Stop being lazy and not posting miles on vehicles. I am not going to waste my time driving 35-45 minutes across town to see a vehicle with 300K miles and a 8500 price tag.

Gram Johnson: I found a clean, nice, reliable car at a good price. I don't understand all the complaints. Used cars are sold as is, so it's up to you to make sure you're buying a good car. It really isn't anyone else's problem if you buy a bad car and it breaks down.However, unlike other dealers they don't take care of the paperwork for you. They said they'd send us the title in the mail within 2 weeks, but that was a lie. I called them and they made me come in to pick up the original title for the vehicle, which they could have just given to me when I bought it. I had to go to the BMV and do everything myself, like I bought it from a private party.

He had already paid off a car there which was completely rusted underneath and had to be sold. Against my warnings, he decided to return to Settle because he had a good payment history with them. We took a 2013 Ford Escape for a drive and it drove a little rough but ok. Upon return to the lot, we went back out to restart it and it wouldn't start. They told us to go have lunch and they would replace the battery. We returned and the battery looked new to us so my husband signed the papers and purchased the car. The very next morning we go to start the car and not only would it not start but the coolant had completely leaked out. We contacted them immediately and were met with disrespect and belittlement by the owner. The engine is bad and he doesn't care. We just asked to get in a another car, not our money back. He hung up the phone on my husband several times. I even went in and tried to be the mediator between them and again he was condescending and rude. DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE. They are not about customer service and reputable. All they want is the sale....that's it. Once it's off the lot, the pile of junk is your problem.

The pictures conveniently had the steering wheel cover the shifter. I drove almost three hours one way with my wife toddler and baby just to have them joke that I did not have the patience to teach my wife how to drive a manual. Anything for a sale I guess.

Josh Wickersham: We live right around the corner and when it came to buying a car, we wanted to stay local and they have a great selection of cars in good cosmetic shape. We test drove a couple cars, found one we liked. He insisted that he'd personally driven it for 500 miles and it was a fantastic car. When I went to pay, he tried to charge me $500 more than we'd previously agreed on, luckily it was via email so I had proof.Less than a week later, the check engine light came on. Vacuum hoses needed replaced, the catalytic converter was in rough shape and there was a major issue around a spark plug that had clearly been ignored because 3 out of 4 plugs were brand new and the last one was barely in place. I've nearly finished fixing those issues about 5 months later and I'm being told that the radiator should be replaced soon. I've almost paid off my car in repairs alone.I do not recommend going here. Save yourself the time and especially the money and go somewhere, anywhere, else.**Edit: Just got off the phone with the mechanic and one of the problems persisted for so long that it literally destroyed another part, thus doubling my cost. That's what you have to look forward to.

Sarah Geraghty: I had been looking for a car for two weeks, test driving everything and really contemplating my options. I was a little overwhelmed by this past Saturday when I stopped by preferred without an appointment and Jake greeted my husband and I right away. Jake never got frustrated or tired even though we test drove 3 or 4 cars and he kept engaging with us about what we liked and didn't along with having knowledge about the vehicles. My husband and I knew we really appreciated him and the rest of the staff at the state rd preferred and after taking a couple days to weigh things out we made the jump and Jake and the guys got busy first thing to make the deal happen. Everyone from the manager, finance officers and loan agent to our sales person made us feel important and comfortable even when my husband and I were a little edgy at times. Jake brought my spare key fab, hand delivered to my house with a warm and sincere hand written letter and I am now a huge fan of preferred, they have a client for life. 10/10

Kristen Canan: If you are looking at a vehicle on Preferred's lots, make sure to take it in to your mechanic before making any decisions. I was looking at a Subaru Forester that appeared to be in excellent condition and I was considering purchasing. I was told that this vehicle had been serviced at their center, however they were not able to answer any of my questions regarding service performed. I took it into the Subaru Service Center where they found over $5,000 in fixes, including major head gasket leaks, transmission fluid hose leak (fluid all over front driver wheel), ball joint replacement on one wheel, muffler and exhaust replacement (bad repair job, very very rusty) and lower control arm replace. There is just no way all of these issues were not seen at their service center. My experience at Preferred Auto was that I wasted my time and money. I did not get the impression that I was being scammed, but I am not sure where the communication breakdown occurred between service and sales. I will say that Josh was very pleasant, friendly, and not pushy at all.

Knocked off a couple hundred for me since I wanted it and he was just being oh so nice.A week later I brought it back and told him it was making a weird noise and the oil pressure light wouldn't go off no matter what I did.Not his problem, he just sells cars and he's not a mechanic right 🙃4.21.21 the truck no longer runs and when it starts there's a knocking sound before it shuts off.I'll be lucky to scrap this $5,000 truck for $600.

Keep in mind he said that they do a thorough inspection of the cars they sell to be sure they are in good shape. What a crock of you know what. Save yourself the time and headache and don’t listen to the pitch of “I have several others looking at this vehicle” it’s a technique called “fear of loss”. Learned my lesson to always have a car inspected before purchasing. Also, they didn’t even fill out my title and closing paper work correctly. The numbers don’t match and some of the boxes that should have been checked, were not. Time to call my small claims attorney!

We took the car to our local mechanic and was told that the car was a bad buy and that Settle Auto is known as a lemon factory. I was allowed to test drive multiple vehicles, I was allowed to put a vehicle in I was interested in on hold for 5 days while continuing to test drive vehicles within that 5 day period in case they got something in that I liked more. Every question I had was answered without giving me the runaround. They were always upfront and honest about pricing and payments and nothing suddenly changed when it came time to sign the papers. I ended up with a 2019 equinox with just over 20k miles.for a very competitive and good price.
