Bob Jones: We were shopping for a credenza, either in stores or online, since we moved to the Indianapolis area in 2021. We never found what we were looking for. Too big, too small, too short, too EXPENSIVE! I'm not even sure how I ran into The Custom Cottage. My first reaction was, "custom made credenza? . . . yeah, good luck with that". But I did a little more reading about The Custom Cottage and found out their goal is to not only build custom furniture, but to also teach a craft to people. We met Rus Lyons at his shop and told him what we were looking for. Needless to say, Rus and his guys came through with flying colors, and we now have an AFFORDABLE heirloom-quality credenza in our home. Thanks to Rus and all the workers at The Custom Cottage. They are typically very good at indicating any missing parts/pieces and the couple times (out of literally over 25 orders) something was amiss they took the product back for store credit with zero fuss. This is a great spot for getting some deep discounts if you are willing to read the descriptions and take a tiny risk.

Deb Tanner: Prices for non-damaged products with added sales are good, if they have the items you purchase. Try to coordinate items but every order has something that can not be found or must have been mislabeled during inventory. Frustrating to day the least and this has been brought to their attention over and over...nit quite as bad at the other location but the sister location does not have the same customer service when an error is found. Indy customer service much better and helpful and they go out if their way to make it right as best as possible.

Ally Bright: Got a couple of rugs from here. Definitely check the sizes of things before you buy because the photos aren’t of the actual product. My roomate also got a patio set but it didn’t come with arms and we have not heard back yet about getting refunded a partial amount. We made the rugs work and some of them even still had tags on them which was nice.

This will be my 6th or 7th time picking up at the new location and its not gotten any better. The line has wrapped around the building, today there were 2 cars when I arrived and I still waited over half an hour before someone even came to get my order number. Not to mention its impossible to navigate the steep incline one-way drive.The deals are worth it but be prepared the pick up may take much longer than expected so don't be in a hurry.

Cindy Canfield: Really rude personnel. We did not take issue with the chaos, but for the customers that did, they were met with loud rude personnel. Even those acting as managers continued the very loud yelling and disrespect to customers just trying to figure out how to pick up without any signage to help guide.

Ashley spent hours with us on a number of visits to find the "perfect white sofas" for us. From the beginning to the end, we were given as much time as we needed to make our choices, and there are so many choices! From fabrics, to cushions, to depth of sofa, to feet, color of feet, arms, the selection was truly amazing! Our sofas arrived last week, and they are truly gorgeous, including our custom leather ottoman, that's so handsome! HomePlex gave us top notch service from beginning to end, thank you guys for making our home look gorgeous!
Brad Thurber: Full disclosure. We just ordered 2 couches and so do not have them yet. They are supposed to arrive in 8 to 10 weeks.This place is different in a good way. Super helpful. The floor sample couches were immediately more comfortable than comparable priced elsewhere. Everything is custom but if you can afford to wait longer for what appears to be higher quality than this is the place to go. Custom is not important to me but quality is.It is a very small store. They recommend you make a reservation for weekdays so they can go through everything with you. They hours are limited.

You can customize the look and feel of your furniture, which is awesome, although do be aware it takes about 6 weeks for them to custom make your furniture, but delivery is free once it's ready. I never felt "pushed" into buying anything, either, which is something I hated about the big name furniture stores.

Marlena Durrett: Ordered in November. Stated we would recieve before Christmas. Arrived after Christmas. What we ordered wasn't right. They picked up items January 4th 2021. I had to call myself to see what was the holdup 2 months later. Had excuse for everything. Still haven't recieved product. Was told when product isn't right item goes in front of the list. Apparently not. When ask that we feel we should be accommodated for our inconvenience all they would say was everything is backed up. Will never do business with this company again. If the item we purchased wasn't so important to my husband wanting I would cancel and request refund. Has taken longer to get item fixed then it took from the time we orginally ordered. I understand things happen and feel we have been very understanding but why did I have to call and now I have a voicemail stating the delivery department will be contacting me. Please be aware they dont care as long as they have your money.

S Trusty: I have done business with them for over 10 years. The pricing is absolutely fabulous. Even if a company has a GREAT sale, it does not compare. Most people are uncomfortable with paying everything up front, but I have never, ever had a problem with getting my items. If there have been any problems, they have been resolved it an timely manner.
Judy King: Direct Plus is wonderful. It will save you money. I have been a member for over a decade. All the people there are helpful and wonderful people to work with.I have purchased kitchen cabinets, furniture, floorings, lighting etc. I was a member of the other discount place (DB) and they are awful and cheats! Again, Direct Plus has inexpensive membership dues and will save you that amount many times over. I am an unbiased customer who gets nothing for this review.

This is not the place to go to if you want your hand held for you while you pick out stuff. It's a place to go to if you want to spend your own personal time to find and purchase high quality stuff at a fraction of the cost.

Tina Cloer: I've been ordering products from Direct Plus for several years. Jim and the other staff are always professional and courteous. We've saved so much money on the items that we've ordered, it makes the very small membership fee worth it. I also like that we can visit local flooring and lighting stores to choose our items and have also ordered a lot of custom furniture at prices that ended up being far less than other stores offer them for. Direct Plus is a really good company to work with.
Doug Davis: Great place to save money and have access to thousands of brands. We've bought couches, kitchen tables, bedroom furniture, and nursery furniture through direct plus have have saved hundreds of $ on each item. They are always great to work with and very helpful.
Kelly Henderson: I have been a member for over a decade. I won't buy furniture at retail prices ever again. I have furnished several homes through my membership, saving thousands. They are constantly expanding their product lines keeping up with changing trends and the quality of their products lines is great. They are great to work with but I'm also a low maintenance customer. I have purchased everything from grills, blinds, upholstery, rugs and accessories from them and am about to redecorate again. I love to shop there and compare, I'm always blown away by how much I save. Love it.
versiera: While you can get cheaper things at Direct Plus than in other stores, it is such a hassle to deal with them, we stay away whenever we can afford it. The main reasons are as follows:1) While Jim is a great guy, the other woman, the one whose name cannot be spoken, treats us like she hates us every time we come in. She mocks us and acts as if we are pestering her (when we are paying thousands of dollars in cash). This is for me the main reason. I truly despise talking to this woman in person or on the phone.2) You have to get your own movers(they give you really bad options) , which adds to the price to the point it might be more expensive than the price at a store. You have to deal with everything.3) Business seems a little shady.4) You have to be a member (paying every year)5) You have to go back a second time to pay the taxes...
Gary Edwards: So far everything that we have purchased has been at least 50% below the SALE prices we have seen at retail stores. I have felt ZERO pressure to buy anything from them and they have been extremely helpful. Even spent nearly an hour with us on a sale they were barely making $100 on.
Bruce Williams: What a joke!!! Save the time and money! Direct plus is only in the Indpls market they are way too small to give the discounts like the bigger stores. You must see the warehouse they work out of. No computers, no flooring, one cabinet line... Save your money!!!

I have friends that have been members at direct plus and at DirectBuy and the difference is amazing what DirectBuy offers and the amazing showroom that DirectBuy has. See for yourself... look at the millions of options that DirectBuy offers. We visited both showrooms and we did not like the pressure that the direct plus guy puts on you, all the false promises. direct plus marks up the product and charges major handling fees. If you pay direct plus with a credit card they make you pay the fees. Check out DirectBuy and do your own comparison!!!
dennis creighton: Don't pay the handling fees, freight charges, and the markup that direct plus charges. Direct plus offers flooring, but you will need to go to a remote location to view and order. They also only carry one brand of cabinets... I want options... Give me choices!!! Save your money and watch the Sunday paper and the internet and you will find GREAT deals without the markup and the silly handling fees that direct plus charges. Don't give in to the high pressure sales tactics that direct plus implements. It is not worth it my friends!!!
