorm experiences, but that's not really saying much.
Vika Platonova: My stove caught on fire and someone allegedly looked at it without telling me or any of my roommates for about a month, then my roommates shower was leaking and no one came to look at it. The school in general is pretty disorganized and the housing accommodations live up to that as well.
123: Terrible experience! The housing staff does not care at all about you or your needs. The way these people have treated me and other students is sickening.
Ariel Marley: Literally every single things you can imagine is wrong with this place. The administration is beyond poor and the staff do not care about students whatsoever. I cannot discourage you enough from living here.
Madeline McFadden: I attempted suicide and missed a meeting and the hall director, Jackson Russell, did not give a care at all. Also don't try to make an appeal because the investigation won't interview you and seems to just ask the hall director what they think. The school is very nice, but if you can live off campus, do it because everyone who works at housing is against you
Naomi Ashley: I do not recommend this place for anyone considering to live here. This place treats all the students here like children and they have no respect of person. I communicated with Ethan oldfield and tamera Dunn and they both never answer any questions asked of them. I was forced to write a pointless reflection paper about an incident that occurred in housing with me and another student. The student had put his hand on me, but got no consequences for it. I was the only one to get in trouble because I did not snitch. The staff is very one sided and take absolutely nothing into consideration. I put in a work order for maintenance about my door knob being fixed and it still to this day hasn't been fixed. WiFi is terrible. Walls are thins. Staff is terrible. Maintenance fixes nothing. Definitely not worth the money to live here. I wish I could give a -5/5 rating for this place.
Rachel Krieger: My roommate and I had issues since we moved in. We had a roommate who left her things everywhere and if you approached her about the issues she would be aggressive. She would say you have high expectations of cleanliness. I just asked her to pick up after herself and not fill the sink with her dishes. My roommate and I told the RAs in the building about the issues. The only thing they said was communicate. That's what we did and it didn't work. The messy roommate had put in a room transfer and she was denied. I know for a fact there were rooms. The apartment across from us had a spare room. I talked the the RAs again. We had another meeting and they said since things didn't resolve you will have to meet with the housing director. We agreed on it. The housing director never met with us. I found out from the club house that the director has been in meetings because nobody was getting along. Well I wonder whose fault that is....
Danie Ripgoggles: In the beginning of the school year, things were just...fine. The only complaints I have about the living spaces are that sometimes the water temperature is inconsistent, the windows don't close all the way so its often too hot/cold, and the doors sometimes open randomly with changes in air pressure. The real issues lie with the price and staff. It is EXTREMELY overpriced; I stayed in a 2 bed 1 bath plan and we broke down the payments to $780 a month. The staff are alright, but not attentive at all; we didn't even get a recycling bin at the beginning of the year, and we still haven't gotten one after requesting it (it's March now). Maintenance work orders take weeks to complete, and when they are done they aren't often done well. RA's will tell you when a heath inspection is to be completed 'within the next 24 hours,' but it isn't actually completed until several days later. The biggest problem came with the COVID-19 pandemic; they told students they were allowed to stay in Student Housing if they wanted/needed to, but then, a week later, 36 hours before a stay-at-home order from the Governor took effect, they tried to force everyone out of housing. It's hard enough to move in, but trying to move out with less than 48 hours' notice is near impossible, especially for students that are out of state, or live far away. It was also directly against the best interest of the students to do this; the virus spreads when people travel, so if they really cared about the health of their students they would have told everyone to stay put. To add insult to injury, they wouldn't even refund a semester; they offered $500 credit toward the next school year for those that were not seniors, and seniors got $500. As stated earlier, $500 doesn't even cover a month of residency. They don't have regard for their residents at all, and it's disgusting that they would put hundreds of young adults at risk just to save a few bucks. Any part of me that was considering living here next year has died.
lydia carter: Jalen, at the front desk of the clubhouse was awesome and very helpful! Super sweet lady.
Maggie Sullivan: This is my 4th (and last) semester living in student housing. A lot of these reviews scared me before I was going to move in, but these apartments are not as bad as some of these reviews makes them out to be. It's a very safe area and campus police are regularly on patrol. The full size beds are nice. My major complaint is the price. There are several apartment complexes in the area that offer much more space for less money. The wifi is also very slow and cuts out a lot. Overall it's not a bad place to live, there are just better options.
Derek Brown: I've had a decent experience my first semester here. WiFi is mediocre but the wired connection is amazing. When I made a work order the man was very helpful and quick with responding to my issue. I would like to clarify that I am living in one of the newer buildings(building k). I've been lead to believe that the older buildings(also the more expensive options) have had a lot more issues with things breaking down. The events put on by student housing can be cringe but free food is free food. The biggest benefit is being able to walk to class every day without having to cross traffic once. Every day in the winter I walk over that bridge seeing someone in a car wreck. Each time I appreciate student housing a little more.
Manuel Tuazon: First day..we see how’s it goooes😉😜
Blake Bratu: The housing IS NOT bad. I don't know if the other people reviewing have never leased before, but the campus housing is far better than other colleges that charge $5,500 (looking at my old college) and have public showering and bathrooms as well as just a single room and sharing a bed a few foot from another person, no kitchen. They don't hold a candle compared to housing here. For around $4,500 for BOTH semesters you get a 4 bedroom 2 bath. Your own ENCLOSED private room pre furnished. You also get a shared kitchen and stove, fridge, etc. You share the bathroom with another person (but it's better than the public showering and bathrooms right?) I had my own sink and my roommate had the other. We clean up after ourselves and had no problems together. You have the privacy of your own room with a lock and key as well.Of course you can find outside student housing that offer far better benefits and quality of life for less, but if you are a person who wants the on campus experience I suggest paying that luxury. For instance, nearby I can get a 2BR 2BA student housing (your own personal shower and bathroom) for around the same price as a 4BA 4BR here. But like I said, you are paying for the extra luxury of living on campus. The people in the reviews are probably expecting them to get a 2BA 2BR for less than $6000 total ($1500 higher for it.) The reason they're more expensive on campus is ON CAMPUS. It's also because of limited quantity. You can fit 4 people in an apartment but you pay more to keep that 4 person's worth of space and split it into two. That's the logistics of campus housing. It's because of the space you occupy that could have fit two more people in, etc.People saying it's too expensive simply expect their luxurious suite to be handed to them with scholarship money. It's like nobody here properly understands what handling money is, I swear. Now that doesn't negate the problems here. I had black mold on the shower vent (this was due to people keeping the bathroom door open when showering and mildewing the vent.) Within a day of filing they came and cleaned it no problem. Of course these conditions should have been checked earlier, but it was fixed the moment I called it out. These types of things could have happened at other apartments. The internet is perfect here. I pull 500mbps download speeds on Ethernet and around 50-100mbps on wireless. The NAT type is Strong and limits Xbox/PS4 party functionality. But overall it's pretty blazing internet speeds, although it could go out at night (this problem has been fixed as of recent.)The beds are cuddle beds and very comfortable. You can move your room furniture to your liking. Comes with cabinets, dresser, study space, etc.Now this is building D. I have seen worse conditions in other buildings (a 2BR 2BA with damaged tile and leaked fridge.) Maybe I was the lucky one to find a reasonable room and so this reflects in my review.Regarding mail, it is sent to the clubhouse. I have had mail not slipped and assumed as not there and have had to ask several times to take another look before they found one of my packages. But it's rare, it depends on the person working.I live in building D (the oldest building) and my rooming was not old looking at all. It looks like new carpeting was laid down as well as wooden slabs for the kitchen. Maintenance wise, our microwave broke and within 3 days they came in and replaced it.Some students expect maintenance to be there immediately when there's a back order at the very beginning of the school year with work orders for the crew.
Vitaliy Rabchuk: 2,500 a semester for a 4 Bed 2 Bath, I've been living in apartment D, and while there are plenty of flaws concerning cleanliness, the staff is respectful, and the location is nice.Take care of your own apartment regardless of how good your roommates are and you'll be fine. definitely beats overpriced dorms.
Ben Scholer: Full disclosure, I am not paying to live here, my job is.However, it is very over priced, however, utilities are included. The apartments look great when you walk in, but there's lots of little things wrong with them. For example, the top plugs on most outlets don't work, WiFi is trash, furniture is garbage, etc. However, Ethernet is stupidly fast. Gigabit speeds, if your computer can handle it. Overall would not recommend living here though, unless you need lots of bandwidth or *free* power.
Leanne KayJae: DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE BENEFITS OF LIVING AT IPFW STUDENT HOUSING. It is the absolute worst and I would give 0 stars if I had the option.THE HOUSING STAFF does not know how to handle situations correctly, does not follow policies, makes exceptions in benefits of themselves and it is such a shame. I have only lived here for a semester and I will not continue living at student housing anymore.

Santiago Hernandez Jr: Don't bother coming here if you have pets, they do not allow them and will charge you $250 if they catch one in your room. This review nor it's associated complaint have anything to do with being caught, I'm a truck driver that is getting his truck worked on at the shop next door, I thought I would take advantage of some down time to stay in a room. Talk about being way wrong about that idea. This place looks nice from the exterior and the grounds look very well kept. This is the perfect place to stay (probably) as long as you don't have pets.

Mark Carter: OMG......Can NOT BELIEVE that PRICELINE even sells rooms FOR THIS DUMP. We didn't find a "Dead body," but we didn't stay long enough either. The place was disgusting and had dead bugs as well as mold and stain bed linens......unbelievably. They also charged our credit twice after my wife told them it was paid for through Priceline, and the clerk NEVER asked me for my credit card at checkin, so it was comprised through Priceline. Terrible place and shouldn't be advertised on ANY Hotel sites....like Priceline.

Hugh Spencer: Stayed here many times. Always be cautious to who you encounter, staff included. Always be aware of your surroundings. The fireworks you heard are probably gun shots.
Kimberly Lowry: Came back to stay because we always feel like family here. The rooms are still big which is great for our large group. Beds very comfortable. Angie is amazing as always. Enjoyed the stay thank y'all so much. See ya next time.Rooms: We love the penthouse but the double queen has plenty of room too. And they all have a full kitchen it's a life saver for a family with kids!!Nearby activities: Steak house just down the road, the mall is very close. Cracker barrel
Travis Clark: DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!This place is a disgusting, dump. There were sh!t and other fluid stains on the bed sheets. Bathrooms were moldy and dirty. And the sign warning you to lock and deadbolt your door for your own personal safety should say enough.TRUST ME, YOU DO NOT WANT TO STAY HERE!** UPDATE - my stay here crossed my mind today for some reason. I still cant believe I actually stayed here after taking one step into my room. The one positive aspect is that after 18 months since my stay here, I do not appear to have any infectious diseases. What was I thinking...
K W: If I wasn't just stopping here for a hookup I wouldn't go anywhere near the place. Didn't feel safe. It is obviously one of the local hotels that take welfare vouchers. Those are the ones to avoid entirely. Call the desk of any hotel in Fort wayne before staying there and ask if they take the vouchers. If the hotel says yes, go elsewhere.
chuck syer: Nasty filthy rooms. Ripped pillow. Had to request clean bedding/pillow upon arrival. Smoke detector removed by previous occupant in smoke free room and never replaced. Cigar butt on floor. Bullets holes in room (looks like)Rooms: 1/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Kevin Kelly: Terrible Terrible Terrible it is a weekly stay motel. I'm upset I did not check the reviews before I booked the night. I was so uncomfortable I didn't even stay the night. It shouldn't have any stars on any website. The room door was poorly attached.
Paige Kyrrn: It was not as bad as the reviews sound, but not great either. The room was huge and that was pretty cool. It was dirty but not like... DIRTY.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 1/5 …More
Sara Dameron: First room had very little heat and no blankets on the bed. Went to front desk and got blanket but it didn't help. Decided I couldn't take it anymore and went to check out and they gave me another room. A bit better but still cold with no blanket on bed. Bedding in first room looked unclean. In the top five worst places I've stayed. Place is BAD...avoid it.
Harry Erickson (Darkvirgil89): Rooms awesome dont get me wrong, but there was water in the shower as if someone had just showered, so not cleaned up, and then behind the door was a used dirty washcloth.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Andrew Nyitray: I would say 4/5, as in what the odds are you’ll get robbed and/or murdered during your stay.If you’re lucky enough to survive the night you’ll most likely be coming home with bed bugs, some roaches in you luggage, or possibly hepatitis B.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 1/5 …More
Kaitlyn Amstutz: This was the most disgusting place I have ever stayed. Don't stay here!!!!!!! Mold, water damage, roaches, not vacuumed or dusted in years, cigarette ashes everywhere(even on the towels) hair in the tub, broken toilet seat... absolutely revolting 🤢Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 3/5 …More

Hilton Garden Inn Fort Wayne: what do users think?
Jalen: I had called ahead to make sure that it was okay for me to check in early as I am traveling for work and working nightshift. When I arrived it took them almost an hour to get me into a room and I finally got a room key. When I went to the room there was still someone sleeping in their! I also told the front desk when I checked in that I would be checking out late due to me being on nightshift. I woke up to the workers continuously trying to barge the door open without knocking first. Not all but some of the workers have an attitude and are just plane rude. I will be taking my business elsewhere for the next 7 months.
Cindy Kowalski: The attention that we asked for was not received. The room close to us had huge fights all night long. We couldn't get any rest. When we told the front desk all we got was I'm sorry... not professional at all. Very disheartening...Rooms: 2/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 2/5 …More
susan lain: It is a little confusing to get to, but the place and the staff were great. Kayla, who works in the dining/bar area, was WONDERFUL! We came in just after they had officially closed the food area one of the evenings of our stay, and yet she made sure that we were still able to grab something small. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are in the area.Food & drinks: The food was delicious, and the menu was priced well. The bar area is smaller but still had some great choices.
Joan Colon: Not clean enough beds not comfortable breakfast had variable but cool not hot enough to enjoy

Amanda Anderson: The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean, but tiny and the beds are very firm. The pool is also incredibly small with no room for chairs and the sound echoes loudly throughout the room. They don't have any vending machines, but they do have a suite shoppe. However, a can of coke is $3.50! This is a good hotel if you're just staying one night, but I probably won't visit again.
Marie Sara: The suite was awesome! Much like a small apartment, space wise.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Luxury …More
Meredith tyo: I want to start off by saying I paid 190 for a room for the night. The bed was super uncomfortable. The AC was not working and was making really loud noises. Kids running up and down the halls. I didn’t see any luggage carts at all and the entrance was confusing due to construction. The comforter for our bed was really raggy and super thin. You had to PAY for breakfast and even then it was okay. The service was really good. We had NO problems with any people that were there helping us. I think I’m the future we will stick with holiday inn where the beds are super comfy and the breakfast buffet is free.

Andrew Weaver: Nice place, nice bed, nice people
JR H: Slow check in and dirty room. Nasty might be more accurate. I spent some time wiping everything down and couldn't believe how many wipes I used due to filth. The shower had hair on the bottom and sides. The sink counter area was also dirty and hairy. Oh, and the bed spread had hair all over it. Stayed away from it. Someone shed all over the place. This location is clearly lacking corporate oversight and accountability.
Suzi L.: Great experience, clean room, and excellent front desk customer service. The only negative is that the pool was quite chilly for swimming.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury, Great view, Kid-friendly …More
James Vanover: Was expensive to stay (200+) for one night booked in advance, called to verify the pool was working and they didn't know, (how do you not know if your pool is working) it was thankfully as that was the sole reason for the trip, to take the younger kids swimming.. they make it sound as though breakfast is included with the cost of the room .. it's not.. 11.99 per person (even for the 1 year old) and while I understand COVID cleaning procedures are there to keep everyone safe. Being down right nasty and rude to the three year old for not having his shoes on when we were in the process of putting them on him was very uncalled for... All and all the rooms weren't anything special but they were clean, our check in receptionist was incredible... Everyone else we encountered during our stay was horrible and should not work in customer service.. will not ever return. They reached out on here to make it look good but never actually did anything to make this terrible experience right.. do not recommend this place and we will not return ever.

John Ehrhart: The staff were friendly and great and the price we paid was excellent, only complaint was the water never got hot in our room but once and it made our stay a little off because we wanted to take hot showers, if they get that fixed, it's a 5 star in my bookRooms: Clean and spacious
Deondra Steward: Close to grocery and food options. Drive to the actual hotel slightly confusing, but manageable. Staff was pleasant. Morning breakfast good with decent options. Rooms were decent, one rooms sheets were dirty, but staff gave new sheets. **staff said he didn't know how to put on fitted sheet.....Hotel sign is tattered on one side... makes the property look less desirable than it really is.Overall we had a good stay.Food & drinks: Lots of restaurants are very close by.
Kevin Smith: The people that run that place could barely speak English they also allowed people to have dogs in that place also which led to fleas biting me all night when I was trying to sleep the hot water only lasted 3 minutes so it did not stay hot at all when I was trying to take a shower so I definitely will not be going there again!
Elizabeth Brown (Liz): I really enjoyed this hotel. The beds are super comfy. The pool was nice and heated. The grab n go breakfast was good. The shower wasnt very warm though! Everything else was good!!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

John Landis: Using my other gmail as I don’t feel like getting harassed. Mediocre hotel. Nothing special. It does the absolute bare minimum. Horrible wifi that cuts in and out with speeds slower than a snail. Hot water goes in and out and I’m currently here and checked the parking lot, there are about 5-6 cars and I’m 100% sure 1-2 are staff cars. The breakfast is an absolute joke and an atrocity. Corona hasn’t been a thing of worry in nearly a year, yet they still use that as an excuse for their grab and go breakfast? BS! It’s nothing but pure laziness. How hard is it to offer hash browns or eggs? “We’re working on bringing it back” dude bringing what back? They act as if there’s a shortage of potatoes and eggs like it’s Wagyu steak. Unacceptable. The white guy with glasses at the front desk has little customer service skills. The poor older Indian women I see all the time I feel so bad for. Slaving away while the manager, whom I presume is her son, is nowhere to be found. This is how a business is run when you don’t care about the business.
Effie DeShazier: NO HOT WATER!The employee tried to help, but there was no hot water in the other room he providedThe manager will not talk with me or return my callsI have a video of how horrible this stay wasI had to warm water in a little coffee pot to bathe my sonThis is unacceptable
Jessica Faszler: While the name suggests that there should be a higher standard here, there wasn't. The front doors were broken, the staff could not speak English, I asked to be charged at the checkout so we could order room service they stated on the website, charged me up front. No room service available, side door was broken, door to the pool was broken, staff got annoyed when I asked if the side door was available so we didn't need to walk down the front stairs and around the building to get to our vehicle. As the side door didnt work I assumed it was my keys at first. It was super cold so I asked the family to wait in the car while I checked it out. Front desk told me to use the stairs or elevator and when I explained I needed to get my family she wasnt happy. Went to the pool, no towels and when asked at the front desk it took 10 minutes to get a towel. Pool was set at 60°, so another guest asked for them to turn up the heater. My family got in when it reached 80°. Saw that room 101 was condemned while we were in the pool. And other guests used that hallway, so for whatever reason that room is condemned is not preventing the hotel from using the rest of the hallway. We asked for more bath towels and it took the front desk 20 minutes to get them for us while we stood and waited in the lobby. One of the ice bucket liners had a hole so I asked for a new one, and accidentally shocked the lady behind the counter. It's winter, static.... and she screamed and yelled something at me in a different language. The room looked ok, with some broken equipment. The TV was incredibly blurry so we didn't use it. The curtains wouldn't close so we didn't get much sleep, as the outdoor light was super bright. The beds are also extremely firm so if you like a softer mattress pass on this place. I also incorrectly assumed as it was next to PRMC and Dupont hospitals the place would be nice. I'm not going to stay here again and won't recommend them to anyone. I would avoid this hotel, esp as the condemned room and broken front/side doors present health and safety concerns.

Holiday Inn Purdue - Fort Wayne, an IHG Hotel: what do users think?
A.Molloy: The people who work here and wonderful to deal with wouldnt want to go anywhere else in fortwayneRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Great view, Quiet, Kid-friendly …More
Renee Bloom: Best hotel in town! Love this place!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Matilde Sanchez: Real nice customer service.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Tonya Berry: Booked this room for a relaxing evening with their indoor hot tub. Hot tub was down and nothing on the website stated that. You shouldn’t advertise amenities you don’t have. This major bummer cost me $350.
Ashley Warren: Great location and hotel. Hotel bar/ restaurant should stay open later for events at Coliseum. Rooms are a little pricey but good.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Don't fool around with Mother Nature: Hotel is in need of some updating, but overall nice and clean. We had a great time at the bar, wings were excellent. Major complaint is breakfast! We travel for work and stay at a lot of Holiday Inn hotels. This one said they have a full service restaurant so we went for breakfast. They said all they had was a buffet, so we said, and thought, it would be fine. We were charged $25 for 2 and it's the exact same breakfast as every other Holiday Inn has for FREE. Hard biscuits, everything was luke warm. If you can't offer better than what we had today, it should be free. Cut up cantaloupe and blueberries are a decent but cheap fruit offering.
Nlavz Alts: No breakfast or even food after some hours. Had to leave hotel to get some food or ordered in. All I hear is I’m sorry. Management needs to see what’s going on. Other than that greatRooms: 4/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Zachary Thommen: Rooms are in serious need of updating
Mike boyle: Awesome place for people need to stay.
Meagan Davis: We stayed here for new years eve. It was nice and comfy. My son got to swim in their pool, the hot tub wasn't working which sucked for me but it was still a good stay.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Dan Petrowski: Friendly front desk service, clean rooms, and comfortable beds. We stayed 2 nights during the holidays, and had excellent service from the front desk staff. The buffet style breakfast in the restaurant was good, but waitstaff service was limited at best (we never even received drink service during our entire meal, but other tables did). The room décor is somewhat dated, especially when compared to other Holiday Inns, but everything is in good condition and very clean and comfortable. We didn't use the pool or workout facility during our visit, but it looked nice. The hotel is located directly across the street from the local Arena, and was centrally located for easy access to most of Fort Wayne. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again during future visits.
Alex Gamino: Place was very clean, staff very friendly but one bad thing was there was a lady that worked the front desk was very overwhelmed and it showed and that was not good that made me uncomfortable but other then that the place was great.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Michoe Johnson: Clean and modern rooms. The breakfast was greatRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Matt Stackpoole: Staff was really nice. Hot tub was closed, carpets weren’t that clean, restaurant moved very slow.
Therese Cataldo: Found cockroaches in the bathroom, found a yellow stain on the bed and the rooms as I been in many has a foul smell to it!Rooms: 1/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Natalie Everson: Terrible experience! I left because of the front desk receptionist. My friend had booked 2 rooms. One was on the 6th floor and one was on the 5th floor, but we didn't know the room numbers. There were 7 of us between the 2 rooms. My friend and I were the last to arrive around 11pm. There were 2 front desk receptionists. One was assisting another guest. My friend and I stood in front of the other one. She appeared to be counting her drawer at the end of her shift so we waited. She didn't acknowledge us, or say anything like "I'll be right with you." My friend said the person's name who reserved the room. The receptionist was rude from the moment she opened her mouth. "What?" She replied. I said we were trying to check in and repeated the name of the person who made the reservation. She stated if our name isn't on the reservation it would be a security violation to give us the room number. Now, I understand that they can't just hand out keys to anyone who walks in and asks for one and says someone's name. I get that. But instead of greeting us in a friendly manner or even looking up the reservation to see the details, she just blurted out that it would be a "security violation" to give out any information. From the time we entered until the time I left the facility, I was rudely spoken to by this young girl. Never a smile. Never a friendly greeting. Nothing. At one point she told me to stop yelling (I had not raised my voice at all.)We couldn't communicate with our friend who was already in the room because her cell phone had died.I've worked at top notch hotels. Here's how I would have handled it:If I was counting out my drawer, I would have set it aside and helped the guest or at least acknowledged and would have said, "Welcome to the Holiday Inn! I'll be right with you."How can I help you? You're checking in? What's the name on the reservation.Ok. I see it's under someone else's name, etc. I would have then checked to see if there were any notes (ie: other guest's names, etc) and then asked for an ID.If both rooms were listed under 1 person's name, clearly 1 person can't occupy 2 rooms. (The girl kept saying if we didn't make the reservation she couldn't give us a key. That's ridiculous since I've made plenty of reservations under 1 person's name and there are notes under the reservation with occupant's names or something.)If there were no notes or got to a point AFTER CHECKING THE RESERVATION where I couldn't give out a key, I would have offered to call the room for the guest trying to check in.Instead the girl kept talking over me, interrupting me, accusing me of yelling, etc. I was so flabbergasted at how rude she was treating us, that I said I couldn't stay. I grabbed some of my things to take to the car.A gentleman that works at the hotel (I'm not sure in what capacity) followed me out to my car and asked what happened. He told me they've had complaints about her before. (I was not surprised in the least.) As I explained what happened I started to cry. I was just shocked at how the whole thing escalated so quickly! He mentioned he would let his manager know the next day. We walked back inside so I could get the rest of my things. Our friend who was in the room on the 6th floor had come down to the lobby looking for us. She asked what happened and I was telling her the story. The front desk receptionist kept interrupting me even though I wasn't talking to her, I was talking to my friend. The receptionist was clearly leaving for the night so I waited to leave until she was gone because I didn't want to be in the parking lot with her alone. My friends wanted me to stay, but I was too upset so I ended up driving 3 1/2 hours home at 11:30am (arriving at home at 3:00am) instead of being able to stay with my friends. That receptionist does not belong in customer service!
Scott Reed: Clean with friendly staff
Bonnie Licklider: We had a very late check in and Christina was very pleasant and professional.Had room 209. The king bed was very comfortable but I'll pass on the small closet shower. It's not a room we're use to for Holiday Inn Express.Thank you Christina for a nice welcome

Sonesta Select Fort Wayne: what do users think?
Kitchen Bath Floor Decor: It isn't the Beverly hills Hilton but it sure works for me. fresh thyme, restaurants, Walmarts, planet fitness, anytime fitness, dry cleaners, lots of strip malls, and two main indoor malls Macy's etc.Rooms: Clean quiet rooms
Thomas Mosher: Nice place. Very friendly staff.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Sonya Vander Zwaag: I’m a Hyatt rewards member and this is the worst Hyatt experience I’ve had. This hotel was extremely dated and looks to maybe have recently had a remodel. Dirty curtains, stains on furniture, bathroom door pushed the toilet because the room was so small. We were very disappointed in this stay and isn’t at all what I would expect from a Hyatt Place.
Walter Moore: Safe place, courteous help.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Justin Mills: Room was still dirty. Found beer bottle caps on the floor. Drink rings on counter and table. Tv would get a clear channel, everything was blurry. Giant light in the parking lot that shined directly into my room. Even with the curtains closed still lit up the room.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More

Chuck Czizek: The only complanint, that we had about this hotel, was the bathroom that we had was very small, and the vent in the bathroom didn't work, while you took a shower. Other than that,it was very cozy.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury, Great view, Romantic, Quiet, Great value …More

Cami Jonelle: First time I’ve ever stayed here. It’s okay, the hotel itself is nice. A littleDated but clean. The hotel staff was kind and polite but I wouldn’t go as far as saying they were friendly. The breakfast was good. They did allow late check out which was greatly appreciated. It wasn’t that it was bad by any means I guess I just expected a little more from the Hyatt name. I will recommend in the future if someone is looking for a basic hotel.
mike smith: The staff was spectacular at what they did! I would swear check in went so quick that when she gave us our room keys I thought it was a magic trick. The location for what we were doing was great! Food, gas, shopping and some entertainment all right there. Now i must admit to the worst part. The company you bring will also have a sway here. Just please don't stay there with my wife, she will bring you down.Rooms: What you would expect from this price point. Very nice with no crack heads.
33mod: Very friendly staff. Clean spacious room. Free hot breakfast. Would stay here again
LIL DOE DOE 4.k.o: CARING AND WONDERFUL STAFF, COMMUNICATION IS GREAT. AND THE STAFF HERE WILL GO ALL OUT TO ASSURE YOU HAD A WONDERFUL STAY ESPECIALLY THE NIGHT TIME STAFF HERE. EVERYONE ENJOY BECAUSE I SURE DID.......
Mark Thompson: The TV was not working and took 2 calls to the front desk. Also no hot water in the morning. And breakfast was out of many items. Got tired of waiting so went out to a restaurant for breakfast. Doubt I will stay there again.Rooms: 2/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 3/5 …More

Karla Stewart: The bed was really comfortable and the highlight of my stay. The heating unit never worked. Reported it many times, they said they "worked on it" just to come back to my room at night and find it not working again. The TV also stopped turning on. Cleaning service was never provided during my 4 night stay. They told me the last day I had to have it requested and that it needed to be scheduled before a certain time. This was never mentioned to me during check-in.
Gail Littlejohn: Nice. Breakfast was over the top, staff was very courteous and helpful. Accomodations were good also.Rooms: Rooms were great!Noteworthy details: Toilet seat did not fit toilet, hard to clean yourself when finished using it.
Ashli Vrooman: The bed had a dipped in on the right side didn't sleep well at all

Hilton Garden Inn Fort Wayne North: what do users think?
Dan Malcolm: Very nice & clean. Pool was great & well maintained. Rein, who checked us in, was fantastic & very helpful. Enjoyed our time at the bar & the bartender made a really good Old Fashioned. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay & will be back. Thanks!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Casey Edwards: This hotel is fairly new, so everything was nice and brand new looking. My 2 year old twins loved swimming in the pool! We also ate at the restaurant in the hotel and the burger was cooked perfect and the food was so fresh/hot and delicious.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury, Quiet, Kid-friendly, Great value …More
Paul Kern: Very nice place. We enjoyed the room. Nice bed. The door to the bathroom when closed leaves over an inch gap to see in. The only thing we didn't care for was house keeping attempting to enter our room 1 hour before checkout. Luckily we had thrown the extra door lock or they would have walked in on us getting dressed to leave. The location is good, close to the highway and several places to eat and things to do.
Virgil Rassner: Clean comfortable and cozyAs well as a convenient location not in town but far from the places we went while celebratingRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great value …More

Chris Robbins: Impeccable accommodations; great staff, clean and comfortable!
Kayla McFarland: Very nice. Clean. Open with lots of light. Friendly. Very comfortable room. They should put up a board outside of the restaurant to describe breakfast because otherwise it’s just a staff member constantly walking over individually to each person to find out what their room number is to explain they can’t have breakfast for free. It’s confusing and disturbs those who are trying to have breakfast. Breakfast is $13 for typical continental buffet unless you are in extended stay rooms. Fridge not working when we arrived, but overall very positive. I don’t think the vacuum being used is very good— it looked vacuumed but the bottom of my socks got very dirty just being there for a bit. Definitely a nice place.
John Drier: A very nice hotel. The omelet I had for breakfast was huge. The room was clean and comfortable.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
lupe santos: Only reason for 2 stars is that is under construction and there were not notice when we made the reservation.Rooms: Nice, comfortable. This place is undergoing rehab.
Stephen Love II: The place is reasonable nice on par with the chain but feels under staffed. I stayed during 0°F weather on 5th floor, shower was warm but not hot unless I let it run for 20 minutes and that didn't work every time. Hot breakfast at the hotel was an exceptional value and better than what you would expect from the chain.Rooms: Normal rooms just like the other hotels in the chainFood & drinks: Hot breakfast exceptional
Davut Davut: Dirty rooms found marijuana under the desk, you could even smell it when you went inside the room just shows how bad the staff is to clean and the plates, forks and more isnt clean to use have dirty Marks on it 🤢The breakfast has nothing to eat just few stuff😤Rooms: 1/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 1/5 …More
