Taylor Matthews: If you choose to buy a pet from this place BE AWARE: they will misinform you regarding how you pay for the pet if you choose to finance (they use the word "loan," but instead it comes in the form of a useless credit card), and they really, really push you to buy all of this unnecessary stuff when you do buy a pet. I'm not saying "don't buy from them," because they do have a good selection of products, but rather be aware that you'll likely end up getting coerced into buying WAY more than what you need or will ever use for a pet.

The in store manager that day was a person who would not go out of there way to help a unsatisfied customer. Welp that was a waste of money/time. Do yourself a favor and go to a good petstore one that has a big company that backs them.

Lucy Endris: I would give Petland zero stars but that is not an option. Their warranty program is a complete scam. Our family bought a very pricey French Bulldog several months ago. The dog is very sweet but was unresponsive to any voice recognition. She was taken to our vet, who confirmed she is deaf. We were told we had to buy all their vitamin supplements for the warranty to hold on our pet, when we purchased her. We complied and bought all the items we were told we must have. After finding out she was deaf, we called Petland, who did not stand behind their guarantee and referred us to the warranty company. We called the warranty company several time and sat on hold 4 different times for over an hour. When they did answer, The warranty person was clearly at home with her children and had very little if no interest in ratifying the situation of selling us a very expensive deaf puppy. We have since called the warranty company and the line has been disconnected. We love the pup but feel we severely over paid. We were given zero reduction for a dog that can not be trained properly and her disabilities have ended up costing us far beyond what a healthy pup would have cost.Buyer BEWARE.Update. New management did make this transaction right by refunding our money. Thank you.

Webber Household: Bought a puppy from here in 2021. Walking into the store the staff seemed nice but they were definitely pushing sales. They were getting everyone to sign up for petland credit cards because who can really afford a 4,000-5,000 puppy after 2020. I will say the store was clean and they were cleaning cages often when puppies were using the restroom. The staff was helpful and helped us pick out everything we needed for our new puppy.First when we got our dog home he was a little lethargic. Didn’t think much of it until we started vomiting and having bloody diarrhea. We took him to the vet that they have a plan with (they’re an awesome vet) and he had a parasite. After a few vet visits that was cleared up and we were happy our puppy was healthy and had energy. We love our dog so much and he is amazing and sweet.Fast forward to end of 2021 and my puppy under the age one one starts limping. Thought maybe he hurt himself and waited to see if it got better. We hit age one in February 2022 and after many vet visits and x rays we found out our dog has elbow dysplasia along with early signs of arthritis in both front legs.My young medium sized dog walks like an older dog. They said it’s bad genetics. We’re now taking surgery and physical therapy and pain management. Not something I wanted for my young dog. I know this can happen with any dog you get but after spending thousands of dollars on a dog you would think it wouldn’t have these issues at such a young age.So the review is here to tell you to be careful. Adopt and don’t shop if possible or just make sure you ask a ton of questions before buying. The money they’re asking for these dogs is insane. I don’t blame the location for the issues but more petland as a whole. It’s obvious these dogs are puppy mill puppies.

Special shout-out to Lori and Paula for being so welcoming and informative - I'm excited to see how my boy likes the free sample of the in-house, Made In The USA brand of food by Nutri Source and will definitely be back to get "Welcome To Your New Furever Home" gifts and Training Treats for all the new pups in my neighborhood! Please do note - Google Maps had a hard time finding the current entrance for this strip of stores, as the plaza has a little bit more construction to finish. Look for the backside entrance northeast of 421/Michigan Road.

Reagan: I went here with my boyfriend the other day and had an awful experience. I am about to be 17 and he is 18. The store was completely empty except for us. We were looking at the puppies as an employee watched and wandered near us. We asked the employee to see a puppy and he asked if either of us was 18. I said that my boyfriend was and he asked for ID, which we handed over and he approved. Then he said that my boyfriend could see the puppy but I was not allowed to. I could watch, apparently. What?? I have been here before with my grandma and mom and they have never once told me that I’m not allowed to go in the pen. The employee appeared smug when he said I would not be able to go in. According to the website, there is no policy against me being in there due to the fact that I was with someone who is 18. I was incredibly upset and I will not be returning.

Paul Phillips: We visited Uncle Bills after lunch next door. One thing I noticed right away was the cleanliness of the store. While looking at the fish, my daughter noticed a white beta, a color we had not seen before. Immediately a helpful employee showed up to explain the uniqueness of the fish and how it was acquired. He also helped with picking out the perfect tank, filter, heater and food to keep our new pet happy. When we went to the cashier to pay for everything, she was extremely friendly and really engaged my granddaughter. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Jasmine Tidrow: The smell of pet urine and fences hits you when you first come in. Open some windows and air the place out and use something to neutralize odors. Birds all looked extremely unhealthy. They are picking their feathers off. I’m not sure how many birds are allowed in one cage but this looked like way too many to me. So many that several were picking at each other.

Heather Marie: Tons of pets! And you can interact with/ and hold all of them! From spiders, lizards and snakes to rabbits, cats and dogs. There's also hamsters and tons of birds! Staff are very friendly!

Amanda P: Visited the store earlier today and went over to look at the Sugar Gliders. While over there noticed that one of the gliders had his nail caught in his hammock and wasn't able to get himself unstuck. I alerted a staff member who walked over had no clue what a sugar glider even was and was freaked out. She then went to get someone else who walked over saw him stuck said "oh he does this alot" and proceed to open the cage rattle his hammock causing the glider to make sounds of distress and then walked away not freeing his nail and left him stuck. A word of advice from someone who has owned gliders and worked in a pet store. 1. Train your employees someone shouldn't be unaware or afraid of an animal in your store. 2. If they keep getting stuck don't you think you would A. Clip their nails B. Take out the hammock or C. Get them a wheel which they should have already had to trim their nails. Please be better and take care of your animals.

Allen McDonald: 2 stars because while I did get 3 beautiful budgies from this location 2 on a previous day and 1 new feather friend yesterday. I left ANGRY. The staff are the least helpful people. And I am more than surprised that my bird didn't have a heart attack on the drive home. Love how there is a caution sign that reads "parakeets scare easily" but when a staff member goes to retrieve one they handle it like a piece of garbage. The girl pulls the wrong one so she just turns the box over and smacks the top while the poor thing flops out and struggles to regain focus. When she gets ours out she almost breaks it's neck stuffing it into the box. Beware the pets purchased here. They're not treated to well. The only reason I will buy another pet from here would be as a rescue mission.i understand being in the pet business but doesn't give you a right to treat an animal unfair just because you can. That's a bully

I asked if they had a “guarantee” for their fish before I had left in case they were to die and the person on the register told me no. Will not be buying fish from here again, seems like a waste of money…I bought a fish from a different store as well, the same day, and he is thriving.

The employee upfront said, “they are this expensive, because it’s to make sure they don’t end out on the streets, since there is already many out there” Which sounds contradicting from my view. Because there are many street cats, you would want to lower price, not over price. The goal is to find them a forever home. Pricing that high will deter people from buying & that’s why they will continue to be in the “system”.

He showed me the exact materials I would need and what do to with them. Along with giving me great descriptions of both my 2 frogs and my 1 fish my boyfriend and I purchased. I will definitely return for anything else I may need in the future!!
