Shawn Hicks: Using my boyfriend's account to type this. Genuinely I don't understand how people go here to this location and why it's still in buisness. First, it's not clean. Last time I was here a couple of months ago, there was a pee line from one aisle to the other. No one in sight. No wet caution sign. If I had fallen, they would get sued hands down. I had to hunt for someone to inform and this woman seemed off. She shrugged then said "I will get to it when I get to it". Really? Her hair was a mess and kind of wavy and she looked completely checked out. Blue eyes, short. Lastly, I only got two items. The line was long and only 1 register open. The cashier was an older nice lady but she looked displeased. Overall do not suggest going here. There are way better places
Jonathan Hiler: Super selection of stuff for every kind of pet, and a vet clinic right inside. The fish department is nice, and the staff is very helpful.
Will Krebs: Been coming to my location almost my entire life; its easily my favorite of the local pet stores. They have very good pricing here and I still own fish that I bought from here years ago (they are even more hardy then some of the "famous" LFS's in Indiana!). And we have been more than satisfied with the lovely dogs & cats we have adopted from this location as well!(My only critique is that I would like to see more variety in the fish selection! I feel like I always have a pretty good idea of what they offer, when sometimes other stores may have better stocking options.)

Olivia Anderson: Bought two betta fish a few months back. One supposed to be a male and the other a female. The male passed away within weeks and the "female" we were sold was actually a male as well as we recently found out.

Haley Dych: The grooming on my new doodle was so bad. He was matted, I knew he would be shaved with a ten blade. That is fine. But he was so uneven, they didn’t trim his feet hairs, and I don’t think they even attempted to trim his armpits. Real bad.

Stephen Tharp: Ridiculous that you go through and purchase items for your pet and then they first of all don’t help you at all or even offer while you’re in the store and second they want to charge you for the bag they want to put the items you just purchased in. I didn’t realize they were trying to be like Aldi.

Of course, dad wanted to make her happy and that meant finding her a new friend.We are so happy to have come across Bailey. They were extremely helpful in helping us. Not only were they helpful in assisting us with picking out the newest members (yes members, guinea pigs are herd animals, so we needed to pick two out) of our family, picking out the items they'd need at home so they would be happy and healthy, but they were also very knowledgeable about the guinea pigs. They were very sweet and patient with mine and my husband's various questions and did not hesitate to take time from stocking items to help us pick out all we needed and explain the care process for the piggies.If you visit this location, I hope Bailey is there to assist you! They definitely made this trip/purchase easy!

Was sent a digital receipt with all the information from the paper one and they refuse to refund. It's disingenuous to present it as one and call it something else when there is an issue. I had something specific in mind before I went which often ends up disappointing without an open mind. They had exactly what I was seeking. I thought a bit pricey but it was days before Christmas and selections were well shopped.There were other items I found that I thought useful but hadn't set out to purchase. Store was busy and lines at check out but still moved quickly. I will go back when needing speciality items or new treats for my pet that I can't find at big box discount stores.

DreQ: Didn't know they price matched until I got to the register and the clerk said "wow that cart is empty" and I said "yeah I can get cat food for 5 dollars at dollar general instead of paying 10 dollars here for it" and he showed me how to pull up dollar generals price and show him and he matched it and even went 50 cents below the ad price. I love this store and I'm glad that the people are so helpful and that they price match. I'm definitely a returning customer.

Taylor Sheppard: Where do I even start?? This is the best Petco I have ever been to. I live in Cincinnati and come to visit friends in Indy regularly. When they set up tanks we always come to this Petco and Franklin and all the other partners are absolutely the most kind and helpful folks. Franklin went so far as to help me save SO MUCH MONEY with PetCo Vital Care. I signed up for fish and cats and have saved so much money in a month that it has paid for my membership for the year. I absolutely recommend this Petco, not just for price and selection, but for the care and consideration of the employees and management. They truly care about their customers and pets!!

Ashley Wilcoxen: We don't live in the area and came to this PetCo location twice in 3 days and while we stayed on that side of town. First visit was an hour before closing with myself and two children so unfamiliar with the store I implored of the whereabouts of the items I needed and if I got a string of words as an answer instead of 1--2 and even none, it was to tell me that she didn't know if they carried this or wave her hand over the back left half on the large store to pinpoint where I should find it, if they have it. Granted, I was not happy to be there with tired kids, but it cost nothing to be kind or courteous, which is exactly how the cashier from our second trip treated us and even went above and beyond. She was just extremely helpful, super pleasant, and even engaged with our youngest who loves to check out every single dog toy more than the dog even does and even though dad was there with me this time and I had backup, how she was with our family made the visit easier and definitely enjoyable. I didn't catch her name, but she was younger (early-mid 20's?), long brunette hair pulled up, and taller (5'10-6'). This review may have lost a star due to the first visit, but it would've had 1 if it hadn't been for the second visit, I did a review here in hopes that management can easily identify the lovely employee, that's why I didn't offer details about the first cashiers physical attributes, it is not my wish to judge or shame anyone, but telling of the experience gives more context to why the young lady made such an impression. I hope she gets the kudos she definitely deserves!

Majorly overpriced on everything I looked at, half-emptied pallets all over the main walkways of the store, the grooming department looked as though it had been deserted for years (as did an entire front corner of the store near grooming...there was a TON of clearance, everywhere, but there were bins of randomness in this corner, and the clearance prices didn't seem very clearanced...).The store was generally a mess and needs a thorough cleaning. I think there was a manager flitting around who was in no sort of uniform...she had on something that said Petco...a name tag, maybe?...and she was barking orders at the checker.Honestly, my visit was because I happened to have a bit of time and wanted to look at some items for our newly adopted dog. Won't be back soon.

My pet's name was lexie she gave Her the Full service senior pet peckage which included the bath haircut and ear cleaning teeth brushing nail trimming shiny coat smooth and silky coat included eyes. Nose here cleaning which I believe already said but she came out looking beautiful. And i'm very impressed with the work I will most definitely be back.Not for me but for the dog of course

I’m so sorry he did but he is a puppy AND ITS A PET STORE FOR GOD SAKES THAT ALLOW DOGS INSIDE. Dogs are dogs and accidents happen. The guy that worked there made me feel very uncomfortable. You could tell he was incredibly irritated about my puppy peeing. I apologized and asked to clean it up with the paper towels he was holding myself. He said no forget it very rudely. I needed to buy some dog food and other things but his obvious irritation and anger made me so uncomfortable I just left. It is a PET STORE! They have to expect accidents. I will never go there again. They need better more professional employees. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE!

Joan Woods: We had our feline boy, Danny, in palliative care with ulcerative cancer. The kind cashier, after discussing with me that Dan refused to even eat tuna and $2 per can premium food, recommended that I try resorting back to what I considered a junk food that our boys were on when we first adopted them as 10 week old kitten brothers. (The equivalent of a twinkie to our human diet, in my opinion.)They didn't have a small bag... so I purchased a 16 lb bag of nostalgia and lugged it home with me. You should have SEEN the kitties' eyes light up when they smelled that bag!! A 16 lb bag of cat treats!!!We euthanized Danny on Saturday at a terrible 5 lbs 13 oz. He'd always been a strapping 12 lb plus gorgeous Russian Blue and I'm devastated without my majestic boy. But I'll always be grateful for this gentle cashier who helped me make his final days brighter. ❤️. You are a wonderful human. Thank you and God bless you.

John Anderson: Disappointing visit today. I went in to purchase some fish around 11:30am, but there was no one to help customers who wanted fish. I asked the cashier for assistance and she paged over the intercom for someone to come to aquatics, but no one came. I waited for about 20 minutes before leaving empty handed. It has been difficult in the past to get help with the fish, but I've never had to leave with nothing. Very disappointed.

Brad Heni: On 12/04/2022 I had an appointment for my 7-year-old Chocolate Lab to get his second flu booster at 5660 Crawfordsville Road Indianapolis, IN. On 10/30/2022, the date of his first flu vaccination, this date was approved and confirmed by staff member Jenny.On 12/04 I responded to a text message to fill out paperwork and confirm our appointment prior to arriving. As the instructions stated, we arrived 10 minutes early for the appointment after a 45-minute drive.Upon arrival we were informed that the location was out of the required vaccination and there was nothing they could do. So why did I receive text messages to confirm the appointment? So why did a staff member not contact me to let me know the location was out of the vaccine? So why was Jenny incredibly rude, almost pointing blame at me and saying, “there is a nationwide shortage and there is nothing we can do”. If a nationwide shortage does exist, why is PETCO scheduling appointments? So many questions and zero answers yet! There’s one question I can answer. Will I step foot into a Petco ever again or recommend Petco to anyone? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

B K: This was one of the absolute worst experiences I have had as a dog owner in the 15 years Ive owned my baby. I made the appointment online and came 45 minutes to the Castleton area assuming that this simple grooming service would be done without issue. I recently relocated here from Georgia and Im new to Indianapolis. Upon arrival, a request for vaccines was made and vaccination record was provided. My groomer Taliyah went around and around with her manager to check the acceptance of the document. I shouldve known then to leave and schedule an appointment somewhere else but after a few minutes of debating, a manager named Connor came in and approved the documents as it clearly stated the rabies vaccine was administered in January of this year. I was quoted a 3 to 4 hour time-frame to complete the grooming. I stayed in the Castleton area to avoid the long commute back home. At 345, I receive a call from Talia stating that Cameron is ready to be picked up. During the call she tells me that "Petsmart doesnt have the proper equipment for a senior dog" and they were unable to complete the job due to my pet "thrashing". Now, im concerned. I google the term and it states that thrashing is a seizure. This has never happened before. I get to the register to pick up my dog and theyve deducted the cost of the original groom down to half the price. I asked Taliyah if my dog had a seizure and she laughed stating "she just wouldnt sit still"My dog looks the exact same way she did when I dropped her off for my appointment. There was still food and stains on her face which hadnt even appeared to be touched.I understand that the policy states that due to a dogs behavior, the groomer can decide to discontinue service at any time. What I dont understand is why it took almost 4 hours to wash her body only and trim her nails. This is highly unacceptable and a huge disappointment and inconvenience. Regardless of the area, please consider taking your pets somewhere else.
Emily Hendrickson: Dis-organized-Left a different number for them to call when my pup was ready for pick-up, which they did not call. I also did not get a report card or any acknowledgement of how she did during her grooming session.Bad Service-Was petting my dog 3 hours after and hair was flying although I paid for the Furminator. Went to go brush her and within 3 minutes had a huge fist full of her undercoat. She is a young lab and is shedding her undercoat for the first time this spring. I understand that she will still have some undercoat but I don’t think they even brushed her.

JM: Training here is very nice with Shannon, she’s great with animals and our dog. Our dog loves her and picks up the training quick when she’s teaching him something new, group classes are nice for socializing your new puppy with others and the private training is good as well for a time that works for you and one on one teaching. If you’re thinking of training your pet here go with Shannon. Best trainer.

Abby argued with me about a service I did not request, ended up not having to pay for it, but still she was very rude. Even told me I signed for the service and that I should read before I signed it. I agree but all the times I’ve ever taken my dogs there I and no one else stands there to read the form that gives them permission to groom our dogs, and this time was no different. It was clear what service I wanted since I made my reservation online and clearly chose wash, cut, nail trim, and communicated that again when I brought our dog in. I’m aware that we all make mistakes but this young lady lied and was rude. I don’t recommend Abby M. at all. If you do choose her I hope your experience will be better than mine.

Bella Penrose: Took my dog here to be groomed because I had such positive experiences at other petsmart. When I checked in the groomer said they would do what they did last time. I said yes because that had previously been exactly what I asked for. When picking my dog up she had received a schnauzer cut and not the puppy cut I typically ask for. I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with the service I received. The hair that was shaved off my dogs ears takes years to grow back. I was offered no support from the service staff when expressing my concern and instead was told “we will make a note for next time”. There will not be a next time. This experience makes me want to stop shopping and getting grooming services done at petsmart all together. The first photo is her groom previously. Second is her groom today.

Tiffany Owens (HuffleTiff): I’m new to the area, but always had good experiences at Petsmart grooming, so made appointments at the closest store. Both of my dogs were still damp when I picked them up, neither had been brushed out as they had knots and strangles all over. One of them didn’t get her nails cut, just barely ground. I paid extra for the furmanator wash and my dog looks exactly the same. I will not be back to this store for grooming.

Sam Baker: Payton in grooming is amazing. She has been dealing with my two shih tzus, one is 1.5 years old and the other is a puppy. She was so sweet with my puppy and made sure he is comfortable getting groomed. I also did training classes with Jonathon and would highly recommend. The store is clean although is can get quite crowded and everyone is friendly.

Jennifer Wenning: I do not want to make a blanket comment about all PetSmart employees, but rather company policies - specifically for this location.I purchased a bearded dragon on January 24, 2023. For the (almost) one month our family took care of him he experienced seizures, lethargy, lack of appetite - all symptoms of ADV. When I went in for a second time to ask for help the manager just handed me some powder called “critical care” without having the courtesy to share instructions for use. The lack of sympathy was heartbreaking considering we struggled for a straight month to keep Milo alive. Rather, “the company has a two week return policy and there is nothing we can do”.Based on light research about bearded dragons, we believe that further testing needed to be done before placing this beardy in the tank with the two other bearded dragons that were at the location. If he did have this virus, it could have easily affected the other dragons in the tank.He was so sick and I cannot imagine what he was going through for one month. He must have been in so much pain - he was just a baby.This whole experience was gut wrenching and I am not sure I will allow myself to purchase from PetSmart again.
