The Maxwell Apartments in Indianapolis: what do users think?
TaylorTheTuner: Cancelled our booking without warning or explanation
Shelby Pund: Nice apartment. However I’ve had over $500 worth of packages stolen from the mailroom and the leasing agency just clings to the fact that if the shipping company doesn’t place packages into the parcel lockers it’s not their fault and won’t pursue the thief.
Mackenzie Pogue: This place was a nightmare to live at and certainly not worth the price.
Tammy Roper: Moved into the Maxwell in April of 2022. I waited to give a review for a few months so that I could give a more thorough review of the Maxwell apartments. I have to say that I really do love it here. The management team was so responsive and kind throughout the entire moving in process. The apartments are really beautiful and spacious. We've had no issues with noise level and everyone is super friendly. The maintenance team is also quick to respond when ever there is an issue. Love the Maxwell and would recommend to anyone looking for a great downtown Indy apartment!
Avery Pagell: Lived there for 2 years. Had to deal with countless fire alarms going off at any time of the day whether its 3am or 7pm for about 30 mins a time. Paid 100$ a month for a garage spot only to have my things stolen out of my vehicle and broken windows and the apartment does nothing about. I highly advise against this apartment.
Kyle Summitt: We toured the apartment with Jordan. He was excellent. Every question we had was answered. He let us take our time, and gave a great customer experience. Anyone is sales or customer service can learn a thing from this guy!!!
Leah J.: My experience renting at The Maxwell was easily the worst I've ever had. During my time living at this property, my packages were stolen multiple times (and when I brought this up to the staff my concerns were dismissed as outliers), my car was broken into in the parking garage (once again, no real response on the part of the property except for a "Sorry this happened to you!"), and repairs that were promised would be made to the bathroom in my unit by the time I moved in (rust around the showers, sloppy caulking, etc) were never made. The loitering in and around the property is absolutely unbelievable (I can't tell you the number of times I was walking to my car in the garage and was practically intercepted by a strange man), so if you're a single woman, I would advise you carry pepper spray at any and all times of day. The hot water is inconsistent at best, and though the maintenance team was swift and courteous when attempting to repair it, it's been brought to my attention that this is a habitual issue for the property. For the cost of living here, these issues were absolutely unacceptable. But the worst experience of all, easily, was upon move out. I had movers take most of my boxes and furniture out of my apartment two days before my scheduled move out, and when I came back the next day to pick up my remaining belongings, they had been thrown into trash bags and random boxes with no regard for the contents (sauces from my refrigerator tossed into garbage bags with sensitive banking paperwork, etc). Someone contracted by the property to paint the unit had entered my apartment without consent, during covid, touched all of my things, and even destroyed a priceless documentation that I'll never be able to get back. It was the most incredible violation of privacy I have ever experienced.I would wholeheartedly recommend AGAINST renting at the property if you value your peace of mind. The only positive things I can say about my experience here was that they didn't put up a fight when it came to compensating me for my damaged property and ending my lease.Side note: The courtyard fountain looks lovely in the summer, but trust me, after 24/7 water running that you can hear clearly through your walls, you'll want nothing more than to never look at another fountain again.
Bethany Wilson: If you enjoy having hot water, don’t rent here. Our hot water has been out 3 times since living here, with the last instance resulting in 4 days without hot water. Also plenty of leaks, broken elevators, car break-ins, random 2 hour fire alarms and plenty of other issues.Incredibly poor building management and no care for their residents.Worst apartment experience ever. You can absolutely find somewhere better to live that cares about residents and knows how to take care of apartment community so it isn’t falling apart every week.
Jordan Lambuth: Lots of water issues. Either the hot water goes out for days at time. The fire suppression system is leaking and the fire alarm is going off in the middle of the night. Rate increases, cost of parking doubled. We're now being charged for utilities. No guest parking. Not very well insulated, drafty windows.
Anthony Elias: 2 times in 2 yrs we've been left without hot water for 3+ days. Also, the pipes bursts in the winter twice in the last two yrs (see a pattern?) so buy renters insurance. Also, dont waste $1k a month here.
Nick Booker: A nice place to live
Shashank Suresh: There are many things wrong with this apartment building. The water main pipeline has had problems three times in the last two years. Two of those times it actually burst and flooded and destroyed and entire floor of the building, displacing all of the tenants on that floor. The pipe repairs themselves took quite a long time and the entire building did not have running water and had to all use the bathroom and shower on the first floor during this time. I feel like paying almost $1500 in rent entitles a person to water in their own apartment. The fire alarm is also faulty and goes off for no reason several times a year. Sometimes it happens in the middle of the night. Too bad if you work a job during the day that requires you to shower and have restful sleep at home - you won't get that by living here.Overall, I do not recommend living here. Avoid it if you can. The apartments themselves are nice but the high cost of living here plus the inconveniences that come up more frequently than they should make it not worthwhile.
Shawn Harper-Hall: Very nice downtown apartments, right on Ohio and East St.Large parking area.
T. Michael Fischer: Great space but poor quality and customer service. It is obvious that the Glick employees are more suited for lower income property management.
Amanda Vela: I have absolutely loved living at the Maxwell! It has been the perfect apartment for me. I've toured almost all the new apartments in Downtown Indy and the Maxwell is, by far, the nicest. The interiors are beautifully decorated with dark wood floors, granite countertops, beautiful hardware, high ceilings and clean carpets. It was always quiet and a nice young professional crowd. It may sound like a small detail, but it's SO nice to have a glass shower door instead of a curtain (unheard of in apartments!) and a pantry in the kitchen (also very rare). I also had a walk in laundry room that I could use for storage and have a drying rack (in the past I've had to air dry my clothes on top of the washer/dryer - no fun!). The heated garage is so nice in the winter... I can't even begin to tell you what an advantage that is.Besides all that, the staff and maintenance team are very kind, friendly and helpful. They always responded to my calls and needs in a timely manner and did so with kindness and understanding. And perhaps the best part? The location. The Maxwell is just blocks from Mass Ave and blocks from the heart of the city - Monument Circle. You are literally close to everything - but not too close that it's noisy.5 stars!!
Kris Leksas: While first impressions of the maxwell apartments are good, don't be fooled. The overall layout of the apartment complex is nice and quality of the units are good but then it goes all down hill.Like others have mentioned, the walls are paper thin. You can hear everything that is happening in all of your neighbors apartments. Speaking of noise, the courtyard is like an amphitheater. Any noise is magnified by 10 so don't bother opening your windows(there's zero airflow anyway). They technically have a gym but I wouldn't call it that. It's more like a 15x15 sq foot storage room with a couple treadmills and free weights thrown in it. It gets claustrophobic with more than two people in it and smells like a high school gym.Lastly, don't expect to have guests spend the night. Being a Chicago transplant, I often had guests on the weekends. Unfortunately, there is no where to park. There's a large lot to the side of the building that is not owned by the complex. One of my guests parked there and in the morning, was approached by the maxwell management. They said they could give you the company's number that owned the lot and you can buy a spot for $50/month or that you will be towed. She then proceeded to copy his license plate number to presumably turn it in.Overall, the lack of amenities, poor noise insulation, and unfriendly staff make maxwell apartments an extremely poor place to live.

9 on Canal: what do users think?
nathan klingenberg: Unreal the amount of problems I’ve had since moving in last month. I’m currently getting an error message on my ac unit and it’s at 77 no wonder I can’t sleep. No cleaning had been done during move in. Nothing luxury about this save your money.
Kinjal Bhadresha: As I am a nice person and I don't like to offend anyone, I never review anything. Nonetheless, I wanted to give advice to others so they wouldn't choose this location because it has been such a terrible experience overall. The structure was intended to be beautiful, yet it is currently in such bad shape. Do not trust them since they are stealing your deposit money. I moved out of my apartment before two and a half months, and it has been more than 45 days, and I still haven't received my deposit back. Oh, and don't attempt calling them; phones are never answered. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Don't believe anything they tell you when you get a tour!
Crystal Deel: Not a *luxury* apartment. Things are not well kept here at all. Easy to think it looks nice at a glance but living here sucks.- HVAC doesn’t work for several residents (for months at a time)!- Dog park is not well taken care of - weeds in the “garden” boxes + not cleaned regularly. It’s gross.- Lounge + study rooms are always locked and not cleaned very well. When they are open, it’s too cold to work in there because the heat doesn’t work. Furniture is gross and not in good condition.- So sick of key fobs not working to unlock doors- Elevator buttons have not been working properly lately (have to push down to go up, etc)- Terrace has been under construction for months - with no one working on it.- Terrace also has limited furniture and the furniture they do have isn’t in good condition. Fireplace and grill also not working.- Gym: cleaning wipes for machines are not refilled + for months has had heat/AC issues so it’s either really hot or really cold.Management posts incentives all the time to help bring in new residents and I think most of us feel like there’s no way we could ever feel ok recommending our friends and family to live hereManagement is also not good about sending communications to residents about these types of issues. It’s funny what they choose to communicate and not communicate to us.
Sage Spring: My only experience was with Haley Hartline and my goodness, what a breath of fresh air she was! I was planning on moving to the area on the condition I was offered a position and sadly, I won't be moving after all.. but if was going to move anywhere in Indianapolis, it'd be here simply because of her! She deserves all the praise for sure!
Elaine Cardella-Tedesco: Super fast repair in my bathroom. Thank you guys!
Grant Stamper: Replaced my broken light switch and was super helpful. Very fast and accommodating.
Jacquan Smith: Wendy is the best in the office! The entire place could run with just her! She is always so helpful!
aravind saraswatula: I really want to appreciate the hard work of Nakias. Nakias is determined, always going above and beyond what is expected. My wife & I visited 9 on canal this week, to search a 1 bed 1 bath apartment. The way Nakias treated us is really awesome. He is very patient and listens to customer and makes sure customer gets what he wants. I also want thank Wendy for her help in leasing
Franklin Lauck: *EDIT 12/28/22*Haven’t had any heat or ac since my last review which makes it 3 months now. The apartment won’t give credit and I’ve heard every excuse in the world on why it isn’t fixed. WRTV just wrote up an article about this terrible building yesterday. STAY AWAY. Got bait and switched when I moved in after they sold me on the Indy view and ended up facing north. Then this year have had rent increased 550 all for me to not have heat ac or any upgrades.——————————-*EDIT 11/2/22*Has not been a great year. Don’t live here if you want AC. My rent increased $550 and AC works 1/4th of the time at best not sure why I renewed.——————————-I moved in a month ago right as there was a new property manager taking over. The previous company messed up my lease and had a few problems during move in. I am super pleased with the new company so far and Miranda, the new property manager, who has been a pleasure to work with. She was able to fix the inherited problems and has been nice throughout. I look forward to a great year.
Theo: Good team, the staff could use some more man power. My base rent was raised by nearly $500 a month. I had no choice but to leave
Artur Silva: It's November 12th, it's snowing outside, 21 degrees, and I have no heat. Actually I have no AC or heat since I moved here in August. There's always an explanation about some parts coming from asia and their inability to fix it. This is an avoidable problem, don't move here, there is no accountability. I asked for a discount since basic utilities are not on, and of course, they can't me that. Run away!
Jonas Smith: Friendly staff, maintenance is timely for emergency and the vast majority of non-emergency issues. Lived here for year and a half. Would rent again.
Vinchi P: I love the canal view!!!!
Gold Chaser: Clean, upgrade in unit are awesome front desk people are nice as well very professional
Kevin Hereau: Terrible management and customer service. When I first moved in was told I needed to apply for a locker for all packages through a third party company and forced to pay the fee. These lockers are never used and management will not answer my calls about the lack of use or the multiple stolen packages that I have had. My bicycle was also stolen from the locked bike cage and had over $1000 value. I used the apartment insurance recommended by 9OC and they will not submit a claim without video footage. Management will not answer or return my calls about this either. On top of that there is water damage in the halls and in the ceilings of most of the building. Overall terrible place to live with no security and terrible service.
Brett O'Bannon: I am looking to move to downtown Indy and 9 on Canal was at the top of my shortlist - until I read the reviews. Please note: I can ONLY review my experience with trying to engage the leasing agent to obtain information about the status of management and the many, many troubling reviews.I called and emailed and both efforts met with a short, dismissive response stating they cannot comment on ANY of the bad reports and that I should simply call the police for statistics concerning the property. I think not. There are simply too many options downtown to risk this. 9 on Canal was, to repeat, on the top of my shortlist for its location and aesthetics. But I can't imagine what would lead me to risk the time and money in the hopes that the flood of horror stories have all been turned around.
Sam Jones: A/C was broken and was not getting fixed for weeks. Apartment would smell like nail polish (acetone fume leak) and these requests to fix are always ignored. Just recently, my fridge was getting warm, so maintenance came and claimed they fixed it. While it felt a little colder for the rest of that day, I came home from work the next day to a room temperature fridge with moldy cheese, spoiled milk, rotten food, and gnats. $100+ worth of food now in the trash just a day after I was told my fridge was fixed. I have only lived here for a month and a half. I shouldn't have ignored all of the other google reviews. 9 on Canal will not make an effort to help me so I figured I'd leave a review to help others who are thinking about living here.
Suborna Nath: We went for a tour. The entire building smells so weird. The apartments look like bird’s nest. There are no bathtubs in any of the units (only standing shower). The closet was nice though but these units are so overpriced. There is no nice view from this building, it’s just empty lot all around. The building looks like a mess honestly. The leasing stuff was nice but that’s about it 🤷🏻‍♀️
James Blahnik: 5 stars for Wendi...
Jonathon Cox: From the day my girlfriend and I moved in to 9 on Canal we have had nothing but issues. I used to visit my friend who would live in these apartments and it used to be so well kept and nice about 5 years ago. We moved at the end of April, and since then, 4 months later, we have experienced up to 10 instances of our air conditioning going out randomly during the dead heat of summer, our hot water is currently out as we speak also. Only reason we ever get movement on getting things temporarily fixed is because we are here through Hello Landing, so having the 3rd party pull their weight was the only way to get any action from management. I’ve left many voicemails to their front office, and called several times with no success. They switched management staffs halfway through our stay so everything is now decentralized. The people who run this facility have shown to be incapable of fixing MAJOR issues that should be top priority. The people here are not happy. PLEASE do not move in to these apartments until this team fixes these issues, which likely won’t happen until they are financially incentivized when people get wise to their incompetence and stop signing leases.
Hannah Tkacz: Honestly I never review because I am a nice person and I hate to hurt peoples feelings. But this has been such a horrible experience from top to bottom that I wanted to help others not to chose this place. The building was built to be nice but it is so poorly maintained. Back in October a locked storage closet next to our apartment flooded the hallway as well as our apartment and then leaked down to lower floors so much so that the first floor ceiling caved in. The next day people came into our apartment and tore out our flooring. It is now August and despite many MANY reminders and reassurances that it would be fixed, we still have no floor. The plumbing in the apartment is still a mess as they worked on it last week and nicked something so our washer leaks every time we run it. This has not been fixed even though we have asked for help several times. The air conditioning has many glitches and the gym as well as many common areas (and some apartments) do not have AC. And maybe the most frustrating- the front wheel of my husbands bike was stolen FROM THE LOCKED CAGE in our parking garage where it was locked with a u-lock. When asked about looking at security footage as it is disconcerting that it was stolen by someone with access to our apartment complex, management said they do not have access to security cameras. Seems like a big oversight especially considering someone was killed in the gym here a few years ago. I don't want to hurt any feelings but I am just so frustrated and would highly advise against this place.

Artistry Indy: what do users think?
Lisa O'Reilly: Close proximity to many Indianapolis destinations.
Francisco Ruiz: The best place in Indy, staff is incredibly nice, the community is cool, I am 2 blocks away from best restaurants and attractions. I highly recommend Artistry👏
Bryan Richburg: I have lived here for the last 15 months and am only moving to be closer to my job. These apartments were a part of my introduction to the city of Indianapolis and I have absolutely loved living here. The location is near Whole Foods, a BP gas station and best of all in walking distance to multiple restaurants and Mass Ave. My apartment was a great size for a single person with plenty of storag and a huge up to date kitchen. The staff were always friendly especially Michelle and the maintenance staff were always quick to respond for any issues I may have had. They are always having events for the residents in the lounge ranging from a grab and go breakfast to BYOB game nights. If you are looking for a great city experience, I would highly recommend.
aly mar: I really enjoyed my one year as resident at this property , the building are clean , the management office are friendly and always ready to help with all inquiries specially Michelle and Claudia as well . Thanks for printing all my documents always with a smile lol 😂 appreciate it and i will definitely come back for a 2bedrooms when will i get married lol
Donald Brady: Great
LaShaila Spivey: Do not move here. The staff is not friendly. The building is not safe or secure. The external door to the mailroom has been broken/open for months. Your packages will be stolen because of this but there's no security cameras so good luck. Also, there are numerous AirBnB hosts, and their guests will make your living situation a complete nightmare. There's trash all over the place. They also use IMPD to clear out the pool immediately when the pool closes. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.
Lance Little: Horrible place to live!!
Dayshah Arroyo: Absolutely horrible apartment complex. I was mugged by a homeless man on more than one occasion. Complex does nothing to keep unwanted people out of the parking garage. Very unsafe and horrible management.
imani gadis: it was the weirdest and rudest experience I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve been to more upscale apartments that have a open door policy for the leasing office, but this one thought they were swanky enough to have it completely closed off through a lock box. After dialing the lockbox number, I found the lady to be very rude when asking if I could do a walk in tour with no appointment. I stated “ Hi I apologize for the short notice, but I was in the area looking at other apartments and thought I could just stop in for a tour is that ok? She than responds “I guess so, if I could find the time”. Keep in mind I’m just standing outside in the cold, waiting for them to let me in so that way they could at least greet me and tell me what the prices are but even after I was let inside she sat me down in the waiting area for 30 minutes came back asked my level of income and my expectations, and then walked off. I thought that was weird because I have a high income and really good credit but she never came back.I experienced a lot of different things looking for apartments as a black man. This was the weirdest one of them all I wouldn’t even call it racist just as much is stereotyping maybe because they thought I didn’t make money but yeah, I wouldnt rent here, even if I owned the place! I will be contacting the state housing department about this to let them know.
Josh Jordan: I never leave reviews, but Artistry Indy asked me to!This is by far the worst place I have ever leased from, bar none!As I write this, I am on a back and forth with their leasing office because they sent me my lease again after I denied an addendum trying to sign me up for a credit reporting service that I have to pay for or cancel myself onto my lease renewal! Instead of returning my calls, they emailed me a congratulations for my lease renewal and said review us! So here's my experience:My car has been broken into from the internal garage, but sorry "no cameras and not our problem, file a police report"There was a fresh bullet hole in an elevator until they patched itMold in my washer wasn't resolved for 6 months even with follow upsStench in the halls and garbage chute rooms filled with trash come Monday morning from improper maintenance of the chutesIt took them 4 attempts to stop my A/C from flooding the floorMy ceiling poured water from the apartment above me, twice0/10, would not recommend! :D
Jake Brashear: Great facilities, great staff, very well done overall compared to most apartment complexes. The add-on parts that you can't get out of are annoying, such as the mandatory $25 per month for trash collection services that no one literally ever uses, but outside of that it's everything I had hoped for. All things in, I would make the same decision but will not be renewing my contract for other, personal reasons. You won't go wrong signing here, just make sure you are an outgoing person or you won't fit in well.
jjaks krull: 2 stars because I’ve gotten an email to fill out this satisfaction survey every other day for a year even after unsubscribing my email address numerous times. Apartments fine though.
Kristin Voss: I sent the pics to the Artistry maintenance request thingy, but have since deleted them so I do not have them to provide. But I have mold. I have bugs. And I have submitted multiple requests to correct these issues and I keep getting messages "work order submitted" and then "work order canceled"Will my issued ever be fixed?Fingers crossed. It's been3months since I first sent pics of all of the mold.
Dimitry Raymond: The maintenance here is still bad. My AC unit broke when it was 90 outside, Michelle lied about scheduling the AC guy to come and fix it (I confirmed it with him when I met him). Wasn't until an angry email later that they actually lifted a finger to do anything. Then my exhaust fan/ventilator for the unit became defective. Their "fix" was to remove it without a plan to replace it. (would have been better to keep it in). They have easy ways to fix this issue. But, it's been 2 months of no properly circulating air and there's still no fix in sight. Jacob's response, from a month ago about being diligent to fix this, was a lie.
Jason Green: Office staff has really disappoint me, I have had a water leak for a week and they showed no interest in resolving the problem. After multiple promises to fix it on multiple occasions, still no one came, For the price you pay you shouldn't have to have buckets of water lying around to catch the leaks. Trying to go down to office maybe then they will care, but doubt it....
Noémie Golubovic: I lived at the Artistry for a year and I loved it ! Building is always clean, the staff is super nice and helpful, the amenities are great (2 gyms, rooftop pool, dog park …) and there is social events almost every months and yoga and work out classes every week !
Sara Aguilar: Not a place to make friends, Less if you have children. Needs to improve overall cleanliness of buildings
Rachel Tullar: I lived at the artistry for 2 years and my partner lived here for 3 years so I feel that I have a fair assessment of this complex. It was a decent place to live starting out, especially if you are in your 20’s. Like every apartment, there are pros and cons of living here which I have laid out below.Location: Fair - the location is within walking distance of a lot of restaurants, night life and two grocery stores (Whole Foods & Needlers) which is extremely convenient. The downside is that the Artistry is located directly next to a homeless shelter where multiple violent offenders reside. I personally did not feel safe walking around outside on my own or at night because of this. 2/5Building Amenities: Excellent - the pool is great, and is definitely a party during the weekends. The gym is small but had pretty much everything that I needed. Amazon package hub is also very nice. I used the common areas during work hours occasionally which was convenient. 5/5Apartment Quality: Fair - the apartment was fairly cheap, and the walls are thin. We had an issue with the upstairs neighbors making a ton of noise for 3+ months which made it difficult to sleep. The appliances are okay, dishwasher was not the best. The bathroom was poorly ventilated and started to grow some mold around the caulk. We also had a major moisture problem and they supplied us with an air dehumidifier which helped a little. 3/5Staff: This one is hard, there was some staff that was extremely phenomenal to work with (Skylar, Jacob, and Austin) and others who were really difficult to work with (Jen). After living there for 2 years we eventually knew the right people to reach out to. Unfortunately those who are hard to work with took away from the experience of those who did an excellent job. 3/5Misc: When we moved into our apartment in 2020 there was a putrid smell coming out of the vents for a few weeks. I know that multiple tenants complained about this and the problem wasn’t addressed until a few weeks later. It turns out there was a dead body rotting in a first floor vacant apartment. The entire apartment was covered in flies. The management never addressed what happened in this situation but just clarified that they found a body - many nearby tenants thought that a homeless person broke into this apartment and passed away which brought on extra safety concerns.
Amy Plocharczyk: Easy access to interstates, right next to Whole Foods, walking distance to mass ave, and easy walking distance to night life activities! My dog loves the bark park and seeing all the friendly faces.
Laurie Butler: Caitlin and Austin are terrific people with whom to deal here. As are the maintenance crew and all the rest. A great place to live!!!!!Laurie Butler
Megan Fehribach: Randy is the best!

Lakeshore Apartments: what do users think?
JSD: I've spent a year here. I haven't had a single problem, no issues to deal with, nothing but understanding and positivity from the staff. I'm glad I found Lakeshore Apartments and I am thankful to live in a place where the staff actually cares about the people who live there and the property they run. Highest recommendation possible.UPDATE 4/6/23 -It's actually become an even nicer place to live. I cannot express how great the staff is. Best of any complex I've lived in. They installed a package pickup center which is great. Happy to be living here during a time where finding a nice place at all is impossible.
Kiara Williams: Great place to live!I have lived here for the past 2 years and was a previous resident before. The apartment is wonderful and offers lots of storage and space. It is also great having locked entry doors to buildings to help ensure safety. The patio is really nice and has extra storage space. I live facing the woods so it is great to just sit outside during a nice day and have some privacy. The staff and maintenance are very responsive to any issues or concerns I have had with my unit while being here. They have added a few upgrades like a package locker which is convenient as I can now pick up packages after work when the office is closed.
tamara turner (Monique): Tanner was very nice and professional
Beau Isaacs: Lakeshore is a great place to live! On-site management is incredible - very communicative, extremely friendly, fun resident events, and they keep the grounds very clean! The apartments are very spacious, and have very nice finish levels! The amenities spaces are great - two pools, fitness center, car washing area, and many more!
gaby platt: Moved in January 2023, I had split wood floors throughout the apartment. So the staff was very kind and assisted me immediately in not only repairing the floors but replacing them completely!
Carter Radseck: Lakeshore Apartments was my first solo apartment in my life. I lived at Lakeshore for about 3.5 years and it was an overall good experience. Of course its not perfect, but overall I say my stay was great and I will always look back at my time at Lakeshore positively. My biggest plus about Lakeshore was my rent escalations. I signed my lease for a 1BR in the summer of 2019. Of course, next year was Covid and Lakeshore didn't raise my rent at all (renewal was in May of 2020). The next year they only raised it 4%, then the following year by 16% (understandable because I was paying below market rent and rent increases in 2022 were about 18% nationwide). Lakeshore has great amenities (the best being the pool) and its in a great location. Castleton does have issues so anywhere you are going to live in this general area there will be risks. The apartments are secure however and maintained well. The downside of Lakeshore (like most apt complexes) is the maintenance. Not horrible and they are good people, but work orders can take a few days to a week at a time to complete. I remember my shower tile fell out during my stay and the job they did to fix it wasn't great. Also, my toilet paper holder came out of place, so they just ripped it out of the wall and replaced it with a new one in a different location, so there were big holes in my dry wall next to my toilet (not great). I had to break my lease for a move and I only had to pay for 2 months rent (this is great, some places in this area are 4 months rent). I never got charged for any weird cleaning or damage fees upon move out, just utilities. This reflects well on the property management team and Birge & Held. Overall, I would recommend anyone to live at Lakeshore if they wanted to live in the Castleton area, who wants a nice place, that has good value, and is generally safe.
Tim Fuller: Been living here for 10+years. Great location, the management and staff are very friendly and responsive. The amenities like gym and pool are nice and well kept! And the units are newly renovated and modern. Overall, it’s a very comfortable place to call home!
Doug Hilder: I will never know! I scheduled a tour for 1/21/23 at 11AM and received a confirmation email. I also received multiple emails from them reminding me of the scheduled tour. When I arrived with my son, the person sitting behind the desk told me they had no record of my scheduled tour and even asked me if I was in the right place. I will never know if the place is nice as I received very poor customer service upon arrival. The leasing agent never said his name or even welcomed my son and I. It seemed like I was bothering him. I decided to leave when it was clear he did not want to help me. If that is the level of customer service a potential new tenant receives, I want no part of a business like that. I would change your business model if you are reading this.
张莉: Very good apartment! I have been living here for four and half year, felt very safe and comfortable, good environment
Pearle Christie: Lakeshore is a good place to live for many reasons, however, the staff is unprofessional and completely unwilling to work with their tenants. They’re rude, nasty, sarcastic, etc... I have been a tenant for the past 2 years without any problems and when I went to resign for a 3rd year, my lease was raised about $30 to renew (which I expected since it was raised the first time I renewed). However, I didn’t think it’d hurt to go talk to the leasing office about keeping my rent the same or somehow reducing it. Of course, the office said no and I accepted the answer... UNTIL my neighbor on the EXACT floor and EXACT room had a renewal offer of $52 cheaper. Once I asked the leasing office if I could have the same offer, she shut me down, refused to talk about the other offer for confidentiality reasons and got snarky. The leasing office lady then said, “No one gets a price reduction for renewing their lease.” Once I tried to show her the actual proof of my neighbors cheaper offer, she continued to say she wouldn’t talk about it and had no explanation. Once my lease is up, I will not be renewing and I suggest people find another place to live to avoid my situation. Also make sure to ask you’re getting the cheapest option for your apartment, because your neighbor in the exact same situation could be getting a better deal.I am glad I left. I found out lakeshores true colors. I spent a year with a washer/dryer that were not functioning. I was robbed three times. My car was robbed twice and even though I have the paperwork to back it all up and explained to COREY that I was leaving due to the prejudice and safety concerns as well as theft and monetary loss, he still proceeded to write/call me about late rent. LOL. I paid my rent on time monthly for two years. Didn’t miss one payment. It’s not me, it’s you.To this day I’m being billed for 5k LOL by a third party company. These people are insane. They actually have no respect for loyalty. There were no apologies for the loss. They are currently dinging my credit. BIRGE AND HELD STEER CLEARPs. Your response is lame and proving my point. COREY you can call me yourself if you actually care. You can get the 5k I don’t owe you off my credit if you actually care.
natasha misco: I have been living here since 2019.I have enjoyed my time staying here and if I wasn’t relocating to another state. I would not leave. I love these apartments.I haven’t had any issues while living here. Any concerns I had were always handled immediately. The manager Corey has always worked with me no matter the situation. The office staff is very friendly.I would definitely recommend living here. It’s nice, clean and well kept. The two pools and fitness center are amazing. Also they accept our packages in the leasing office and take the time out to organize them by last name. That’s really going over and above for their tenants. This for me and my kids will definitely be a bitter sweet moment once we leave.
Marci Tipton: We lived there 6.5 years. The only reason we left was because we needed a three bedroom spot. The community has amazing upkeep. Maintenence people were always a hoot when they visited. Office staff were great. Definitely a sad day when we moved out. There is a great secluded trail in the woodsy area by the river. It goes under 465. I jogged /walked many times. It's very safe. I even came within a few feet of a doe. We startled each other. If you know what beaten path to take.... you can find morel mushrooms when they're in season.Overall, I'd go back in a heartbeat if we could get by in a two bedroom.
Nathan Detwiler: This community allows fraudulent applicants to move in, get evicted, and then send massive balances to collections that affect the person whose identity was stolen. SCREEN YOUR APPLICANTS!
Kaylee Kirtz: Let me start with Larry. He is and was the ONLY reason I signed the lease besides the appeal of the property and it’s maintence.Larry was an amazing leasing agent but left the company which I don’t blame him. On a personal level he’s a human being and allowed you to feel the same way about human experiences like rent issues, neighbors, etc. Very personal human being and amazing soul overall!! Had to mention him because he MADE that office, NOW. Corey, the property manager. A whole other experience in which most experiences I felt very belittled when speaking to him about different issues like moving out and finding a home for rent (which I did but my lease isn’t over until September 2022) so I talked to him about buying out my lease for the 2300 or close to it as the lease stated because my move in date in my house was June 14th. I figured the buyout would be cheaper than paying the rest of the lease but he said that number was only to buy the lease but there are more fees so it wouldn’t be cheaper since I only signed again for 4 months… I saw none of this in my lease.. except the buyout number , I’m 9 months pregnant and about to give birth, didn’t want to be stuck paying two different rents where I am not even living anymore. I’ve always been a great tenant NEVER ONCE late on my rent or any bills or caused ANY issues & after speaking to him he states “well that’s up to you if you want to pay two rents”Like…. not personable AT ALL, very rude every interaction was like this btw. Just don’t expect a good interaction with Corey. Sadly he’s the reason I’d never move back or tell anyone good about this place. Management is EVERYTHING esp with property so just know what you’re dealing with. Sad sad experience.
Jacey Crawford Williams: would leave 0 stars if I could. no apartment should be 90 degrees with the AC "working."
Anllely Fernandez: We moved a few weeks ago to Lakeshore and it has been the best experience, all the staff have been amazing with us! all the paperwork was quick and easy, the apartment is perfect for us and our dog.
Deniz: Best property manager out of any apartment complex I've ever lived in, and I've been renting apartments in various cities of the course of my life since 2011. Maintenance is very responsive (in my experience at least) and they're EVERYWHERE all the time. I see their little golf carts multiple times a day. 9/10 safety and 10/10 accessibility to restaurants, shops, major roadways, etc. The apartments could absolutely be 200-300 dollars cheaper per month, and parking tends to be scarce, but those are the only downsides in my personal opinion and it's overall a great complex. I absolutely love it here
Kendall Wyatt: Overall Lakeshore was a great place to live! The amenities they have are awesome and it is a nice community. The location is awesome and close to a lot of great areas! Maintenance was also available when I needed them and the leasing office was very helpful. I am very happy with my stay here and will miss it!
N. Kim Mullendore: Now leaving Lakeshore Apartments after three years. I will say it has been the best experience of any apartment complex I have lived in.The location is perfect with easy access to I465, Broad Ripple and downtown Indy. My apartment was beautiful with hardwood floors, modern fixtures, along with ample counter spaces and an expanded bedroom with walk-in closet. I never had a service call by maintenance other than replaced a heating element on the hot water heater. They made that repair within hours. The amenities are magnificent with two pools and excellent grilling areas. The grounds are clean and well kept. Most important is the neighbors and future friends you will meet. I have formed some lifelong relationships, because of the people I have met here at Lakeshore Apartments.Over the last ten years, I have lived in over three different communities. Lakeshore Apartments was hands down the best community for the location, price, and services.Put it at the top of your list when considering your future plans!!Sincerely,KimN. Kim Mullendore
Jaime Myers: Excellent leasing and property management! Units are nice and continuously being upgraded. Management has excellent communication so I am always aware of changes or work being done on the premises. The community login page makes paying rent easy as well as accessing documents, or putting in a maintenance request. Neighborhood is quiet and close to everything!
Lynn Butcher: It has been a few years since my last review of Lakeshore Apartments and so I thought it was time to update it. The property is beautiful. The location is convenient to everything I need. The apartments are gorgeous, roomy and comfortable and we have all the amenities needed. There are frequent updates and upgrades, too. The leasing office staff always goes above and beyond to help me/answer any questions and the maintenance staff is top notch. Everyone is super helpful. They definitely make all of us feel at home. I highly recommend Lakeshore Apartments!I've lived here for many years and highly recommend Lakeshore Apartments. The staff is awesome (amazingly helpful!), the views are beautiful (love the lake views!) and the apartments have been newly renovated. The location is close to everything. I've just renewed my lease for another year.
